Yi Hua watched the two of them from above. Yu Xiao was generous and gentle, while this Anba guard was honest and loyal. They were quite a good match.
Anba was somewhat at a loss. He and the other guards had long heard of the head maidservant by the Fujin's side, but they never expected that their master would summon him today and imply that he wanted to marry her to him.
Although she belonged to the Xiangbai Banner, her father had passed away early, leaving her with only the title of a bannerman. At the age of twenty-seven or twenty-eight, she was still unmarried.
Now that he has been favored by his master and betrothed, he is willing, and his mother at home is even more willing.
Yi Hua asked him a few more casual questions, then let him leave.
Knowing that she was getting older, Yu Xiao had been intentionally training a few outstanding maids recently, so that when she was promoted to the position of nanny, someone would be able to take over her position as head maid.
After a long period of observation and testing, Yu Xue and Yu Ling, with Yi Hua's tacit approval, also began to serve her closely.
Yu Xue was lively and cheerful. As an observer, she saw that the guard Anba had left and immediately teased, "Madam, this morning I heard magpies chirping in front of the corridor. It's an omen that a happy event is coming soon."
Yu Ling was quiet and reserved, but smiled silently to herself.
Seeing Yi Hua looking at her with a meaningful gaze, Yu Xiao understood immediately. She became anxious and knelt on the ground, saying, "Madam, this servant will not marry."
Yi Hua stopped her from continuing, waved for the two younger ones to leave, and gestured for her to stand up and speak: "We, master and servant, have been together the longest. I understand your thoughts. Firstly, you do care about me, and secondly, you are afraid that your family will leech off you."
"That's why I didn't choose the Ulanara family. Instead, I picked people from the Prince's side. Even if your family members are bold, do you think they would dare to point fingers at the Prince?"
"With the master personally arranging the marriage and me standing here, I doubt your future husband's family would dare to treat you badly."
"Of course, you can't take advantage of my power to act arrogantly."
“Serving others isn’t a lifelong job. Wouldn’t it be better to go out and be a proper housewife?”
As Yu Xiao listened, tears streamed down her face: "This servant thanks you for your kindness, Madam. This servant just can't bear to part with you."
"Don't cry, this is a happy occasion." Seeing that Yu Xiao had finally relented, Yi Hua also felt relieved. Yu Xiao was the person Yi Hua had spent the most time with since she transmigrated, and she had served her diligently and thoughtfully every day. It was a relief for them to have a good home, which was a fulfillment of their friendship over the years.
"I'm so happy. If you miss me in the future, come to my mansion to see me. It would be best if you could bring your little tail along." Yi Hua said with a smile. She now understood why some people liked to play matchmaker in her past life. It was indeed very fulfilling to help someone find a happy match.
Yu Xiao went downstairs to wash her face, and Yi Hua opened the box that Yin Zhen had sent.
Inside was a piece of paper. Yi Hua glanced at it and saw that it contained the basic information of this Anba guard, including details such as how much cash he had at home.
Beneath the paper was a beautiful hairpin, made entirely of white jade, adorned with a pear blossom at the top—a testament to Yinzhen's aesthetic taste.
Yi Hua examined it for a moment, placed it on the dressing table, and then carefully looked at Anba's life story.
If there's anything wrong with this marriage, it's probably the future mother-in-law, Yihua thought to herself.
Children raised by single mothers often have a very strong desire for control. They also tend to be more dependent on their mothers, leading to a sense of alienation between their partners and the family.
However, nothing is perfect, and facing the unknown is an inevitable challenge in married life.
Yi Hua firmly believed that Yu Xiao was capable of facing all of this.

After standing shakily against the wall for half an hour, little Liu Liu started giving Yi Hua the silent treatment, rubbing his calves.
Specifically, she wouldn't talk to Yi-hua, and when asked her name, she would grunt twice, like a little piglet.
When Ninth Princess came to visit, she saw a sullen little girl. She looked at Yihua with a face full of accusation, her big eyes watery, but thankfully she hadn't cried yet.
Ninth Princess held Liu Liu in her hands and took out a prepared sugar figurine from her bosom to cheer her up: "Liu Liu, what's wrong? Tell your aunt."
"Mother is bad! Liu Liu has worked so hard!" The little girl was quick-witted in her complaint.
Ninth Princess patted Liu Liu's head, and could tell from the sound that she had been punished again: "Our Liu Liu is so cute, but Fourth Sister-in-law is so cruel in disciplining her."
“Nowadays, women are expected to be chaste, quiet, and gentle. If it weren’t for me keeping her in check, she could turn the world upside down.” Seeing Liu Liu’s defiant attitude, Yi Hua didn’t indulge her.
Kids can be naughty, but they can't be unruly. They even dared to rip off her earrings. If we don't stop them, they'll fly into the sky.
"She'll grow up and become more sensible." Ninth Princess Consort thought Yihua was worrying unnecessarily.
Yi Hua smiled without saying a word. Every parent has a familial filter when it comes to their child, and even though Liu Liu was being unreasonable, she genuinely thought the child was adorable.
Not every child is like Honghui. He is self-disciplined and strong-willed, and he can reflect on himself and urge himself on. Once he sets his mind on something, he will not give up until he achieves his goal.
Most children grow up wildly, and what parents need to do is prune the branches at the right time, ensuring that the roots don't become crooked before they truly understand things.
Seeing that Yi Hua was truly angry, and that even the arrival of outside help hadn't helped, Liu Liu calmed down, wiggled her little bottom, and went out to play by herself.
Ninth Princess Consort withdrew her gaze and began sharing gossip with Yihua: "Last time, when the Fourteenth Princess made such a fuss, the Empress felt sorry for her and gave her two maids to serve her. Fourth Sister-in-law, guess what happened after that?"
"What else could happen? I guess your sister-in-law lowered herself and coaxed the fourteenth brother back, and the two of them are all lovey-dovey again." Yi Hua took a bite of grapes and guessed how things would go.
"It's true that nothing can be hidden from Fourth Sister-in-law. Women always fantasize that men will only treat them well before they get married, but they only realize after marriage that it's just something written in plays and doesn't count." Ninth Princess sighed, "Fifth Sister-in-law is such a good person, but she's a bit too soft-hearted. Even our master can't stand seeing her being bullied, and she always argues with her own brother because of this."
