Chapter 698 Return to Animal Planet 6

The elephant tribe is very cautious when dealing with the tiger tribe. No animal would rashly want to go against a few tigers, especially since those few tigers might represent an entire tribe.

Therefore, the elephant leader was not displeased by Si Hu's offense. For the sake of its base, it even wanted to patiently find out the truth immediately—where did this strange misunderstanding come from, given Shen Tu Mo's deep concern?

Since it was born, it has never seen a tiger with as much fur as the one on its body.

But before it could explain further, a powerful tiger stepped forward, picked up the young tiger like a chick, and took it back, expressing its deepest apologies.

Si Hu scoffed coldly. Clearly, the tiger's pride made it difficult for it to submit to a herbivore. As a result, its unruly taunt was met with a slap in return, its face smeared by Ling Hu's tiger claws.

Si Hu, who was often punished for being naughty, subconsciously became obedient... But soon, it came to its senses and became even angrier, glaring angrily at Du Lushui on the elephant's head.

Du Lushui touched her nose, stubbornly shielding Cheng Shuang from the malevolent gaze of a massive beast pouncing on its prey. The elephant leader was simply too tall, completely obscuring the elephants and the little girl behind it. Of course, Du Lushui wasn't happy about a beast with unclear intentions eyeing their little girl.

Although he initially thought these tigers were related to Shuangshuang's axe, now it seems that it's really hard to tell.

Time is merciless; even the deepest feelings will fade after a hundred years.

He was now a little worried about Shuangshuang. What if her axe-cake wasn't the same axe-cake as before? How disappointed the little girl would be!

Even if the old axe-wielding creature still cared about Cheng Shuang back then, having such a creature that disliked being petted would inevitably influence its judgment sooner or later, leading to a breakdown in the relationship between the human and the tiger.

Du Lushui was always sensitive and thoughtful, and she found Si Hu's gaze increasingly displeasing.

Si Hu had sneaked in, so naturally he didn't know that his uncle's orders to Ling Hu were to pick up an extremely important human friend and her companion. Because so much time had passed, and knowing the limited lifespans of human pets, Old Axe wasn't sure of his little girl's age. With his 800-meter filter applied, he proudly introduced her to Ling Hu, 'You'll understand when you see her; she's one of a kind!'

Linghu was already using his relationship with Liehu to get Sihu to go to the elephant base, a favor he was doing under the guise of official business. He certainly wouldn't reveal the full purpose, so Sihu painstakingly probed around before finally learning that their elaborate scheme was simply to pick up a human pet. Keep in mind that in the last decade or so, cold-blooded animals have become increasingly ruthless and unpredictable, and they're planning to target neutral allies. His uncle had specifically warned the animals in the canyon to avoid venturing out. And now…

This absolutely infuriated him.

Upon seeing Du Lushu, Si Hu unleashed all his pent-up emotions on this unassuming, gentle, and seemingly weak ordinary person.

Aside from his skin looking a bit smoother than those of the old, dead human pets of the South Canyon, what's different about him? Pshaw, it's not like he has two extra claws.

If it opens its mouth, it can swallow him whole, without even spitting out the bones.

If there were a favorability rating system, then the favorability rating between the human and the tiger would be -100 the moment they met on the first day of the lunar new year.

After calming down, the elephant leader quickly realized that all the tigers' eyes were actually fixed on its head. Although it wasn't explicitly stated, it cleverly recalled the words of the two pets: they had come looking for the tigers.

The gentle elephant blinked, its broad gaze concealing much calculation and contemplation. It exchanged a glance with the feline female, then chuckled as if it had forgotten the earlier unpleasantness. With Du Lushui on its head, it said to Ling Hu, "You've come from afar, and we don't have much to offer in terms of hospitality. I suppose Brother Tiger should know that we are herbivores. Although beastmen prefer omnivores, they generally don't eat much meat. On the other hand, my pets are spoiled rotten, and all the animals in the base pamper them."

Ling Hu understood immediately; this was a cunning and treacherous old fox.

After the genetic virus mutated, many middle-aged and elderly animals that were infected basically did not survive. Most of the remaining young animals were killed in the war. For animals like the leader, they are already considered old in the current animal planet.

Linghu is several years younger than it.

Animals are not good at scheming and trickery; they prefer to act directly when they have something to show for their strength. Therefore, the attack of the gene virus suddenly broke the normalcy of the entire world.

Ling Hu remained calm and composed, saying, "Although we are traveling light, we have brought compressed containers and ample nutrient solutions. Once we complete the mission, we will return to the Southern Alliance. There is no need for the leader to worry."

The leader, familiar with this straightforward style of communication, feigned ignorance, asking, "Your mission?"

"The human pet on your head and the other human pets belong to our Southern Alliance."

The ambiguous way of speaking made the female cat's eyebrows twitch. She had never known that rough and tough guys like tigers knew the art of speaking, but she also noticed Ling Hu's choice of words—"from our Yugoslavia."

Rather than some property or pet of our Yugoslavia, it could be a pet or something else entirely.

She exclaimed in surprise, "No way! The Southern Alliance can't even take care of a few little pets, and they escaped?" The female cat shook her head regretfully, "Ours are different. They're very well trained and obedient!"

Ling Hu grinned. "We never train humans. We are their friends."

Ling Hu's subordinates all displayed excellent composure in their management, showing no sign of discomfort even though it was the first time they had heard that animals and humans could become friends. Only Si Hu, however, raised his beard in disdain.
