Chapter 97 Large-scale meet-and-greet

Don't assume that ghosts and monsters are friendly towards humans. They were once human, and after becoming cold, they increasingly yearn for human body temperature, taste, and smell. What's terrifying is that they not only possess human memories but also human flaws. Furthermore, having broken free from the shackles of their bodies, they recklessly hate, resent, and envy.

So when the homeroom teacher coldly ordered several students to drag Liao Yuewei out of the classroom, Cheng Shuang immediately raised her hand.

The little girl's eyes were filled with longing, her upper body straight, her arms stretched high as if they were about to pierce the ceiling, attracting the attention of the whole class with an unyielding spirit.

The homeroom teacher gritted his teeth, inexplicably not wanting to talk to her, yet also wanting to ask her what tricks she was up to!

"explain!"

Her gentle tone turned swift and decisive, like that of a powerful woman, brief yet sinister.

The little girl stood up from the chair with a sweet smile, patting her chest as she assured them, "Teacher, I want to say that there's no need to trouble the lovely ladies, I'll do it!"

"Fine! You have to keep your word. If you can't keep up and it affects everyone's class, you'll be punished too!" His words were laced with schadenfreude.

"Just you wait and see!" Cheng Shuang rolled up her sleeves, limped over to Liao Yuewei, and squatted down, her smile fading.

Liao Yuewei's face was pale with a bluish tinge, her whole body was trembling, and her skin was radiating cold air.

The little girl first used her fingernail to press hard on the philtrum, and found that she was not unconscious. Her eyelids were trembling violently, but she seemed to be trapped in a dream and could not wake up.

This is clearly not a normal fainting spell.

Time was of the essence, so Cheng Shuang immediately gave up on waking her up and tried to drag her legs...

It remained completely still.

She was weak, but not so weak that she couldn't even lift one leg.

No wonder the homeroom teacher readily agreed.

Cheng Shuang lowered her eyes, ignoring the faint, high-pitched mocking laughter coming from all around. She took out a teddy bear from her bag, looked up, and gave her homeroom teacher, who was standing not far away, a sweet smile. "Teacher, could you please move aside?"

The female teacher calmly took a half step back, a slight upturn to one corner of her mouth. Her face, though still gentle, held an inexplicable chill and malevolence. Then… as the teddy bear transformed into human form, her expression suddenly fell.

Liao Yuewei was picked up and lifted by the teddy bear and placed back in her seat in just two seconds.

The homeroom teacher, who was about to bring up the rule that "pets are not allowed on campus," watched helplessly as the giant bear shrank and disappeared into the little girl's backpack. She felt a tightness in her chest and her open mouth stiffly closed.

Cheng Shuang didn't notice that the female teacher swallowed the words of her roar, because she was focused on taking out two pieces of cardboard, sticking double-sided tape on them, and propping up Liao Yuewei's tightly closed eyes in full view of everyone.

Seeing Liao Yuewei rolling her eyes at her, the homeroom teacher was so angry she could barely maintain her original expression. She was a ghost, and could become ferocious at the slightest provocation. But the little girl, who had obediently sat back down, blinked her innocent and bewildered eyes, tilted her head to look at her, and reminded her, "Class can start now, teacher. We can't delay everyone's lesson!"

"None of your business!"

The roar shook the entire school, and even the faint sounds of reading from other classrooms came to an abrupt halt.

The completely corrupted homeroom teacher disappeared, replaced by a charred female ghost. She wore dark, gray clothes and walked menacingly toward Cheng Shuang, leaving charred footprints with each step.

As if signaling, the girls in their seats revealed their eerie and terrifying true forms, and the air was instantly filled with a foul and complicated smell.

In an instant, the little girl witnessed different souls of people who died in different ways: decapitated, limbs separated, heads smashed to pieces... closely surrounding her.

Cheng Shuang glanced silently at Liao Yuewei, who was still unconscious, and felt inexplicably fortunate that the beautiful woman had fainted. Otherwise, she might have gone crazy and done something terrible in this chaotic scene!

The only one who looked normal in the entire classroom was probably the class monitor, Wu Qianyu. Blood was dripping from her abdomen, staining her entire body red. Her face was a mixture of pale and bluish-white, and her gaze flickered when Cheng Shuang looked at her.

The little girl smiled at her, showing no sign of panic.

There was nothing she could do; the gloomy monster was so confident that a sigh echoed in her mind without stopping, making it impossible for her to concentrate on being afraid. She even had to divert her attention to say, "Great job!"

The ghostly female students, mistakenly believing they were being praised: ...Heh, you thought this was a large-scale makeup removal meet-and-greet? Awesome? You're kidding me! ...Wait, no, they are ghosts after all! So annoying! And they don't even know what they're angry about!

The acrid smell of burning flesh drew closer. Cheng Shuang pouted and looked up at the charred face so close to hers—the distorted eye sockets, the hollow nose, and the withered, shriveled lips were even uglier than the mummy specimens in books.

As the charred female ghost spread her arms, flames emanating from her entire body, and lunged at her with menacing barbs, the little girl jumped up and called out to the door, "Teacher, are you here to deliver medicine? Thank you!"

As she spoke, she bowed, just in time to dodge the female ghost's pounce.

The door was pushed open.

A stern-looking female teacher stood outside the door, holding a pointer in one hand and a medicine tray in the other. She scanned the classroom and coldly questioned, "If you're not teaching, what are you doing?"

The charred-faced homeroom teacher shuddered for a moment, then turned around, her gentle and beautiful appearance returning. She forced a smile at the female teacher at the door and said, "It's...it's class time. Head of Teaching, what brings you here..." Suddenly, she turned her head to look at Cheng Shuang, a cold glint flashing in her eyes.

It turns out the female teacher I met on the fourth floor was the head of the teaching department!
