Chapter 110: Call Me Brother-in-Law!

After much thought, Su Yushan suggested that Yu Chan visit Baozhen Tower when she had time to have a chat with Miss He.

Yu Chan waved her hands repeatedly, "I can't do it, sister. You know I'm good with my own family, but I get timid in front of strangers, especially when it comes to polite words. What if I say something wrong and upset Miss He? Wouldn't that cause trouble for my second brother? You should go and say it, sister!"

On second thought, Su Yushan also felt she should meet Miss He in person. After all, young women are easily shy, and perhaps some of their words weren't entirely sincere. Only by speaking to her face and observing her expression could she determine her true thoughts.

"But if we want to go out to see Miss He, we must ask for Fourth Master's opinion."

"Sister, please tell Fourth Master that you want to go to Baozhen Tower. I think he will grant your request."

In the past, Su Yushan was certain that Hongli would take her along if she asked; it was just a matter of time. But now that the two had a falling out, she really didn't want to trouble him unless absolutely necessary.

"It's not as simple as you think."

In fact, when Yu Chan arrived, she had heard from the Fourth Master that he and Yu Shan had some minor conflicts. He did not go into the details of the reasons, but only asked her to help persuade Yu Shan.

Just then, Yu Chan's bright eyes lit up, and she urged, "It's just a matter of a word. For Second Brother's sake, just say a good word to Fourth Master!"

Despite her sister's repeated urging, Su Yushan remained hesitant, still thinking of other possible solutions.

Just then, Hongli returned.

Upon seeing this, Yu Chan immediately stood up and said, "Greetings to Fourth Master."

Chang Yue stepped forward to pour tea, and Hongli nodded and smiled in response, "Didn't I tell you to call him brother-in-law?"

Glancing at her sister, Yu Chan muttered softly, "But my sister won't let me call her that, saying it's against the rules."

Because of his favoritism towards Su Yushan, Hongli granted his sister this privilege, declaring, "My word is law!"

They each had their own version of events, leaving Yu Chan completely confused. "So who should I listen to?"

While the two were still arguing, Su Yushan remained seated, her slender fingers gently stroking the peony flowers embroidered on her skirt, without saying a word, as if it were none of her business.

After clearing his throat, Hongli said, "Listen to me when you're out, but listen to your sister at home."

It seems that Fourth Master still cares about his sister! Yu Chan covered her mouth and chuckled, indicating that she understood.

Seeing that her sister remained silent, Yu Chan took the initiative to speak, "Fourth Master, my sister has something to say to you! I'll go out now!"

"Huh?" Su Yushan frowned, wondering what was wrong with this girl? She hadn't even confirmed it yet! Yu Chan had already blurted it out, how was she supposed to handle this?

She tried to call out to her sister, but Yu Chan ran off so fast that she was out of the house in the blink of an eye. Only she and Hongli were left inside, creating an extremely awkward situation.

Hongli secretly praised Yu Chan for her keen perception, chuckled, and then sat down beside her, lifting his robe. Su Yushan, sitting opposite him, remained silent, her gaze deep and thoughtful.

He had grown accustomed to this way of getting along; she would never speak unless he said anything, so he was always the one to take the initiative. "Yu Chan said you have something to tell me?"

After a moment's hesitation, Su Yushan said, "Actually, it's not a big deal."

She hadn't spoken to him much lately, so it was a rare occasion for them to have something to talk about. Hongli was naturally delighted. "Your matter is of great importance. Just tell me directly."

"It's about Jia Feng's matter," Su Yushan said, having already slipped away. She had no choice but to recount the whole story to Hongli.

Upon hearing this, Hongli understood before she could speak, "You want to see that Miss He?"

Nodding, Su Yushan gave a soft "Mmm," and said, "I want to go to Baozhen Tower."

After speaking for a while without hearing him utter a sound, and seeing that he seemed somewhat troubled, Su Yushan did not press the matter further and took the initiative to say, "If it is inconvenient, then that's fine!"

After a moment of contemplation, Hongli looked up at her and said gently, "It's inconvenient, but... as long as it's your wish, I will do my best to help you fulfill it."

Their eyes met, like the blazing sun shining on the snow. He wanted to melt her heart, but her heart was as cold as ice, unmoved.

After a moment's thought, Hongli added, "But I have one condition."

"..." She knew he wouldn't agree so easily.

Bamboo said: Guess what Hongli's conditions were?
