Chapter 159 Hongli's Confession

Nodding, Yunfang smiled and replied, "Yes, I have! That handkerchief is so beautifully embroidered. Sister Yu saw that I liked it very much, so she gave it to me."

Hearing this, Hongli felt a little relieved and continued, "That was our token of love. We had a fight back then, which is why she gave it away. Now I want to get the handkerchief back. I hope you won't mind?"

"Of course I don't mind, but," Yunfang pursed her lips, feeling a bit awkward.

Her hesitation caused Hongli's eyes to narrow, a sense of foreboding washing over him. "What's wrong? Is there something you're having trouble telling me?"

Yun Fang's heart pounded like a drum. After calming herself down, she said, "That day, Qinghe, no, the Second Young Master, was injured and needed to be bandaged. At the time, I didn't have anything I could use, so I just used a handkerchief to temporarily bandage him. Later, he returned to the capital, and I didn't have time to ask him for the handkerchief back. I don't know if he still has it."

Yunfang said this because Fu Qing had come to see her yesterday.

After Hongzhou left the Fucha family yesterday, Fu Qing noticed that although his handkerchief was still there, the way it was placed had changed. At that time, he suspected that Hongzhou had seen the handkerchief.

If Hongzhou knew about it, he would probably tell the Fourth Prince soon. Fu Qing became more and more uneasy.

He wasn't afraid of others knowing his feelings, but Yu Shan had already returned to the Fourth Prince's side. She had made her decision, and he couldn't harm her. If the Fourth Prince found out about this, he would definitely become suspicious, and Yu Shan's life would not be easy.

Of course, it's possible that he's overthinking things, and perhaps the Fifth Prince doesn't even recognize the handkerchief. But just in case, Fu Qing decided to go find Yun Fang and specifically instructed her on how to answer if anyone asked about the handkerchief.

At that time, Yunfang thought Fu Qing was making a mountain out of a molehill. It wasn't until Li Yu came to see her and the Fourth Prince questioned her personally that she realized that, just as Fu Qing had predicted, the Fourth Prince was indeed suspicious!

In reality, she was extremely nervous, but she had to deliberately joke around and appear calm and nonchalant.

Fortunately, after hearing her words, the Fourth Prince's sharp gaze gradually softened. Yun Fang then said, "I didn't know that it was a token of love between you and Sister Yu. If I had known, I certainly wouldn't have given it to anyone else. Please forgive me, Fourth Prince."

Yu Shan and Yun Fang had not met, so there was no possibility of them communicating. Their accounts were remarkably consistent, which put Hongli at ease, and he no longer harbored any doubts.

"Ignorance is no excuse, but that is still a keepsake between me and Yushan. You can ask for the handkerchief back when you have time."

"Yes, I will obey Fourth Master's orders."

After asking the questions, Hongli's doubts dissipated, and he got up to go to his study. Li Yu then took Yunfang to Huatang Pavilion to visit Su Gege.

Su Yushan had already woken up and was taking her medicine.

Although Hongli's words were hurtful, she had to cherish her own body. Therefore, she would follow the doctor's orders and take her medicine obediently, so as not to ruin her body for a man.

After drinking the bitter medicine in one gulp, Su Yushan took the teacup and rinsed her mouth. Suddenly, someone outside came to report that Miss Yunfang had arrived.

Upon hearing this, Su Yushan was immediately alarmed! Why was Yunfang here? Did Hongli summon her for questioning? And what about Fu Qing? Did Hongli also summon him for a confrontation?

Not knowing how they would answer, Su Yushan nervously stared at the door, only to see Yun Fang happily enter. Upon seeing her, she beamed, "Sister Yu, I've finally met you!"

"Yunfang!" At this moment, Su Yushan was filled with complicated emotions, and a thousand words were stuck in her throat. For a moment, she didn't know what to ask. After all, there were other people in the room, and she dared not speak carelessly.

Knowing that she was worried, Yunfang winked at her before saying, "Sister Yu, next time you're angry, you can't give me the love token between you and Fourth Master. I didn't expect that handkerchief to be so valuable. I used it to bandage someone, and Fourth Master was still angry. You have to coax him when you have time."

Upon hearing this, Su Yushan was stunned. She had not consulted with Yun Fang, so how could Yun Fang's and her statements match up?

How exactly did Yunfang realize this? Did Fu Qing remind her? Or did she sense something?

Su Yushan was puzzled, but didn't want to ask too many questions. "Never mind!" she thought, forcing a smile. "As long as I haven't given myself away."

"Okay, I understand. Where is Aunt Liu? Is she settling in comfortably in the capital?"

"At first, she really couldn't get used to living there. After all, she likes to visit other people's homes, and she didn't know any of the new neighbors, so she was inevitably anxious. But she couldn't break this habit, and within a few days she got to know two neighboring families. Whenever she had free time, she would go to their homes to sit and chat with them!"

When Yunfang arrived, laughter finally filled the long-depressed Huatang Pavilion.

Chang Yue secretly praised Yun Fang for her eloquence, always managing to make her mistress laugh. She herself wanted to cheer her mistress up, but unfortunately, she was clumsy with words and only knew how to act. Now that Yun Fang was starting the conversation and telling some amusing stories, at least she could make her mistress laugh, which would also lift her spirits.

The two stayed together all day, having endless things to talk about, but unfortunately, dusk eventually fell and darkened the sky.

Seeing Chang Yue lighting the lamp, Su Yushan felt inexplicably lost, yet helpless.

She planned to have Yunfang stay for dinner, saying it wouldn't be too late for her to leave after dinner. Yunfang covered her mouth and laughed, "Not only will I have dinner here, I'll stay here tonight!"

This is Su Yushan's predicament: "I really want you to stay, but this family isn't my decision-making power, and I can't make decisions on my own."

Yunfang couldn't help but sigh. Although Yu'er lived a life of luxury, she still had no freedom. She was truly pitiful.

Gently patting her hand, Yunfang softly comforted her, "Don't worry, Fourth Master has already said that I will stay here with you for a few days."

Hongli actually allowed Yunfang to live in the mansion? Su Yushan was quite surprised, but after thinking about it carefully, she felt that it was indeed something he could do.
