Chapter 142 Three Questions

Luo Yunyan and the others landed and stood firm. As they were sizing up the cloud, a lazy voice sounded, "Are you ready to answer the questions?"

Luo Yunyan said: "Okay."

The voice said, "Lie down."

Lying down? In a defenseless position?

Luo Yunyan didn't move. The little boy lay down and pulled her: "Sister, don't you want to answer the question?"

Luo Yunyan lay down. Once she lay down, this huge glowing white cloud would automatically wrap around her. It was very comfortable, but it was also like being imprisoned.

The lazy voice sounded again: "Listen carefully, if you answer incorrectly, you will be beheaded.

I put human heads into a cloth bag, and the number of heads in the bag doubles every hour. After ten hours, my bag is full of heads. So, at what point do I have half a bag of heads?

Luo Yunyan: What kind of a weird question is this!

Suddenly he remembered Jiang Tao who was beside Wang Xipei, and immediately activated his magic. Three kites thousands of miles away suddenly rushed towards Wang Xipei and Jiang Tao.

Jiang Tao was looking at the intelligence reports sent in from all over the country, while Wang Xipei sat beside him and made a close-fitting nightgown for him.

Jiang Tao raised his eyes to look at her. Her gentle and well-behaved appearance made his heart soften every moment.

He stretched out his long arms, scooped her up, and held her in his arms as he continued to look through the intelligence report. Then, a hint of displeasure appeared between his brows. Wang Xipei followed his gaze and saw a report from Kyoto that Xuanyuan Huaiyu seemed to be building a garden and a villa for Concubine Chen.

Wang Xipei was about to coax him when three kites swooped over: "Head!" "Cloth bag!" "Filled!"

Jiang Tao and Wang Xipei were stunned when they heard Luo Yunyan's voice: "You three, talk it out! This cloud is trying to strangle me to death. Hurry up!"

Luo Yunyan felt that breathing was becoming more and more difficult. A small white cloud floated over, changed into the shape of a knife, and pressed on her neck.

Zhiyuan finally finished the question, and Jiang Tao's voice immediately rang out: "At the ninth hour."

Luo Yunyan hurriedly shouted out the answer.

The feeling of suffocation disappeared, and the cloud knife turned into a cloud towel, wiping Luo Yunyan's face as if to comfort her.

The lazy voice sounded again: "Cheating, this question is invalid. Listen carefully to the question..."

Wang Xipei waited for further news from Luo Yunyan, but there was no further news. She felt uneasy, wondering what had happened to Luo Yunyan.

Luo Yunyan said, "Why should it be invalidated? You didn't say I couldn't ask questions when you set the questions. Now that I've finished answering them, you say I can't ask. Isn't that bullying?"

After a while, the voice said, "Okay, you passed the first question. Little boy, listen carefully to my first question: Do you have someone you love most?"

The little boy has already answered: "Yes, I love my sister the most! Not the sister next to me!"

Luo Yunyan: ...There's no need to explain it so clearly.

The voice said, "Okay, little boy, you passed the first question. Now it's your turn. Listen carefully to the question and don't ask anyone else. If you answer incorrectly, your leg will be sawed off."

Luo Yunyan asked, "Aren't you being unfair?"

The voice said, "Yes, I always serve people according to their taste."

Luo Yunyan: ...Okay, you are cruel.

Two small white clouds floated over and turned into a big saw, which was placed on Luo Yunyan's legs.

The voice said, "A man said that he had only told three lies since he was born. A blind man heard this and said, 'Well, this is the fourth time you have lied.'"

Which of these two people is telling the truth?"

Luo Yunyan immediately replied: "The first person, he is telling the truth."

The voice said, "You answered quite quickly."

Luo Yunyan said: "My Central Plains dialect has improved. The blind man heard what he said, and it was nonsense. Nonsense is nonsense, it is a lie, so the first person said the truth."

The voice said, "So that's how you guessed it right."

Without the saw on her legs, Luo Yunyan thought carefully and understood: no matter whether the first person was telling the truth or a lie, what the second person said was wrong.

If the first person says that he has only told three lies that are true, then it cannot be that he lied for the fourth time.

If it is false, then this lie cannot be the fourth time he has told it.

The voice said, "If you guessed correctly, it was just luck. This question is invalid."

Luo Yunyan said, "Luck is part of my strength, and you didn't say I can't rely on luck. I guessed it right, and you say it's not okay. Are you bullying me?"

After another moment of silence, the voice said, "Alright, little kid, it's your turn. Who do you hate the most?"

The little boy said, "Three Northern Hun cavalrymen."

The voice said, "Passed. Now it's your turn. Third question. Don't ask anyone else. If you guess right, it won't count. If you answer wrong, you'll be poured into the fire."

Several furnace-shaped white clouds flew over right above Luo Yunyan. The furnaces were filled with hot molten rock. The white cloud furnaces were already tilted, and if they fell down a little more, all the molten rock would pour down on her.

Luo Yunyan was trapped in the "white cloud" and couldn't move. She clenched her hands as she looked at the "stove" hanging above her.

The voice said, "A puppy is tied to a tree trunk with a five-foot-long rope. The puppy is looking at a bone on the ground five feet and three inches away from it, but it can't reach it. The question is, how can the puppy grab the bone?"

Luo Yunyan immediately said, "Turn around and grab it with your hind legs."

The voice said, "You answered quickly this time too."

Those white cloud stoves disappeared, and the flowing fire hanging above her head was removed. Luo Yunyan breathed a sigh of relief.

She said, “Because I was tied up like this when I was a child, with the rope tied around my neck. The food was just a little bit away from me, but I couldn’t reach it. I was so hungry, so hungry.

Then I finally figured out a way: I turned around, lay on the ground, and used my feet to hook the food."

The voice was silent for a moment, then said, "My questions are over."

As soon as he finished speaking, the huge white cloud began to expand in an instant until it exploded with a bang. When he opened his eyes again, the fog in the soul-sucking formation had gradually dissipated.

Luo Yunyan could now clearly see herself standing on a boat, which was automatically sailing on a black water river.

From time to time, bloated corpses, limbs and heads floated in the river.

The little boy who had been holding hands with Luo Yunyan is now nowhere to be seen.

Suddenly, a hand stretched out from the Blackwater River and gripped the edge of the boat tightly. Luo Yunyan was startled, and when she looked again, she saw that it was a great monk sent by Tianyuan Temple.

He quickly reached out to help and pulled the man up.

Then, we encountered the second monk struggling in the river. When we pulled him up again, we felt that the boat had sunk a little deeper into the water.

When the fourth one was pulled up, the boat began to sink.

Luo Yunyan saw the fifth monk in front of her still struggling in the water.

In the end, the six big monks were all in the water, three on each side, holding the edge of the boat with their hands, leaving only Luo Yunyan sitting in the boat.

Just when they had a chance to catch their breath, a cliff suddenly appeared in front of them. The huge water flow formed a waterfall, and everyone fell off the cliff as the water flow suddenly became faster.
