Chapter 46: Teenager's Emotions

Chapter 46: Teenager's Emotions

When I got home, I saw my mother and sisters-in-law cooking in the kitchen.

Jiang Hao took the lunch box to the kitchen and handed it to Liu Cuihua. "Mom, please heat it up for me and divide it into three portions. One for you, my dad, and me. There's no room for anyone else. Oh, and heat up the spicy fried octopus I packed back. Let's eat it together."

Liu Cuihua took the lunch box and opened it. She was shocked to see pure white rice and bacon steamed with bacon. "Where did it come from?"

Jiang Hao said proudly, "Of course it was given to me by someone else. Okay, Mom, you take care of it. Call me when it's time for dinner."

Liu Cuihua looked at her son's smug face and understood that it must have been given by Shi Luo. Oh, her son's progress was quite fast.

"Mom, who gave me such a precious thing?" Zhao Xiuxiu was a little envious. Why should it be divided into three parts? Everyone should eat it together.

"What's it to you? It's not a gift for you. Hurry up and fry the cabbage so we can eat."

Liu Cuihua made bacon rice herself and asked her daughter-in-law to stir-fry cabbage. Who couldn't eat cabbage?

When the Jiang family was having dinner in the evening, everyone was quite happy looking at the steamed buns made of two-grain flour, spicy fried octopus, stir-fried cabbage, and shredded mustard greens in their bowls.

But when I saw the bacon rice in my parents and younger brother’s bowls, I felt a little weird.

The sons of the old Jiang family are fine, after all, they are used to it.

After all, in private, everyone would secretly cook for themselves with their wives and children.

But the daughters-in-law were not happy. To them, anything that was put out in the open belonged to everyone, and the bacon rice should be eaten together. Even if the adults couldn't eat it, the children in the family should also eat it.

Li Qian really wanted to say something, but thinking about how she was humiliated by her mother-in-law yesterday, she felt a little timid today. She didn't want to be the first to speak up, so she thought about waiting for the third daughter-in-law to speak up first.

Zhao Xiuxiu wanted to speak up, but she had just been scolded by her mother-in-law in the kitchen. Most importantly, Zhao Xiuxiu looked at Jiang Lin sitting next to her and didn't dare to make a fuss.

There is no other way, Zhao Xiuxiu also hopes that other sisters-in-law can step forward first.

Liu Shan ate the rice in her bowl without even raising her head. Although she was unhappy about having two kinds of food on the same table, she still saw the reality clearly, so it was better for her to just eat.

Not to mention Liu Yue, who was moved by her mother-in-law's words yesterday. Today, she felt that her parents-in-law deserved dragon liver and phoenix marrow, let alone bacon rice.

Since the adults didn't make a fuss, the children were even less likely to make a fuss. At the dinner table, except for Jiang Jiang and Jiang Dong who took a few bites of Jiang Hao's bacon rice, the other children didn't eat a single bite.

I finished the meal peacefully, with my heart turbulent but the surface calm.

Jiang Hao went back to his room after finishing his meal. Jiang Dong watched his fifth uncle go back to his room, and followed him into Jiang Hao's room.

Jiang Hao was about to close the door when he saw his nephew following him. "What are you doing here? Close the door first."

Jiang Dong climbed onto the kang and lay down. "Uncle Wu, I'm going to sleep with you today."

Jiang Hao rejected it expressionlessly. "Don't even think about it. You can stay here for a while. I'll go back to your place when it's time to sleep."

Jiang Dong did not force it, "Okay, Uncle Wu, do you have any apples? Give me half of it."

"Didn't we just finish our meal? Aren't you full yet?" Jiang Hao took out an apple from the cabinet and cut it in half. He and his nephew each took half.

"I'm full, but being full doesn't stop me from having snacks." Jiang Dong said happily while lying on the kang and chewing an apple.

Jiang Dong: "My father wrote to my mother saying he would not be coming home for the New Year this year."

"What's the matter? Do you miss your father? Didn't he come back two years ago? It's good enough for those soldiers to come back every few years." Jiang Hao rubbed his nephew's head.

Jiang Dong: "Well, I miss him too. As a son, what son wouldn't miss his father?"

"Hey, little adult."

Jiang Hao was amused by his nephew and continued,

"I guess your father might not be back until spring."

"Why? It would be great to come back for the New Year." Jiang Dong didn't understand.

"Because he holds a high position, he should prioritize the soldiers below him to go home for the New Year. Isn't that why he didn't come back in the past few years? As a person, the greater the ability, the greater the responsibility."

Jiang Hao said slowly,

"Okay, you've finished eating your apple and ranting about your teenage emotions, so go back to sleep."

Jiang Dong was not happy, but he still climbed down from the kang and went back to his room.
