Chapter 205: What is passion killing?
Shi Luo looked at Jiang Hao's restless hand and stretched out his foot to kick Jiang Hao. "Don't even think about hugging me to sleep. It's too hot today. If you hug me, your skin will feel sticky."
Jiang Hao didn't listen, and shamelessly hugged her, "That's not what you just said. You just asked me to hold you tighter."
Shi Luo, this time is different from that time, how can it be the same? "Oh, it's really hot."
Jiang Hao refused to let go. "Then I'll go buy two electric fans in the next two days, so that it won't be so hot when I sleep with you in my arms."
Luo had no objection when buying the fan, "Okay, then you can let it go today."
Jiang Hao said, "I don't want to. Just sleep like this tonight, dear."
Shi Luo was really tired and too lazy to bother anymore, so he just went to sleep.
The next day, after sending Huhu home, Jiang Hao took an hour off and went to the department store to buy an electric fan.
Shi Luo sat in the office, helping Sister Zhou hold the yarn. Sister Zhou skillfully wound the yarn into a ball. "I heard from my neighbor that the dismemberment case at the reservoir has been closed, and the murderer has been apprehended. He's a worker at the slaughterhouse."
Shi Luo stretched the yarn straight and asked, "What exactly happened?"
Sister Zhou nodded and said, "This case is quite serious. After the case was closed, in order to give an explanation to the victim's family, the general situation of the case was told to those families. Yesterday, I went to comfort the neighbors and asked about it.
It was said to be a murder in the heat of passion. The slaughterhouse worker and three other men were drinking and gambling. After getting drunk and losing, he beat them to death. The man had been slaughtering animals for years and was very strong and aggressive. So, fearing discovery, he simply dismembered the three men with a butcher knife in his cellar and later dumped the bodies into the reservoir in batches.
Xiao Feng: "Oh my God, he killed three people just because he lost a game of cards while drinking. This is too outrageous."
Uncle Chu said slowly, "What's so outrageous? That worker used to be a butcher. He had two wives before. I heard that he beat them both to death after getting drunk. But he should have given money to the families of the two wives. They all said that their daughters died because of poor health.
Regardless of what the families of those two girls said, his reputation was ruined and he never married again. After that, it seemed like he often found some half-open doors or something like that."
Guyu opened his mouth wide when he heard this. "So, no one cares about him beating his wife to death? It's so lawless. Two lives were lost just like that."
Sister Zhou said meaningfully, "Who cares? My mother's family said it was because of poor health. It's impossible for the butcher to turn himself in to the police station. The neighbors are afraid of the butcher's revenge and dare not intervene and call the police. If no one reports the case, the police can't do anything.
So, when you marry someone, you should find someone who is reliable and good. If you marry someone who is unreliable, it’s not a big deal if you live a bad life, but if you get beaten or killed, you will have no future.
Liang Song frowned. "Then, what about those bones? They are the bones that tripped me."
Sister Zhou: "I actually asked about it. Those two skeletons have nothing to do with this case. I heard our forensic assistant say that those two skeletons must have been there for many years. They were said to have completely turned into bones or something. I didn't understand the details, but they said they had been dead for a long time.
I heard it was buried quite deep and was only washed out by rain in recent years. They also said it wasn't necessarily murder, but there's currently no evidence of murder.
Uncle Chu said, "Many people died in the early years. Some people just found a remote place to bury them. Those two didn't look very old. Maybe their family buried them themselves. I remember there was a saying in the early years that children who had not yet grown up could not be buried in the ancestral tomb and have a tombstone erected."
Liang Song didn't say anything after hearing these words.
After dinner in the evening, Shi Luo was fanning himself, listening to the radio, and recounting the incident of the reservoir dismemberment case at home.
Jiang Hao brought out some washed peaches, placed them on the table in the living room, and handed one to Huhu and Shi Luo. "Eat peaches! They smell sweet. It's good that the murderer has been caught. Otherwise, we'd be in fear every time we leave the house."
Shi Luo took a bite of a peach and said, "Why do I hear someone calling you downstairs? No, I have to go check it out."
As he spoke, Shi Luo walked to the window and stuck his head out. "Oh my God, that woman is Jiang Yinyin, your uncle's daughter who went to the countryside. The one next to her is Feng Qi, his eldest brother's wife. Isn't that your cousin? When did she come back?"
Jiang Hao was also confused. "I haven't heard about it. Maybe she just arrived today. Otherwise, my grandfather wouldn't have told me. Why did my dad let her out?"
Jiang Yinyin was yelling downstairs, "Jiang Hao, Jiang Hao, come out!"
Feng Qi tugged at her sister-in-law's sleeve and said, "You just came back and why are you making a fuss here instead of going home? How did you know Jiang Hao lived here?"
Jiang Yinyin pulled back her sleeves and said, "Humph, I wrote to my classmate and asked her for the address. If I rely on you, I'm afraid I'll never be able to return to the city in my lifetime."
After saying that, Jiang Yinyin yelled upstairs, "Jiang Hao, I know you are at home, come out quickly."
Jiang Hao frowned. "I have to go down there. Otherwise, if she keeps making such a fuss, people who don't know her will think I've abandoned her."
Shi Luo threw the peach pit into the trash can. "I'll go with you, Huhu. Be good and play in the house by yourself. Your dad and I are downstairs. You can see us if you stick your head out."
After they settled the children, they went downstairs together.
Jiang Hao asked without lowering his voice, "When did your cousin come back? Did she come back to visit relatives?"
Jiang Yinyin was furious when she saw Jiang Hao. "You wish I would never come back."
Jiang Hao: "Cousin, how can you say that? You are wronging me by saying that."
Jiang Yinyin: "Don't pretend to be nice here. Tell me if you are the one who is trying to persuade Grandpa not to give me the job. I knew it when I saw the news. You are the only one in our family who can influence Grandpa's thoughts."
Jiang Hao rolled his eyes and said, "Cousin, you've misunderstood me again, haven't you? Grandpa can give his job to whoever he wants. What does it have to do with me?"
Jiang Yinyin: "Don't try to lie to me. I'm the only one in our family who went to the countryside. Grandpa clearly had a job quota. If he gave it to me, I could return to the city. But because of you, Grandpa gave the job to someone else. This is all because of you."
Jiang Hao really didn't understand Jiang Yinyin's train of thought. "No, Jiang Yinyin, you are mentally ill. If I didn't have a job, and Grandpa gave his job to me but not to you, it would be understandable for you to blame me.
But I clearly have a job, and my grandfather didn't even give me his job, so why are you blaming me?"
