Chapter 74 Copywriting Recovery (2)

Chapter 74 Copywriting Recovery (2)

Yun Zhan was held in Shi Mingyue's arms, his body still carrying the chill from the dark corridor, his teeth chattering slightly.

The lingering fear of death still haunted her. The more Shi Mingyue comforted her, the more Yun Zhan wanted to cry; the more she felt ashamed to shed tears, the more she couldn't stop them.

The tiny pearls rolled off one by one, landing on Shi Mingyue's wrist, burning her heart.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here."

Shi Mingyue coaxed him softly, cupping Yun Zhan's wet face and wiping away his tears with her thumbs again and again.

Tears rolled to the corners of her lips, and she leaned down to kiss them, her movements as gentle as if she were handling fragile porcelain. First her eyelids, then her cheeks, and finally her trembling lips, gently touching them and washing away all the saltiness.

Yun Zhan sobbed, his nose red, like a puppy soaked by the rain.

Shi Mingyue couldn't help but chuckle, placing his palm on the back of her head and ruffling her slightly cool, dark hair. His voice was low and indulgent: "Little crybaby, are you willing to marry me now? I don't want to only kiss and make love with you in the illusion."

The blunt use of the word "make love" made Yun Zhan's ears turn red instantly, but his tears fell even more fiercely.

She sobbed twice, then suddenly buried her face in Shi Mingyue's shoulder, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist.

A moment later, she raised her wet eyes, nuzzled Shi Mingyue's neck with her nose, and said in a voice heavy with sobs, yet unusually earnest: "...I'm willing."

She nodded gently, took Shi Mingyue's hand, intertwined their fingers, palm to palm, and transferred warmth to her hand little by little.

Shi Mingyue's heart burned. She lowered her head and kissed the back of their intertwined fingers, then kissed Yun Zhan's reddened fingertips, her voice so gentle it seemed to drip with tenderness.

"Then it's settled. We'll have the wedding after we get home. Whether it's in a scenic ancient town in the south, a bustling metropolis, or an island or church abroad... anywhere you want to go, it's up to you."

Yun Zhan rubbed his red eyes, tears still clinging to the corners, but he first stood on tiptoe and took the initiative to kiss Shi Mingyue's lips.

The kiss was salty yet incredibly passionate, as if it were melting all the lingering fear and longing into the lips and tongue.

Shi Mingyue supported the back of her neck, responding very gently and patiently, like stroking the fur of a frightened cat. Her tongue brushed against the skin, their breaths mingling, until the person in her arms gradually stopped trembling.

The lights inside the hall quietly went out, leaving only moonlight shining through the cracks in the dome onto the two people embracing.

Shi Mingyue buried her face in Yun Zhan's neck, her voice muffled and nasal: "...I came to find you so determinedly, you have to coax me every day."

Yun Zhan chuckled, his laughter tinged with lingering sobs, "Okay, I'll coax you every day, kiss you every day, every day..."

She whispered close to Shi Mingyue's ear, her voice low and husky, "I love you."

Shi Mingyue's ears turned even redder, but she held Yun Zhan tightly.

The moonlight shining through the roof illuminated Bai Jichen's face, making it appear both pale and bluish.

As she looked at Shi Mingyue's smiling face, her defenses gradually crumbled...

How did the female lead get here?!

The illusion she painstakingly built was shattered by Shi Mingyue, leaving only lingering light flickering between her fingers.

Bai Jichen gritted his teeth, his voice like ice grains rolling across a porcelain plate: "Yun Zhan, have you thought it through? If you continue to stay here, the mission will fail... You pride yourself on being smart and capable of ending this world, you'd better think it through."

The words "Stay here" came crashing down on him, and Shi Mingyue's fingers tightened instantly.

She looked at Bai Jichen, her gaze like a candle flame scattered by the wind, before instantly shifting to Yun Zhan's face.

Shi Mingyue's gaze was tense and uneasy. She was afraid that if she spoke, it would be seen as coercion... and even more afraid that after remaining silent, she would hear Yun Zhan choose to "leave".

Yun Zhan didn't answer at first, but instead held Shi Mingyue's hand even tighter, interlacing their fingers, palm to palm, the warmth spreading over her, easing her unease.

"White dust after rain".

Yun Zhan's voice was hoarse, but with a smile: "I've done about twenty missions, and I'm exhausted... I want to spend my life with the person I love."

Yun Zhan turned his head and kissed the back of Shi Mingyue's fingers: "I'm not taking on any more missions. I want to pursue my own happiness."

As soon as she finished speaking, Shi Mingyue's breath hitched, and her eyes instantly reddened.

Bai Jichen's face turned even uglier, almost green with embarrassment: "Are you crazy? Giving up the chance to go back for one person?"

Yun Zhan chuckled softly, his palm stroking Shi Mingyue's trembling wrist: "She is not 'alone,' she is the 'home' I want to grow old with."

She raised her other hand, pointing to the illusory crack in the dome, her voice low but each word resounding.

"The path I chose is just like the first half of my life: dark, cold, and endless. But at the end of the road, I met someone who likes me."

Yun Zhan turned around and touched foreheads with Shi Mingyue's, "The light is at the end, and she is waiting for me to come home."

Shi Mingyue finally couldn't hold back her tears, which fell onto Yun Zhan's shoulder, but she stubbornly curved her lips into a smile.

Bai Jichen looked at the two hands clasped together, their knuckles turning white from the force. It was the first time the deity had tasted the feeling of "losing control".

Yun Zhan took a deep breath and pulled Shi Mingyue behind her, as if protecting her only treasure. She looked at Bai Jichen, her eyes no longer showing any fear, only a clear and firm determination.

"I choose to stay."

"I only want her."

The foxfire atop the dome dimmed suddenly, as if even the gods were stunned into holding their breath by this obsession. Shi Mingyue pressed herself against Yun Zhan's back, her fingertips gripping the hem of his clothes tightly, her tears silent yet burning hot.

Bai Jichen remained silent for a long time before finally letting out a cold laugh. With a flick of his long sleeves, the fragments of the illusion transformed into countless fireflies, fluttering down onto the shoulders of the two.

As Yun Zhan stood up, Bai Jichen used his divine sense to speak with her alone.

"That's really something."

Bai Jichen's voice was low and hoarse, tinged with resentment: "But I don't believe anyone will like you forever. There is no such thing as a love that lasts forever. As the daughter of an official, she will eventually get tired of you."

"Oh, I don't believe she doesn't like me either."

Shi Mingyue's enduring affection is as enduring as the sun and moon, witnessed by heaven and earth, and Yun Zhan never doubts it.

"If you want to stay here, it's not that simple."

Yun Zhan turned around, her steps pausing for a moment. She frowned and spoke to Bai Jichen with her mind: "What else do you want to do? Whether I complete the mission or not is my choice."

Bai Jichen smiled coldly, "Since I can't get out of here anyway, I might as well find some fun for myself."

Bai Jichen whispered something in Yun Zhan's ear.

Yun Zhan's knuckles tightened instantly, and the veins on the back of her hand bulged. She lowered her eyes, her long eyelashes concealing the sudden surge of killing intent and anger in them.

You can't talk back, you can't turn against someone, and you absolutely can't let Shi Mingyue find out.

So she simply turned her head slightly, gritted her teeth, swallowed her almost bursting anger, and replied with a single word in an equally inaudible voice.

"roll."

Bai Jichen chuckled softly, as if he had received the answer he expected. With a flick of his sleeve, he turned and stepped into the light and shadow.

Shi Mingyue felt her palms being squeezed painfully. She looked up and saw that Yun Zhan's lips were pale, his jawline was extremely taut, and a murderous intent was revealed in his eyes.

"What's wrong?" Shi Mingyue asked softly.

Yun Zhan took a deep breath, suppressing all his anger, disgust, and fear into his chest.

She raised her hand to brush Shi Mingyue's temples, her fingertips still carrying a gentle warmth.

"It's nothing," Yun Zhan smiled, his voice slightly hoarse. "Hurry home..."

Shi Mingyue didn't understand why, but instinctively moved closer to her, like stroking the fur of a ruffled beast.

After returning home, Yun Zhan remained restless.

She struggled with her thoughts for a long time, repeatedly getting up and sitting down, occasionally fiddling with the tea pets on the table.

21 watched her pace back and forth, getting dizzy from turning around: "What's wrong with you? You finally came back, but you look so sullen."

Yun Zhan gritted his teeth, his voice strained: "Do you know what Bai Jichen said?"

21 blinked: "I don't know."

"Do you remember what you asked me to do to Pei Yanxi before? You said those kinds of things to Pei Yanxi... Just now, Bai Jichen also asked me to do something similar to Shi Mingyue."

Bai Jichen told her: "Yun Zhan, I want you to say some vulgar things to this young lady, and do things to tease and flirt with her. If she gets angry, I will crush your heart. Only if she forgives you will I allow you to stay."

21. I don't understand, is Bai Jichen really that bored?

"Seriously? That's going too far. You and Shi Mingyue are already in a relationship. Won't doing something like this damage her feelings for you?"

"This goodwill won't work. Shi Mingyue likes me a lot, but she might just think I'm joking... but I don't like that."

Yun Zhan looked at the tea pet on the table with a worried expression. If she didn't do this, Bai Jichen would probably really...

Why…

"Don't sigh. If Shi Mingyue can treat it as a romantic gesture, why can't you? Just treat it as a little joke between lovers. If she's really angry, make it up to her."

late at night

After taking a bath, Shi Mingyue loosely wore a bathrobe, her jet-black hair was only dried with a towel, and water droplets still clung to the ends.

She stood in front of the mirror and looked at her skin—smooth, delicate…and then at her face; still very beautiful.

She sat on the bed, staring absently at the nightlight on the table: When Yun Zhan shared a bed with her before, he never crossed the line or overstepped the boundaries... On the contrary, he often avoided her. Could it be that she lacked charm? Was she not attractive enough to him?

Shi Mingyue frowned slightly; she had begun to doubt herself.

Or should she take the initiative first?

Yun Zhan was very inexperienced and had no experience in this area.

Just as Shi Mingyue was pondering how to bring up this matter with Yun Zhan, the door suddenly opened.

The light was turned down to a sliver, and the room felt like a vacuum, devoid of sound.

"Baby, are you done taking a bath?" Shi Mingyue looked at her with a smile, and just as she opened her arms to hug her lover, Yun Zhan's gaze turned cold.

Shi Mingyue paused for a moment, then lowered her outstretched arms.

What's wrong with Yun Zhan? Something seems off.

Shi Mingyue wanted to speak, but Yun Zhan closed the door behind her.

Yun Zhan raised his eyes, his gaze icy, and gradually approached.

Shi Mingyue was pressed into the chair, her wrists wrapped around the back of the chair, the knot tightened, leaving gaps, yet it was realistic enough.

Yun Zhan lowered his eyes, concealing the fleeting panic in them. When he looked up again, only a chilling aura remained.

"You...sit still."

His voice was short and deliberately hoarse.

She undid the first button of Shi Mingyue's collar with one hand, her fingertips lingering deliberately, making a wanton and flirtatious gesture, but she trembled almost imperceptibly the moment she felt the warmth of that skin.

"You'd better listen to me and give yourself to me." Yun Zhan leaned down, his lips close to his earlobe, his breath hot, but his words were fierce.

"Don't move! Do you want to be bedridden tomorrow morning?"

The moment Shi Mingyue was pushed back into the chair, her eyelashes fluttered slightly, and a trace of confusion flashed in her eyes, not understanding why Yun Zhan suddenly had a cold face.

But she didn't move.

Her wrists wrapped around the back of the chair, the rough knots brushing against her skin. She only slightly flinched her fingertips before obediently letting herself be tied, even stretching her arms back to make it easier for Yun Zhan to tie the knots.

"Wife?" Shi Mingyue called softly, her voice tinged with questioning, yet as if afraid of disturbing the other person, it was soft and gentle.

Until that deliberately lowered voice, "Can't get out of bed," reached my ears.

Shi Mingyue was stunned for half a second, and the tips of her ears turned a light red at a speed visible to the naked eye.

She looked up, her doe-like eyes bright and clear, reflecting Yun Zhan's feigned fierce expression. A touch of red spread from the tip of her ear to the corner of her eye, like the sunset reflected on a lake, shimmering and gentle.

She suddenly curved her lips into a sweet smile, her eyes filled with indulgent teasing, and her voice was so soft that only the two of them could hear it.

"So... my baby was rewarding me?"

The last syllable rose, like a feather brushing against Yun Zhan's earlobe, carrying a touch of childlike sweetness, soft and alluring.

She even leaned forward slightly, her wrists, which were tied to the back of the chair, moved slightly, and her fingertips just happened to touch Yun Zhan's knuckles, gently scratching him.

The little doe's eyes were bright and clear, showing no fear, only overflowing doting and trust.

I will cooperate with whatever you do.

Because I know you wouldn't really hurt me.

She tilted her head, the curve of her lips deepening, her voice cloyingly sweet:

"I love you, you should know that... so please reward me as much as you like."

Those eyes were so soft, so bright, like a pool of warm water, softening all of Yun Zhan's feigned coldness.
