Chapter 122 Lingzhu

Lingzhu really didn't know what to say. Was the Fourth Prince's mansion some kind of monster's cave? His perfectly fine daughter went in and went crazy.

A fanatical madness flashed in Niohuru's eyes: "If he won't have Hongli with me, then I'll find someone else to have him with!"

Lingzhu instinctively pushed the door open, and after confirming that no one was eavesdropping, he slammed the door shut again. Ignoring the stench emanating from his daughter, he leaned closer and shouted sternly, "Are you crazy? How dare you say such a thing!"

"My daughter has been insane for a long time! Do you know what a dark and hopeless life I've lived in the Prince's mansion all these years?" Niohuru shouted hysterically. "I want him dead, they all to die!"

"Father, the Prince wants to kill me!" Niohuru suddenly changed to a pitiful tone, but paired with the clay-painted face, it looked somewhat incongruous.

“He has already made his move, look.” Niohuru tore open the clothes at the neck, revealing a shocking wound across her neck, like a strangulation mark.

"Father, has the Prince told you of my death?"

Lingzhu's eyelids twitched violently. Ever since he met his daughter today, every word Daya said had been challenging his nerves.

“This was done by the Prince himself. If it weren’t for my good fortune, he would have thought I was dead and I wouldn’t have been able to escape.” Niohuru grabbed Lingzhu’s hand. “Father, I can change my identity and enter the Crown Prince’s residence as an adopted daughter of the Niohuru family or something.”

"You still remember those prophetic dreams our daughter had, right?" Empress Niohuru gave it a strong dose of advice. "It seems she misunderstood them all before, but recently she dreamed of the Crown Prince's ascension to the throne. Isn't that worth a gamble?"

Lingzhu was somewhat tempted, yet also hesitant: "But you've been married before."

Niohuru bit her lip with some shame and indignation: "It's just blood, I've thought of a way to get away with it."

"Once the rice is cooked, half the goal is achieved."

"What is the other half?" Lingzhu asked.

"Give birth to Hongli!" Niohuru suddenly grinned, her expression completely unserious. "Hongli! My Hongli!"

Seeing that Niohuru was somewhat delirious, Lingzhu subconsciously shook his head: "This matter is too absurd. Father is powerless to help. You and Father should go home. Father can still support you."

Niohuru shook her head frantically: "No, you can't help me, then I'll do it myself!"

After saying that, he poured all the snacks on the table into his arms, and in the blink of an eye, he pushed open the door to the private room and disappeared without a trace.

Lingzhu was somewhat uneasy, wondering if his daughter, who had been strange since childhood, would bring utter disaster to the Niu Hulu family.

Thinking this, Lingzhu instructed the shopkeeper: "Keep an eye on that beggar who was with me. If you see him again, remember to notify me immediately."

"Oh, and I'll also prepare some cloud cakes for him."

"Yes, sir." The shopkeeper nodded and bowed, feeling extremely frustrated. These beggars all looked the same; how was he supposed to tell them apart?

Putting aside Niohuru's schemes, Yinzhen did feel that this woman was extraordinary. Although he had confirmed her death information repeatedly, he still felt that something was not quite right, so he kept sending people to secretly keep an eye on Lingzhu's residence.

Sure enough, Lingzhu's family acted strangely. The scouts said that Lingzhu had been absent-minded ever since he returned from the jade shop and hadn't come out of his study.

He also made sure to pay special attention to a little beggar.

Yinzhen found this matter quite interesting.

He continued to stare at the jade shop in Lingzhu's mansion. Was Niohuru really not dead?

Yinzhen sneered. He wanted to see what this woman could do after she was free!

Honghui is being forced to stay in bed by Yihua. It's the first time Liuliu has seen her older brother lying in bed without getting up. She finds it very interesting and comes every day without fail to "blow" on Honghui's arm. According to her, blowing on it will make it stop hurting.

"Big brother wasn't in pain to begin with." Although Honghui liked his sister's closeness, he wasn't actually disabled.

Liu Liu stretched out her chubby little hand and pushed Hong Hui down onto the bed: "It hurts. Mother said that big brother bled a lot and it hurts a lot."

Well, if Honghui could connect with the children from his previous life, he would definitely agree with one of these statements.

There's a kind of pain that only your mom can feel.

There was no other way but to keep Honghui at home.

What Honghui found even more unbearable was that his mother suddenly asked him, "Is that little girl from the Fucha family pretty?"

He answered instinctively, "He's alright looking, but a bit silly."

Honghui looked up and saw Yihua's suppressed laughter, and immediately blushed: "Mother, that's not what I meant."

Yi Hua, watching her son's antics, asked, "Mother didn't mean anything by it. What do you mean?"

Honghui didn't want to talk to Yihua, so he turned his head towards the bed, only showing the back of his head to Yihua.

Knowing her son was shy, Yihua didn't say anything more. She left a visiting card in Honghui's room: "The Fucha family matriarch wants to bring her young lady to visit you. Whether you want to see her again is up to you. Your mother is fine with it."

After Yi Hua finished speaking, she turned and left. After leaving the room, she thought for a moment and tiptoed to the window. She gently lifted a corner of the window frame and adjusted the angle so that she could see Hong Hui's every move.

The boy rolled out of bed, glanced at the visiting card, put it down expressionlessly, then went straight to the window frame in his direction, opened the window forcefully.

Honghui said with a hint of helplessness, "Mother, would you like to come in and sit for a while longer?"

Caught peeping, Yi Hua felt a little guilty: "Mother just got lost, we're leaving now, we're leaving now."

Honghui shook his head and smiled. His mother was used to talking nonsense in front of him, and she could even come up with a very perfunctory excuse.

He glanced again at the visiting card engraved with gold powder, thinking of the little girl who looked so anxious that day. He heard that she was having a bad time in the Fucha family. Should he lend a hand?

Honghui was a very possessive child. From childhood to adulthood, anything that had passed through his hands, even if he smashed it, he would never give it to anyone else. Later, Liuliu became an exception, and he doted on this younger sister to the extreme.

As he grew older, he learned to hide this abnormal obsession, but the deep-seated part of him remained.

Just like with Fucha Wanling this time, Honghui felt that since he had saved her with half of his arm, her life would belong to him from now on. Similarly, he should not be so weak as to be bullied at will.

Yi Hua has seen things very clearly over the years. For example, Hong Hui is filled with the affection between grandfather and grandson for Emperor Kangxi, so he has been very cold to the two brothers Hong Xi and Hong Jin, who are capable of competing with him for favor, since childhood, but he is friendly to the other grandsons of the emperor.

It is precisely because of this that Honghui is even more endearing.

This child is quite pitiful, burdened by the notion of destiny. Hopefully, the young lady from the Fucha family won't disappoint Honghui.
