Chapter 146 The Master Invites

Qing Yue shouted sternly.

The shadows all covered their noses and retreated, and the ghost took this opportunity to turn around and escape.

The four shadow guards drew their swords and started chasing after him, but they only heard Qing Yue say, "Come back, no need to chase!"

As Qing Yue's order came down, the four shadow guards instantly disappeared again. Everything came and went without a trace, as if they had never appeared.

The wind rustled and blew up Qingyue's black hair, and a strand of hair was lifted up to cover her eyes.

Before Qing Yunyao could come to her senses, her chin was suddenly pinched by Qing Yue, "Qing Yunyao, remember, there is justice in this world. Good cannot prevail over evil, and falsehood cannot become true. One day, you will suffer the consequences of your own actions and lose everything. I believe that day will come soon!"

Qing Yue's fingers pressed so hard that they almost crushed Qing Yunyao's jaw.

Qing Yunyao felt cold all over. She stared at Qing Yue, but saw only frost in her pupils.

"I'll say this one last time. Don't threaten me with my family. If they feel even the slightest bit uncomfortable, you and your master will never know a single word in the classics."

Qing Yue said coldly.

As she spoke, the fingers that were pinching Qing Yunyao kept exerting more and more force, and her chin seemed to be crushed. Qing Yunyao's face was twisted with pain, and she struggled with her hands and feet, trying to push Qing Yue away, but the more she moved, the more ruthless Qing Yue's hands became. She really wanted to pinch Qing Yunyao to death right here and now.

She didn't know if Mu Rui was in such pain when she died.

And Master...

"Sister Qing, Qin Wan."

At this moment, Pingyang's slightly anxious cry sounded. She ran over from the foot of the mountain and saw Sister Qing being clamped by Qin Wan. Were they fighting again?

The moment Pingyang spoke, Qingyue pushed Qing Yunyao's face away and stood up straight.

Pingyang had already run up to them. She went forward to help Qing Yunyao up and asked, "Sister Qing, are you okay?"

Qing Yunyao's veil fell off when Qing Yue pushed her away. The wound on her face was covered with gauze and nothing could be seen. However, there were several clear purple handprints on her chin, which were obviously caused by human pinching. How much force must have been used to create such marks.

"Pingyang, I'm fine."

Qing Yunyao had already put away the viciousness on her face, and she spoke.

Pingyang frowned and felt very uncomfortable. Her sister Qing used to be such a proud and unbridled person, but how could she be bullied like this now? Her chin was even pinched like this, and she still said it was okay.

"Qin Wan, why did you attack Sister Qing again?"

Pingyang looked at Qingyue with some annoyance and asked.

She brought her out today, although it was Sister Qing's request, but her original intention was to hope that the two of them could be fine. After all, in her eyes, Sister Qing was also a victim. Who would have thought that Qin Wan would attack Sister Qing again after she had been away for just a while?

In the maple forest, the scent of maple leaves fills your nostrils.

Qingyue glanced at Pingyang and said nothing. She looked at the fire pit behind her that had been dug earlier. It was already burned out. She raised her foot and poured some more soil into the pit to prevent it from reigniting. Then she turned around and left without saying anything.

"Qin Wan, where are you going? I'm talking to you."

Pingyang didn't expect Qin Wan to ignore her like this. She didn't say a word to her from beginning to end and just left. Pingyang was so angry that she almost jumped up and down, and she yelled immediately.

"I won't go back with you in the carriage. Don't stay here too late. Go back early."

Qing Yue left immediately after saying this.

She was not in the mood to talk to Pingyang, nor could she face Qing Yunyao's face. The death of Mu Rui and her master almost broke her down. She dared not calm down. As long as she calmed down, she would think of this matter.

Qing Yue went down the small slope and walked directly towards Nanjiao Temple.

There are 168 bluestone steps.

Nanjiao Temple is shrouded in a hazy and dim light. From a distance, it looks like an ink painting that represents the salvation of all living beings.

She walked up the steps step by step, looking at the curl of incense burning in the cauldron at the entrance of the temple. She stood there, watching people coming and going, and the smiling faces of the pilgrims. She felt confused and didn't know where to go.

Is she the only one in this world whose fate is so tragic?

She stood there, her skirt swaying in the wind, but her whole body looked thin and gaunt.

She thought of what Qing Yunyao had said. She should ask her where her master's body was now. Mu Rui had been sunk in that pond again, so she could burn some incense for them.

Qing Yue covered her chest.

It's really sad.

"Donor, the master invites you."

Perhaps she was in a trance and didn't even notice the person standing next to her. It was not until the voice of the little monk in the gray robe was heard that Qing Yue came back to her senses.

"What?"

Qing Yue asked.

The young monk said "Amitabha" and continued, "Donor, Master Yuanji is waiting for you in the side hall. Please follow me this way."

Qing Yue blinked. Master Yuanji of the southern suburbs was said to be over a hundred years old and normally never saw outsiders. Why did he suddenly want to see her? And how did Master Yuanji know she was here?

"Okay, thank you, Master."

Qing Yue bowed her head in return.

The little monk smiled shyly, then turned around and led the way. Qingyue followed behind her, passed through the front halls, and went straight into the back hall.

"This is it. I won't go in."

The little monk brought Qingyue to the door of a temple and spoke.

Qing Yue nodded, thanked him, and then walked to the door. She knocked twice and pushed the door open after receiving a response.

The sound of a wooden fish was heard in my ears, and what came into my sight was an elder. He had his eyes closed, his beard was gray, and he was sitting upright on a cushion. He was playing Buddhist beads with his left hand and beating a wooden fish with his right hand.

He opened his eyes only after Qingyue came in.

These eyes seem to contain thousands of years of wisdom and intelligence.

"master."

Qing Yue clasped her hands together and called out respectfully.

"Donor, please take a seat."

Master Yuanji said.

Qing Yue sat down as she was told, on the cushion opposite Master Yuanji.

"Donor, I called you over because I realized I had found someone with whom I had a connection, so I called you over to discuss Buddhism."

Master Yuanji's voice rang out.

Qing Yue looked up in surprise. Was she the one he was meant to be with? Unsure what Yuan Ji Da Shi wanted to discuss with her, Qing Yue didn't speak rashly.

The next moment, Master Yuanji asked, "Donor, do you believe in Buddha?"

Qing Yue shook her head and said, "Master, I don't believe in Buddhism. I only believe in myself."

Maybe she believed it once, but she no longer believed it. She died so tragically, and the Buddha didn't save her. Her second brother was brutally murdered and is still a living dead, and the Buddha didn't save him either. And so did her master and Mu Rui...

"Amitabha."
