Chapter 421 Sending a Quilt

In just a short period of time, it is impossible for the mental strength to recover so quickly. In fact, because the mental strength is exhausted, the whole person is extremely tired.

I had just woken up, but then I couldn't help but fall asleep again.

I slept until it was dark outside. When I opened my eyes, the room was dark and I could only hear some noise coming from the yard outside.

I thought it might be Zhou Huaian who came back from get off work.

It seems that I should not use up so much of my mental energy all at once in the future, otherwise I will end up feeling exhausted and not even aware of the time when I sleep.

I felt that the temperature in the room seemed to have become colder. I put on a thin cotton jacket and came out of the house. I instantly felt a cold wind blowing from outside into the house.

I shivered with cold. It suddenly became so cold. It looked like it was going to snow. I calculated the time and it was about this time.

"Huai'an, the weather has changed, why don't you put on your thin cotton jacket?"

As soon as Su Qingxue went out, she saw Zhou Huaian sitting in the living room peeling chestnuts. These chestnuts were taken out two days ago. He left some of them outside at that time, thinking that he could peel chestnuts to pass the time when he had nothing to do.

I saw that he was still wearing the clothes he wore to work during the day. Although he was wearing a coat, it was not thick at all.

Zhou Huaian threw the chestnuts aside when he saw his wife come in and washed his hands. "I'm not cold. There's no breeze when I'm working in the living room. Are you hungry after sleeping for so long? The food is ready. I'll go and bring it over."

Su Qingxue saw him go to the kitchen to serve the food so quickly, as if he was not affected by the cold weather at all and looked very energetic. Is the difference between men and women really that big?

My physique is pretty good!

But within two or three days, it began to snow heavily. The first thing Su Qingxue did when she got up was to build a big snowman for herself outside.

When I thought about the last time I played in the snow with the children, my nose suddenly felt sore, my eyes turned red, and tears started to fall.

Su Qingxue suddenly felt that she was being pretentious. When she first sent the children there, she thought it was good. She could live a carefree life and didn't have to take care of the children every day. But after just a few months, she suddenly missed them so much.

There was another big snowman next to the big snowman, and then five small snowmen were piled next to it. It was obvious that there were seven people in this family.

It took almost two hours to build a few snowmen. Su Qingxue's hands were frozen red, but she seemed not to feel it.

After the pile was done, I moved a stool and sat at the door of the living room, looking at it quietly for a while, and then I felt much better.

I thought of my parents and grandpa who are still in the cowshed. It’s so cold now, and they have been using the same quilts for several years. I plan to send them two new quilts in the evening.

With so many people, two quilts are definitely not enough. There is still plenty of cloth and cotton in the space, so I plan to make a few more quilts and sew a few more patches when the time comes.

Having something to do, my mind wouldn't be so easily filled with random thoughts. I sewed two quilts in one day. After Zhou Huaian got off work, I asked him and Sun Rui to quietly deliver the fourth quilt first.

Two of them were quilts made when I got married. Usually, a few more quilts are made when I get married, so they can be used for a lifetime and I can never use them all. After the children are not at home, if there are not enough, I can use the children’s quilts myself, so I will use the old ones first and send these unused ones to them first.

Looking at the extra patches on the new quilt, I feel like it’s a bit of a waste, but it’s also safer this way.

I took a look at the sky outside. It snowed all night last night. It stopped in the morning and then snowed again in the afternoon. Now that the snow has just stopped, there should be no one out. I took this opportunity to go and call Sun Rui over.

Bai Jie watched Sun Rui and Zhou Huaian leave. Although she was a little curious about where they were going so late at night, she felt embarrassed to ask more questions, thinking that the two men had something to do.

In order not to make his wife worry, Sun Rui patted her hand soothingly and said, "Don't worry, I'll be back soon."

On the way back, Zhou Huaian asked Sun Rui, "Didn't you tell your wife about grandpa's affairs?"

Sun Rui showed a bitter smile on his face. "I didn't tell her because I was worried that she would have wild thoughts while pregnant. I also didn't know how to tell her. I just thought of not telling her. It would save one more person from knowing and worrying. She wouldn't know anything and could live in peace."

Zhou Huaian nodded, thinking that it was true. If she didn't know, she could still live a carefree life. If she knew, she might be worried about being discovered, and her life would not be so peaceful.

As soon as the two returned home, they picked up the quilt that Su Qingxue had packed, and quietly went around through the small path when no one was around.

There was snow on the ground, and when the moonlight shone through, a white light could be seen. The concealment was not that good, so we had to be more careful.

Father and Mother Su, Grandpa Gu, and Grandpa Sun looked at the quilts the two people brought over, and were touched in their hearts, but on the surface they still looked like they were rejecting them, "The quilts in the house are quite warm, there's no need to send new ones over, you can keep these new quilts for yourselves."

"Yes! The house is quite small to begin with, and there is no place to put all the things. It is really inconvenient to put them in the cowshed. It would be bad if the villagers found out."

It’s good to know that my son-in-law and daughter are filial, and their houses all have kangs. Even if it’s a little cold to sleep at night, all they have to do is collect more firewood.

Zhou Huaian has already brought it here, how could anyone refuse?
