Chapter 119 Rescue and Injury

"Skinny Monkey, how did you manage to kidnap these two? Weren't you supposed to be targeting children this time?" The fat man slapped Skinny Monkey and then asked with a fierce look on his face.

Skinny Monkey's eyes gleamed: "Brother, these two kids look like they come from a wealthy family. I figured even if I couldn't sell them, I could still get a lot of money from their families, so I just kidnapped them."

The fat man stared at him for a few seconds, then slapped him twice more, the force of which caused the skinny monkey to spit out a mouthful of blood.

Skinny Monkey dared not hide it any longer: "It was Little Fairy who said it. She said that all the children we brothers sold were not as valuable as these two. Maybe after we finish this one deal, we can retire from this business and I will have the money to marry her."

The fat man spat disdainfully: "You're really something, refusing a virgin and insisting on marrying a prostitute. Your mother would be so happy she'd jump out of her grave if she knew."

The skinny monkey, too ashamed to look up, was followed up by the fat man who asked, "What did that little fairy say to you?"

“Little Fairy said today is the last day of the temple fair, and many rich kids have sneaked out to play, which is perfect for us to make our move.” Skinny Monkey recalled, “Brother, you know what, as soon as I stood at the temple fair, I immediately spotted those two fat sheep. They were too obvious in the crowd.”

"Fool, you don't even realize you're being used as a scapegoat." The fat man, as the leader of the human traffickers, still had some sense. "These two children can't be kept alive. Kill them and bury them on the spot."

Hongyu shuddered as he listened, and the girl behind him trembled like a leaf.

This group is not only human traffickers, but also desperate criminals with lives on their hands. This is terrible.

To make matters worse, Hongyu felt his body temperature gradually dropping; he was about to develop a high fever.

Revealing your identity at this point could very well provoke the human traffickers who are already contemplating murder.

Upon receiving the fat man's order, the skinny monkey hesitated, while the woman called the third brother pulled a kitchen knife from her bosom.

Just as Hongyu closed his eyes, thinking that his life was over, a sound came from the ceiling.

"Brother, it's a bit suspicious that this chess club is closed in broad daylight." Hongyu wasn't familiar with the voice that came out, but he knew the person who followed all too well; they studied together every day!

“This place is very close to the city gate, a place for merchants to rest. Moreover, Go has always been a refined art for scholars, which perfectly satisfies the merchants’ desire to show off.” Honghui pushed open the door, the lock of which had been forcibly broken. “This place should be packed with people. It’s closed in broad daylight. Something’s definitely up. Search!”

"Big brother, Father said that Brother Hongyu is not in good health. I hope nothing bad will happen to him." Hongyun is a kind-hearted child.

"Do your best and leave the rest to fate." Honghui walked to the kitchen, took a few quick steps, and suddenly felt something was wrong. He stomped his right foot hard and listened carefully, and could hear a very obvious echo.

Upon seeing this, the guards who had come with them immediately surrounded the kitchen.

"Looks like he's not here. Maybe the boss quit and went back to his hometown. Brother Hongyu is still waiting for us, let's go!" Honghui called out.

The human traffickers, hiding underground, breathed a sigh of relief as they listened to the footsteps fading away above.

After waiting a while longer without hearing any sound, the fat man kicked the skinny monkey, signaling him to open the door and go out quickly.

Skinny Monkey was the first to reluctantly push open the hidden door above his head and climb up the ladder.

Seeing that the skinny monkey had successfully climbed up, the fat man followed suit and climbed out as well, only to be caught red-handed by Honghui and his men who were lying in wait.

Two people went up one after another without making a sound. Even the most oblivious person on the ground would realize that something was wrong up there.

The third brother thought for a moment, then pulled the girl out from behind Hongyu, signaling her to go first, while he followed behind her.

When Fucha Wanling saw the light of day again, she didn't even have time to marvel at how dazzling the sunlight was before a kitchen knife was pressed against her neck.

The cold, bloody touch startled Fucha Wanling, and she dared not move.

The third brother, holding Fucha Wanling hostage, saw that Fatty and Skinny Monkey were both being held at knifepoint and crawling on the ground.

Honghui saw half of the girl's face; her eyes and above were completely obscured by messy hair, making it impossible to see clearly. Judging from the curve of her jawline, she was a pretty girl.

"Are you here to see her?" the third brother asked in a shrill voice.

Hongyun spoke frankly: "We're looking for a boy who's about the same age as my older brother."

"Hahaha, so that means she's not the person you're looking for, and she's of no use to you." The third brother stated bluntly, "Then go die."

After saying that, he immediately chopped the blood vessel with the cleaver.

Honghui didn't expect the human trafficker to dare to hurt people. He used his internal strength to spin and slide in front of Lao San, pressing the girl into his arms. Then he used his right hand to meet Lao San's kitchen knife.

In the blink of an eye, the kitchen knife was stuck in Honghui's forearm. Fucha Wanling was so frightened that she didn't know what to do, and just stared blankly at Honghui's wound.

The third brother had already been hacked to death by the surrounding guards.

The fat man seemed unable to bear looking at him and looked away, while the skinny monkey sighed with a sense of shared sorrow.

The guards immediately followed the entrance to the cellar and rescued the people trapped inside one by one. Hongyu was the first to be pulled up.

He didn't mind the smelly coat, wrapping it tightly around his body, his lips already turning slightly purple from the cold.

Hongyu smiled at Honghui: "I recognize your voice. I'm indebted to you."

Honghui had a kitchen knife stuck in his arm, and Hongyun was so anxious that he jumped up and down, but dared not pull it out directly.

"Third brother, give Brother Hongyu his coat to change into, and also give him a piece of ginseng we brought to suck on. Let's go to the Prince Zhi's residence."

"Brother, your injury."

"He won't die."

"Brother Hongyu, how are you feeling?"

"I will not die."

Honghui sent guards to the palace, the residence of the Prince of Zhi, and the residence of the Fourth Prince to let everyone know that the person had been found.

When they arrived at the Prince Zhi's residence, the Prince Zhi was pacing anxiously back and forth at the entrance. Hearing the sound of carriages and horses, he quickened his pace and saw Hongyu being helped down from the carriage.

“Hongyun greets Lord Zhi. Brother Hongyu has caught a chill. Please have the imperial physician examine him. My elder brother has only suffered a minor injury, so we will not disturb Lord Zhi.”

"What minor injury?" Prince Zhi was relieved and immediately ordered his servants to carry Hongyu inside.

Seeing that Honghui had not gotten off the carriage, Prince Zhi immediately lifted the curtain. He saw Honghui leaning against the carriage, his face pale, with a kitchen knife stuck in his arm and blood flowing down half of his body.

"Big brother, how did it get so serious? Didn't you say it was just a minor injury?" Hongyun immediately became anxious.

Prince Zhi had never seen such an honest child before, and immediately carried Honghui out of the carriage: "Come in, everyone. The imperial physician is inside. Go to the Fourth Prince's residence to deliver a message."

Hongyun followed behind him, completely bewildered, clearly terrified by the amount of blood loss.
