On the way here, Hongli had already pondered this question. "I know what I should do, and in the past, I would have done so. But now, I am unwilling to go against my own will. Do you know why?"

He was nitpicking over the words, and Su Yushan pretended not to understand, "What's the difference?"
"If you don't dare, it means you still have complaints in your heart, but you just don't say them because of the rules."
He might say he'd interfere, but what she thought was none of his business, right? She was afraid of being laughed at if she spoke her mind, so Su Yushan preferred to avoid being direct and only offered polite words.
"I have no objection; you can do whatever you want."
"So you don't care! Looks like I was worrying for nothing, a wasted trip. Shall I go?" Hongli made a move to turn around, and Su Yushan panicked slightly, instinctively grabbing him. "Hey---"
