Chapter Forty-Four: The True Dragon Descends?

Something seemed amiss about what had just happened, and he wanted to discuss it with Yinzhen.

The neighborhood where the Prince's Mansion is located is full of dignitaries and nobles. It is very quiet here. Apart from the gatekeepers, you can hardly see anyone. It is mostly carriages coming and going.

There stood a monk in a yellowish-brown robe in front of the Prince's mansion, muttering to himself. The gatekeeper hesitated, wondering whether to chase him away.

The monk's eyes lit up when he saw Yinzhen. He put his hands together and said, "Amitabha! A true dragon has descended to earth. I am fortunate to witness such a wonderful sight. It is truly marvelous."

What is that?

Yinzhen picked at his ears, thinking he must have misheard. How come they caught a Taoist priest and then a monk showed up!

"Could it be that the high monk is saying that one of my concubines is pregnant and that this pregnancy will bring great fortune?" Yinzhen asked eagerly.

Seeing that he was using his own words, the monk was momentarily speechless, but then echoed, "For you to have such enlightenment, benefactor, you must be a person of great fortune."

"That high monk, have you ever had your fate told?" Enraged, Yinzhen ordered his men to arrest him and imprison him with the Taoist priest.

Yinzhen thought for a moment: "Fourth Brother, who came up with such a wicked idea?"

This move was indeed underhanded. The concept of fate is vague and unreliable. The brothers had already reached the position of princes and grandsons of emperors, which meant they were extremely wealthy and powerful.

Nowadays, some people are using the claim that Yinzhen's children are the true dragons, which indirectly implies that Yinzhen is the next emperor.

The crown prince is still standing there unharmed; such hurtful words might be taken to heart by those with ulterior motives.

"What I fear most is that people in my household will seek their own deaths," Yinzhen said coldly.

Such a clumsy scheme, his brothers probably wouldn't even bother to use it.

ā€œIā€¦ā€ Yin Tang wanted to say something.

Yinzhen stopped him, saying, "Ninth Brother has had a long journey. Go and pay your respects to Consort Yi as soon as possible. Tomorrow, we brothers will meet the Emperor together."

Yin Tang understood that if it was a family scandal, he should avoid it, so he didn't get involved and left directly.
