Chapter 106: Stealing People

Jiang Tao traveled day and night to return home, only to hear that Xuanyuan Huaiyu had not let go after the divorce, and wanted to marry Xi Pei as a concubine.

He came back with four servants this time. Jiang Tao called two of them over and ordered them to go back and pass on the message to the second and third in command.

After thinking about it, he called another person over and ordered them to check on Tian Xiaoshi. Based on his understanding of his father, this was not right.

If his father was just worried that he would compete with the Tian family for the person, he could have told his grandfather and mother about it from the beginning. There was no need to hide it.

Unless there is something else going on.

After giving the order, he turned back to the house. He saw his mother was still angry and his father was trying to comfort her.

Madam Jiang said, "If you're worried about him fighting with the Fifth Prince, just call her back. How can you just find anyone to be your son's wife?

What's wrong with our son? He's been on the payroll since he was nine, and he has a respectable job at the Ministry of Works. Over the years, he's been receiving six salaries, and he hasn't asked for a cent, giving it all home. He's been the most worry-free and sensible child since he was little. How could you possibly not see the good in this child?"

Jiang Tao stepped back.

Wang Xipei and her four maids were all tied up hand and foot, sitting in two carriages, escorted back to Kyoto by two teams of tall and powerful horses, both visible and secret guards.

Xuanyuan Huaiyu knew both of these guard captains and Wang Xipei, but they always looked down on Wang Xipei, even though she had been their mistress for five years.

Sometimes Wang Xipei felt that they were working hard, so she would cook some soup and make some soup noodles for the palace's guards, but all she got was their ridicule and contempt. The reason was that Xuanyuan Huaiyu's undisguised contempt and humiliation of her made them all know that Wang Xipei was just a servant.

They would behave badly and arrogantly and block her from entering any part of the palace, except for the study and Xuanyuan Huaiyu's courtyard. Later, if Ren Jiayu came, she, the legitimate princess, would have to stay in her own courtyard and not come out.

Ren Jiayu came and went to Xuanyuan Huaiyu's yard. Wang Xipei and the maid went to the garden to cut flowers and put them in a vase, but were stopped by the guards and not allowed to enter.

Wang Xipei asked: "Why?"

The captain of the guard said with a half-smile, "Miss Ren is here."

Wang Xipei still didn't understand: "She's here, so I can't go to the garden?"

The captain of the guard said, "If the master and Miss Ren want to visit the garden later, we will have to ask you to leave quickly, which will be very troublesome.

"The master will only scold you if you are an eyesore. If you offend Miss Ren, Master Ren will be displeased and will be furious. Why don't you just stay in your own yard and wait until Master Ren leaves before coming out? Why bother to implicate us?"

"Master Ren," the guards thought, was the true mistress. "Why bother implicating us?" Calling herself "we" to the nominal mistress was actually treating her as a servant, even less powerful than her.

Wang Xipei retreated three times, just hoping to close the door and live her own life, but it didn't work.

The captain of the guards arrived a moment later. "Actually, there's another place you can go. The master asked me to tell you that Miss Ren wants some hot beef patties, fresh out of the oven. You should go to the kitchen and prepare them. When Miss Ren's maid sends the message, you can start making them."

She waited in the kitchen for half an hour until Miss Ren left, but no one told her.

Wang Xipei remained open-minded in such a situation. She prepared the ingredients and ate the delicious beef patties with her maids. She distributed the rest to the kitchen and servants in several other places.

She is still happy.

The captain of the guard was a little surprised: "Why didn't you give it to us this time?" Then he thought: "Go away, who do you think is interested?!"

Just like Yang Yingxue who silently endured it, those who appeared to be fine and doing well were actually filled with sorrow that could not be expressed and the last bit of self-esteem that was barely being maintained.

During those years, there was no end, no exit. She would vomit out the beef patties that looked delicious when she finished them, all in the privacy of her own home. She tried to hold it in, wanting to gain weight so her parents and siblings wouldn't worry, but she couldn't help the surging tide.

Seeing the two captains, Wang Xipei remained silent and just adjusted her posture to make herself more comfortable.

The captain said with sarcasm on his face: "Concubine Chen, please feel free to ask for anything you want. The master has instructed that, apart from tying you up, you cannot be served slowly.

Wang Xipei didn't quite understand what Concubine Chen was, so she just said, "Then let go of my maid."

The captain said with a half-smile: "How can a servant untie the master first when he is tied up?"

Wang Xipei said, "You just can't do it? Then what are you talking nonsense about?" He closed his eyes and rested, no longer paying attention to the two people.

The second and third in command received Jiang Tao's order. Yu Xiao asked Peng Fei, "Boss, do you mean to take the person back?"

Peng Fei nodded: "It should be."

"Are you not afraid of this person's identity?"

"He didn't reveal his identity either."

Yu Xiao slammed the table and stood up: "What are we waiting for? Get started!"

The two teams of people escorting Wang Xipei and the horses they rode all started to suffer from diarrhea overnight. Doctors and veterinarians were called in to check it out, and they both said it was due to acclimatization.

He couldn't ride a horse, so he could only walk, and he had to carry five tied-up women with him, moving as fast as a turtle.

The two captains were anxious. The master had someone check a good date and was going to hold a grand ceremony to marry a concubine, so why was he being so particular about taking in a concubine?

But he didn't dare to delay his master's business, so he went to the dock to rent a big boat and take the water route instead.

It went smoothly indeed.

When they reached the wide river, five large ships suddenly approached from all sides. The two captains were confused as to what was going on when they saw the five ships raising their flags. On the bowmasts, the word "Tao" (Tao) was clearly fluttering in the wind.

As soon as the two surrounded large ships saw the flag signal "Tao", the sailors, helmsmen and captains on board all abandoned their ships and jumped into the river. After jumping into the water, the boatmen swam away, and small shipboards took the boatmen to the five large ships.
