"Honghui, wait for me, let's go together." Hongqing quickly crumpled the Xuan paper into a ball and stuffed it into her bag, then ran a few steps to catch up.
The two children walked ahead hand in hand. Hongqing glanced at Honghui several times, and seeing that his expression was normal, she asked, "Honghui, aren't you jealous?"
"What?"
“Hongxi and Hongjin, didn’t you see the smug look in their eyes when they followed the eunuch?”
"Brother Hongqing, were you jealous of me before?"
Hongqing lowered her head somewhat guiltily and held up her little finger, saying, "Just a little bit."
Honghui slumped his shoulders in dejection: "I considered Hongqing my best friend. I never expected you to think of me like this. Honghui is so sad."
"Hey, hey, don't! Let me tell you, it's all because my father kept talking about you that I had these thoughts." Seeing that Honghui was really upset, scratching his head and talking incoherently with a red face, Hongqing pulled Honghui's arm and shook it. "Good brother, I'll apologize to you, okay?"
"Okay, I forgive you," Honghui said reluctantly, and the two walked away hand in hand again.
The two were picked up by their respective fathers. Honghui was somewhat sullen the whole way. After dinner, Honghui looked at his younger sister and leaned against Yihua with some dependence. Before leaving, Yinzhen gave Yihua a look and went back to the front courtyard to handle official business.
He had long noticed that Honghui had something on his mind. As for the brat's behavior of going to his mother instead of telling him what was going on, Yinzhen felt a little jealous at dinner.
"What's wrong, Honghui? Tell your mother." Yihua also noticed that Honghui lacked his usual energy, so she gestured for everyone in the room to leave, leaving only Liu Liu grinning foolishly.
"Mother, lately Grandfather has only summoned Brother Hongxi and Brother Hongjin. Does he not like Honghui anymore?" The question that had been churning in his heart these past few days came out of his mouth. After speaking, Honghui's eyes were a little red, and he was obviously sad.
