The Empress Dowager was determined to get to the bottom of this and immediately ordered someone to summon Consort Chun for a confrontation.
After everyone left, Su Yushan changed into a lotus-colored dress embroidered with orchids. Then she took Yongzhang to the Imperial Garden to admire the flowers. When they arrived, they found that Gao Xiuwen had not returned to Zhongcui Palace and was also in the Imperial Garden. The two of them sat in the pavilion to drink tea and chat, while Yongzhang chased butterflies in the nearby grass.
After catching a butterfly, Yongzhang ordered a young eunuch to put it in a small covered basket, and even showed it to his mother.

“That’s right!” Even Su Yushan found the relationship between these children amusing. “Yonghuang is very kind to him, Rongyu is very fierce to him, but he just likes to hang around Rongyu.”
As the two were chatting and laughing, a eunuch came to deliver a message, saying that the Empress Dowager invited Consort Chun to Cining Palace.
Su Yushan's smile faded, and she became suspicious. Why would the Empress Dowager want to see her out of the blue? Could it be about the matter of changing the rules?
