"Didn't you ever consider that I might be the one to back out?"
"You dare!" Hongli was the first to disagree. "This opportunity is very important to you, and I will not let you give it up. I am very pleased that Gao Xiuwen is willing to give it up. If she withdraws, then the person who assists in managing the harem can only be you."
His words were a bit too absolute. "Even if Consort Rong is ill, there is still Consort Xian! It doesn't necessarily have to be me. The Empress Dowager probably wouldn't agree."
Hongli smiled mysteriously, "You'll know the answer soon enough."
He always liked to keep things a secret, and Su Yushan was used to it, but at this moment she suddenly remembered something.
"Hey---That day you kept me in suspense, and I fulfilled your conditions, but you failed to keep your promise. I said I would punish you, but I haven't had a chance to do so yet!"
That night, Hongli and his brother Hongzhou were playing chess and returned a little late. By the time he arrived, she had already gone to sleep and had forgotten about it. But tonight, she suddenly remembered and started settling old scores with him.
Hongli didn't deny it, and immediately sat up, throwing off the covers. "Isn't it just punishment? I'll keep my word. Bring it on!"
As he spoke, Hongli slightly raised his long fingers and deftly unfastened his bright yellow inner robe.
Su Yushan was startled by what she saw. She pulled the quilt over herself, her face filled with fear, and asked, "What are you doing?"
Hongli turned his gaze to her, his eyes calm and composed. "Aren't you going to punish me? I am willing to accept the punishment."
Meeting his expectant gaze, Su Yushan pouted unhappily, "When did I say I would punish you like this? Besides, this isn't really a punishment, it's clearly a reward, okay?"
“This is punishment for you, and it’s the same for me. You’re talking to me about fairness, aren’t you? This is fairness.”
He was adept at making excuses, and Su Yushan couldn't argue with him. She suddenly regretted bringing up the topic, but Hongli wouldn't let it go and insisted on accepting the punishment.
"I'm not as stingy as you. I can do it as many times as you want, it's up to you."
If she were shy, he would only become more arrogant. To curb his arrogance, Su Yushan changed her usual attitude and challenged him, "How many times is fine? How about seven times?"
Hongli looked at her in surprise, his eyes filled with undisguised joy, and a slight smile appeared on his lips, "I couldn't ask for more!"
The most he's ever done is five times, and he really wants to experience what it's like to do it seven times.
She gave him a reproachful look and scoffed, "If it really happens seven times, I'm afraid you won't be able to go to court tomorrow."
As soon as she finished speaking, she received a warning look from Hongli. "What did you say? Say it again."
