While Jin Minjing was still thinking about how to deal with Xin'er, Lizhi was pondering the Fourth Prince's thoughts. "Xin'er's crime has been determined. Even if the Fourth Prince doesn't kill her, he should at least punish her severely. Why let her go so easily, Princess? Don't you think there's something fishy about it?"
"That's because Su Jiafeng is protecting her," Jin Minjing sneered, secretly lamenting that he had underestimated Xin'er. "This little vixen has an unparalleled talent for seducing men. If it weren't for Su Jiafeng's protection, how could she have left the mansion alive?"
Lizhi's dark eyes darted around as she pondered, "No matter how much Su Jiafeng pleads, the final decision still rests with Fourth Master. I always feel that Fourth Master's actions have a deeper meaning. He may have deliberately let her go to see if you, Princess, will take action against Xin'er."
Having just relaxed, Kim Min-jung tensed up again upon hearing her words. "I've already cleared my name, so why does he have the right to suspect me?"
“There is indeed no evidence to prove that we did it, but Su Gege is jealous of you, and she will definitely continue to whisper in your ear to get the Fourth Prince to investigate this matter. I think that this is a special time, and you must not take any action, otherwise it will be very easy for the Fourth Prince to find out.”
Li Zhi's words forced Jin Minjing to reconsider. "Then what do you suggest? Are we just going to let Xin'er run wild? I can't swallow this!"
“Xin’er has already identified you today, but the Fourth Prince did not convict you, which shows that her words are useless because she has no evidence! So Princess, you don’t need to take her to heart. What I’m most worried about is actually Yao Kun.”
Jin Minjing, however, didn't take it seriously. "Yao Kun's son is still in our hands, he wouldn't dare to say anything out of line."
“That may be true, but he knows the inside story! This man cannot be allowed to live!” Li Zhi reminded him repeatedly. For his own safety, Jin Minjing finally decided to deal with Yao Kun first, without touching Xin’er.
But she still had concerns: "Yao Kun is still locked up in the mansion, how can we make a move? What if Demin discovers it again?"
“It’s better to keep him locked up. Wasn’t he tortured? That will make it easier for him to die!” Lizhi smiled meaningfully and whispered in his ear.
Jin Minjing had no other choice but to follow Lizhi's suggestion. She didn't need to worry about Chen Feng, as he was absolutely loyal to her. As long as Yao Kun was dealt with, she could rest easy!
Yao Kun remained stubborn and didn't tell the truth, simply because he only had one son, who was still in their hands. For the sake of the Yao family line, he insisted on not giving in.
Li Yu was very careful; each time he tortured Yao Kun, he did not kill him, but left him with a breath, all in order to make him change his mind. However, no one expected that two days later, when the guards opened the door to deliver food, they found that Yao Kun had already died!
They had someone come and examine the food, and there was no poison in it. The doctor said that he must have fainted due to severe internal injuries and that he hadn't received timely treatment, which is why he was in this state.
However, Hongli felt that the matter was not so simple and that someone must have done something in secret to cause Yao Kun's sudden death.
The first person he thought of was Jin Minjing. This sudden situation was truly unexpected for Hongli. "Jin Minjing didn't touch Xin'er, but instead targeted Yao Kun. What exactly is she planning?"
Su Yushan also felt something was strange, and sighed with a wry smile, "It seems you can't be the mantis that catches the worm."
"Yao Kun murdered his own daughter; he certainly deserved to die. It's just a pity he didn't vomit anything before he died, making his death utterly meaningless." Even now, Hongli still can't understand this matter.
“I’ve had my men keep a close eye on Jin Minjing, but I haven’t seen her make any moves. How exactly did she instruct Yao Kun, and how did she poison him?”
What's so difficult about that? "The people inside the manor can't do it, but the people outside can!"
Upon hearing this, Hongli suddenly had a flash of inspiration, "You mean... her family?"
Su Yushan stopped there, leaving him to think it over himself. "I was just talking nonsense, I have no evidence, don't take it seriously."
If it was her family members who were pulling strings behind the scenes, then it would make sense. Jin Minjing acted recklessly because her family members were officials, and Hongli had been trying to guard against them, but he hadn't expected that he was guarding against the wrong person!
With a long sigh, Hongli wearily rubbed his forehead, closed his eyes, and sighed in silence.
Knowing he was in a bad mood, Su Yushan walked slowly behind him, placed her slender fingers on his shoulders, and gently but firmly massaged his shoulders.
"Since things have come to this, let's just let it go! I don't want to investigate anymore. As long as you understand what kind of person she is, as long as you trust me, that's enough."
Knowing who the murderer was, yet having no evidence, was indeed frustrating. Fortunately, Su Yushan didn't blame him; instead, she comforted him gently, which made him feel a little better. He took her hand in return and said guiltily:
"I'm so sorry you had to suffer!"
Having suffered injustice for so long, she gradually came to terms with it. This matter had troubled her for many days; it was a dead end ahead, and she had no choice but to turn around. She couldn't just stand there foolishly, refusing to move forward and torturing herself. Therefore, Su Yushan decided to compromise with fate.
“I’ve come to terms with it and don’t want to let irrelevant people affect my mood anymore. She was lucky this time and escaped by chance. If she causes trouble again one day and tries to harm others, I hope you can deal with it decisively.”
“Of course,” Hongli said, looking at her with unwavering determination. “I will definitely strengthen the guards and protect you. If she dares to act recklessly again, I will not let her off lightly!”
Will Kim Min-jung learn her lesson after this incident? No! Su Yu-shan thinks she will remain complacent and continue to act recklessly.
The conflict between the two of them deepened and could never be resolved in this lifetime. Su Yushan was indeed very disappointed that she failed to bring down Jin Minjing this time, but she always believed that good and evil would be rewarded in the end, and Jin Minjing would be no exception!
When Xin'er learned of Yao Kun's death, she felt no sadness. She had no feelings for this father, and Yao Kun had even tried to poison her. Such a person deserved to die.
