Chapter 141: Miss Jade, Come with Me to the Capital!

Qinghe stayed at Fucha’s house for one night, and he couldn’t sleep at all. He had found his parents and his background had been revealed, but how was he going to explain things to Aunt Liu?

After much thought, he decided to go back, since Aunt Liu was still waiting for him to come home, and he couldn't let them keep waiting in vain.

However, Lady Jue Luo did not want her son to make the trip again. "It's cold in the winter months, and a long journey is too much of a hardship. If you want to send a message to them, you can just send someone. There's no need to go in person."

“If the servants don’t go, Aunt Liu definitely won’t believe them and will think they’re swindlers. I have to go and talk to them myself.” The more important reason Qinghe insisted on going was that he had other plans.

The son insisted on going, and Jue Luo had no choice but to send a few guards to accompany him in a carriage.

Liu, who lives at the foot of the mountain, is counting down the days. He was supposed to return in four days, but it's already the fifth day, and there's still no sign of him.

"Could something have happened to Qinghe?"

Yunfang reassured her not to worry, "Mother, Brother Qinghe is skilled in martial arts; ordinary bandits can't do anything to him."

"But what if the other side has more people? After all, he is only one person, and two fists can't fight four hands!" The more Liu thought about it, the more worried she became. She regretted agreeing to let him go to the capital. Moreover, her eyelids had been twitching for the past few days, and she had a vague sense of foreboding that something was going to happen.

Anxious and uneasy, Liu went to the main room to burn incense for the Bodhisattva, praying for Qinghe's safe return.

Yunfang had just finished washing her clothes and was hanging them out to dry in the courtyard when she suddenly heard footsteps outside. Turning around, she saw a person dressed in a crimson satin robe with bamboo patterns, a white jade belt around his waist, and black boots with silver thread. He was like a jade tree standing in the wind, elegant and dignified, adding color to the desolate winter day.

For a fleeting moment, Yunfang almost didn't recognize him. She tentatively asked, "Brother Qinghe? Is that you?"

Qinghe nodded and replied, "You don't even recognize me after four or five days?"

"Who told you to dress so elegantly? You must have gotten a good price for those furs, right?" Yunfang found him more and more pleasing to the eye and didn't hold back her praise. "Your outfit is really handsome! How much silver did it cost?"

Just as Qinghe was about to reply, a woman walked out of the main room. She moved with light steps and had a delicate appearance. It was none other than Yu'er.

After resting for seven or eight days, Su Yushan's back injury has improved a lot, and she can get out of bed and walk, but she has to go slowly. If she twists her body, it will still hurt, so she has to be extra careful.

Hearing the noise, she slowly came out of the inner room, and what came into her view was Qinghe dressed in brocade robes. His temperament was already outstanding, and with the brocade robes, he looked even more handsome.

Seeing this, Su Yushan guessed that he had successfully found his parents.

Before Su Yushan could speak, Madam Liu came out. Upon seeing Qinghe, her brows, which had been furrowed for several days, immediately relaxed.

"Qinghe! You're finally back!"

As she approached, she noticed he had changed his clothes; the fabric was clearly brocade, extremely expensive. Liu's ominous premonition grew stronger, but she refused to admit it, deliberately ignoring the fact, and pulled him into the house.

“It’s cold outside, let’s go inside and talk. Fang’er, go quickly and pour your brother a cup of hot tea.”

Qinghe said, "Mother, I'm not thirsty, so don't pour me any tea. I have something important to tell you."

Yunfang was originally going to the kitchen, but upon hearing this, she turned back and asked with a smile, "What's the matter? Why are you being so mysterious?"

Qinghe glanced at Yu'er and knew that if he told her the whole truth, Aunt Liu might resent Yu'er for giving him directions.

Not wanting to implicate Yu'er, he made up an excuse, omitting his trip to the capital to visit Baoyunzhai, and only saying that someone happened to recognize him while he was selling furs on the street...

After hearing his story, Liu's heart sank. No wonder she had been so restless lately; her premonition had been right. Qinghe had indeed found his home!

So what happens next? He'll definitely move back to the capital, and she'll never see him again, right?

Thinking of this, Liu burst into tears. She wanted to say congratulations, but she was so crying that she couldn't breathe and couldn't utter a complete sentence.

Yunfang and Yushan both chimed in, "Mother, it's a good thing that Qinghe has found his biological parents! You should be happy for him."

"Yes, Aunt Liu, every parent wants to reunite with their child. If he can come home, then there will be one more family reunited in this world. This is a blessing."

Liu understood the reasoning. "I know, but I just can't bear to part with Qinghe. I'm afraid that if we're far apart in the future, we'll never see each other again." After saying this, she sobbed and cried again, wiping her tears with her sleeve, but she couldn't wipe them away.

Qinghe understood Liu's feelings very well; he had come today precisely for this matter.

“Mother, I know you can’t bear to part with me, and I promised you that I would take care of you. I will not break my promise. Even though I have found my biological parents, I will not abandon you. I plan to bring you and Yunfang to live in the capital.”

After a brief pause, he turned to look at Yu'er and said softly, "And Miss Yu, let's go to the capital together."

The capital was a place Su Yushan desperately wanted to escape from; she never wanted to return to that place. "I don't want to go to the capital. You can take Aunt Liu and Yunfang there."

"If you don't go, how can they feel at ease coming with me?"

"It's alright, I can take care of myself, you don't need to worry." After saying that, Su Yushan went inside. There was no room for discussion on this matter; she was determined not to return to the capital!

However, Qinghe followed her in as soon as she entered the room, because Yunfang had just whispered to him that he had said something wrong.

Realizing that his statement might not be entirely accurate, Qinghe came in specifically to clarify.

“Miss Yu, have you misunderstood something? I didn’t bring you along just to take them with me. I genuinely want to take you with me, and I will continue to take care of you as before.”

Yunfang, who was listening outside, was getting anxious and couldn't help but rush in. "Brother Qinghe, can't you just say what you want to say? This roundabout way of speaking is making me anxious."

"I..." Qinghe wasn't ready yet, he was still hesitating whether to speak or not, but Yunfang couldn't wait and decided to help him out, "Let me tell him for you! Sister Yu'er, he likes you!"

Upon hearing this, Su Yushan was shocked and embarrassed. She whispered awkwardly, "Yunfang! You can't say things like that."

“I’m not making this up. Do you remember that hand warmer? He said it was my mother who asked him to get it, but my mother never said that. It was his own idea. He was afraid you wouldn’t accept it, so he used my mother as an excuse.”

She actually knew about this? Caught off guard, Qinghe blushed slightly and scoffed, "Yunfang! Stop talking!"

Yunfang used to listen to him, but this time, she couldn't go along with him anymore. "But that's what you think, Qinghe-ge. Liking someone isn't something to be ashamed of. How long are you planning to keep this a secret?"

Bamboo said: Today's second installment is quite long. It should have been posted in two parts, but I didn't want the hassle, so I'm posting it as a single post.
