Chapter Twenty-Nine: Fifth Prince Hongzhou

Chang Yue had originally planned to stay and help her master change, but the Fourth Master's sudden outburst left her unsure whether to stay or leave. She awkwardly turned away.

"This servant knows nothing. This servant will go out first."

She was about to leave when her master called her back, "No need to avoid suspicion, hurry up and change your clothes! I'm waiting to go out and play!"

Su Yushan couldn't wait to leave the mansion. Hongli knew she was eager to travel, so he stopped teasing her and waited for her to change in the outer room before taking her out of the mansion with him.

Upon reaching the gate of the mansion, she noticed two carriages parked outside. The curtain of the rear carriage, with its red canopy and vermilion wheels, had been lifted, revealing a handsome, roguish face. The young man appeared to be about sixteen or seventeen years old. As soon as he saw them emerge, he called out loudly:

"Fourth Brother!"

When he caught sight of Su Yushan, his eyes lit up slightly, and he nodded in greeting, politely calling her "Little Sister-in-law".

Before this, he had been wondering why his fourth brother, Banzhen, would take a woman out for a stroll. What kind of charm did this maid from Jiangnan possess that could make his fourth brother neglect his duties? It wasn't until he met Su Yushan in person and witnessed her beauty that he finally understood why his fourth brother was so fond of her.

It is indeed rare to find a woman who can combine seven parts elegance and three parts charm. But if she is only outstanding in appearance, she may not be able to capture the heart of the fourth prince. Perhaps it is her special personality that pleases him and makes him value her so much.

Su Yushan was unaware of the man's scheming thoughts. She was only thinking: She wasn't Hongli's wife, so what kind of sister-in-law was she? This young man must know, which was why he added the word "young" to save face for her without being impolite.

Curious, she tilted her head and asked Hongli, "And who is this...?"

But Hongli introduced him, saying, "He is my fifth brother. I told him I would take you sightseeing, but he insisted on coming along."

It turns out to be the Fifth Prince, Hongzhou! Rumors say that Hongzhou is a spoiled and arrogant prince, and seeing him today, he certainly exudes an air of arrogance.

"Wouldn't it be more lively with more people? Sister-in-law, you don't mind, do you?" Hongzhou specifically asked for her opinion. Su Yushan didn't have any objections. She wanted to go out and enjoy the scenery, not to have a romantic evening with Hongli. The number of people didn't matter to her.

"Fifth Master, you're too kind. We're all family, so there's no need to stand on ceremony."

After exchanging greetings, Hongli led her into the carriage in front.

She glanced over and noticed a young woman sitting in Hongzhou's carriage, so she asked curiously, "Is the one accompanying you Fifth Master's maid?"

Shaking his head, Hongli said, "That's a girl from Liuxiang Pavilion. It's said she's a 'pure' male prostitute who only sells her art."

"He must have maids in his household, right? Why is he going out to have fun?"

Why else could it be? Hongli guessed to himself, "Homegrown flowers are never as fragrant as wild ones!"

Tsk! So that's how men think? Su Yushan nodded in understanding. "Okay! I get it." As she said this, she gave him a meaningful look.

Hongli pondered this carefully before realizing something was amiss. "What do you understand? I'm talking about the fifth prince. I don't have any other women, only you, my precious flower. I'm busy feeding you every day, how could I have time to think about anyone else?"

These meaningful words made her blush. She quickly reached out and covered his lips, nervously reminding him, "The driver is still ahead! Don't talk nonsense, it would be embarrassing if someone heard us."

A faint jasmine scent wafted from her fingertips, making one's thoughts drift. Hongli's eyes curved slightly as he smiled and praised, "How fragrant!"

His warm breath tickled her palm, making it slightly itchy. Realizing something was amiss, she tried to pull her hand away, but he grabbed it and pulled her into his arms.

"You delivered yourself to my doorstep, do you think I'd let you off the hook?"

Su Yushan complained, "I just covered your lips for a moment, I didn't do anything excessive."

"Your lips are very sensitive, and so are mine..." Hongli's words were loaded with meaning, and a flame was clearly hidden in his eyes. Su Yushan knew things were going badly and begged for mercy.

"But we're out here, we absolutely can't do anything reckless."

Hongli knew his limits, but deliberately scared her and took the opportunity to negotiate with her, "Then kiss me and I'll let you go."

Why does he always try to take advantage of me? "Didn't we kiss enough last night?"

We kissed quite a few times, but the meaning was different each time. "It was always me who initiated the kisses; you never did."

Imagining that scene, Su Yushan buried her head in embarrassment, "How embarrassing! I'm so ashamed."

"It's alright, with the carriage curtain in place, they won't dare to lift it casually, and no one will see."

“That won’t do either,” she said, refusing to comply no matter how he coaxed her, insisting that they would talk about it later that night.

With her assurance, Hongli was quite relieved. "You said it yourself, you have to take the initiative tonight."

Who knows what might happen tonight? For now, she'll agree to appease him temporarily so she can have some peace of mind.

As soon as Hongli released her grip, she moved to the carriage window. As the floral cotton curtain was lifted, an autumn breeze swirled in, carrying the fresh scent of grass and trees. Su Yushan closed her eyes and gently inhaled, feeling utterly refreshed.

"The smell of the wind is so nice."

A gentle breeze ruffled her hair, and soft sunlight bathed her fair face. Leaning against the window, she blended seamlessly with the scenery outside, creating a picture-perfect scene that captivated him.

The scenery along the way is constantly changing, from houses and small bridges to fields and forests. Nature's brush is incredibly skillful, painting distinct layers of flowing clouds on the azure sky, creating a series of captivating pictures.

The beautiful scenery outside the mansion dazzled her, and Su Yushan kept leaning against the window, happily sharing it with him.

"Look at that pond of withered lotus leaves, it's just like an ink painting. The clouds in the sky are also beautiful, and the purple flowers by the roadside are so pretty! I don't know what they're called."
