Honghui felt that his father and mother had been behaving a bit strangely lately.
Specifically, his mother suddenly started treating him like Liu Liu, sticking a sticker on his forehead every morning, and the little girl would stick out her tongue and say "shame on you" to him. This wouldn't do; he had to maintain his elder brother's dignity.
So when Yihua leaned in close again, Honghui chose to tactically dodge.
"Come here, what are you hiding from? The temperature has been fluctuating lately. Your mother sees you studying hard and doesn't want you to get too hot without even realizing it." Yi Hua's alarm bells have been ringing in her mind for the past month or two.
Although many things in the more than ten years since she transmigrated have deviated greatly from the history in her memory, sometimes she wonders whether there is a problem with her memory or whether history has been derailed by her, this little butterfly.
Regardless, life goes on, just as a winding river eventually flows into the sea.
Yi-hua was worried that Hong-hui would become a cold piece of writing, and that his bright future would end at this time of year, so she was particularly concerned about his health.
Honghui felt warm inside from his mother's concern. His mother still treated him like a child, just like Liu Liu. However, he was still a little ashamed: "Mother, your son is all grown up and can take care of himself."
“Mother doesn’t believe me,” Yihua said firmly. “Did you kick off the covers last night? When you were little, there was a period when you were a restless sleeper, and it was Mother who personally supervised you and corrected you.”
"Mother!" Honghui hid even further away, and lifted Liu Liu up. "Mother, look at my sister, she needs this more."
"Hey, don't run away. You should wear more clothes when you go to the toilet at night." Yi Hua's voice was like a raging flood, chasing Hong Hui out of the main courtyard.
Yu Xiao's wedding date was set for August. Every day, besides embroidering her dowry in her spare time, she also served Yi Hua. Since the eldest prince fell from his horse, this was the first time she had seen the princess so anxious and insecure.
"Princess Consort, please don't worry. You and the Prince are keeping an eye on the First Prince at his residence, and the Empress will be there to look after him in the palace. The First Prince himself is very alert, so nothing will happen to him," Yu Xiao comforted Yi Hua.
Yi Hua took a sip of tea and remained silent for a while: "I know, it's just that I feel anxious."
Now, it's like she has the Sword of Damocles hanging over her head, and what Yi Hua wants to do most is to melt down that legendary broken sword.
That evening, when Honghui was having his meal, he found a medicinal dish in front of him. He looked at Yihua with a puzzled expression and asked, "Mother, what is this for?"
"Oh, it's good for your health, it's harmless. Your mother sent it to you, drink it quickly, don't let her good intentions go to waste." Yi Hua gave Hong Hui a reason he couldn't refuse, so he could only bite the bullet and finish it.
Liu Liu was a little unhappy when she saw her brother eating alone while she didn't get any.
While no one was paying attention, she quietly stretched out her little spoon, slowly scooped up a spoonful, took only a small sip, and spat it out. She looked at Honghui in disbelief, thinking that her older brother was so pitiful, having to eat such bitter things.
"Liuliu, you can't waste food." Yi Hua noticed the little girl's actions and quickly reprimanded her when she saw that she wanted to throw away the porridge.
Honghui couldn't bear to see his sister's distorted face, so he quickly opened his mouth and swallowed the food whole. He then coaxed Liuliu to eat a couple more bites of sweets in a gentle voice. The two siblings smiled broadly and were very harmonious.
Yinzhen thought for a moment, not having heard of anyone from the Ulanara family visiting recently. What was his wife up to? He casually ladled a bowl of medicinal food from the container, and Yihua subconsciously patted the back of his hand.
With a "smack," the room fell completely silent, and even Liu Liu dared not move.
Yi Hua then realized that she had switched to the way she and her husband interacted in their previous life while highly focused.
She quickly served it to Yinzhen in a clean bowl, gently blew on it, and placed it in front of him: "No need for Your Highness to do it yourself. Try it. I watched it being cooked all afternoon."
Yinzhen stared at Yihua, whose expression remained unchanged, for a few moments until she looked away somewhat guiltily. Ignoring the slight pain in the back of his hand, he took a sip and hummed in agreement. Only then did the servants in the room dare to breathe a sigh of relief, thankfully their master hadn't taken offense.
Dinner passed in an eerie atmosphere. Honghui put down his chopsticks and immediately made a hasty escape, claiming that he hadn't finished his homework.
"Don't stay up late tonight, it's okay if you can't finish." Yi Hua followed him a few steps with concern.
Honghui quickened his pace, and in just two steps, Yihua could no longer see his back, making it seem as if he was fleeing in panic.
"This child, when did you start bringing your homework home to do? Are you trying to avoid me?" Yi Hua said with satisfaction, looking at the medicinal food that had been completely finished.
******
Upon entering the inner room, Honghui was once again dumbfounded.
Where is my bed?
The head maidservant who served him suppressed a laugh: "Your Highness, the Princess Consort said today that the furniture in your room was all moldy, so she replaced it all."
Honghui suddenly stopped smiling. He was familiar with this way of handling things. Could it be that his mother was so nervous because...?
Just as he was lost in thought, Yinzhen walked in with Imperial Physician Qin.
"Honghui, Physician Qin came today to check Father's pulse. He'll take a look at you too." Yinzhen sat in the main seat, seemingly waiting until the pulse examination was finished before leaving.
Physician Qin remained expressionless, not uttering a single word about how he had just changed his clothes and would soon be going to sleep.
The Fourth Prince was in a hurry for no reason. Prince Honghui looked to be in good health, much better than him, who was sleep-deprived.
After taking his pulse, Physician Qin pondered for a moment and said, "Your Highness, Prince Honghui's pulse is strong. As long as he maintains a good lifestyle, he will surely live to be a hundred years old."
