Chapter 259 Injury

The water flow was so strong that I didn't even have time to notice it.

And then the water rushed right in front of me. I lost my footing and was slammed right under the water.

I felt a sharp pain in my chest after choking on water, and the feeling of not being able to breathe made me feel extremely desperate.

But I quickly calmed down, and with a quick thought, I grabbed the stone that had hit me and struggled to get up.

At that moment, Wang Ping and the others rushed in front of me and blocked my way.

"Sihai, now is not the time to think about saving people at all costs. Let's step back and see if that male colleague has been swept away to another place."

I struggled as Wang Ping pulled me up and we took a few steps back. I grabbed the tree trunk and was able to stand up with difficulty.

Meanwhile, the rain continued to pour down from the sky, making it impossible to see anything clearly.

Wang Ping immediately shouted a few times behind him, and all of us male colleagues huddled together, tightly surrounding a tree to keep our balance.

But I haven't found out about that male colleague yet, and I'm really worried.

Because I wasn't sure if he would have survived if I had gone to save him any later.

After thinking it over, I patted Wang Ping on the shoulder and said, "No, you stay here and keep an eye on them. I have to go down and check on them!"

She became agitated at this point: "But Brother Sihai, he was swept away by the current and hasn't shown up yet. He's probably already dead. If you go now, you might end up like him. How am I supposed to explain this to all the women when I get back? Besides, everyone depends on you to live. What will we do if something really happens to you?"

Of course I know Wang Ping and ** are worried about my safety.

But if I were to watch a male colleague I used to be close to just disappear and die right before my eyes, I definitely wouldn't be able to accept it.

“Take off your shirts and follow behind me. I will walk in front, and you will carefully follow behind. Once you spot him, pull him out immediately. Otherwise, if he stays submerged in the water, he may not survive.”

Seeing that I wouldn't listen to their advice, Wang Ping and the others gritted their teeth and followed behind me. I knew that I was now truly risking all of our lives to save him.

But giving up without even trying is really not in my nature.

We struggled to run forward, and after being swept along by the current for a while, we finally found something that looked like a piece of clothing on a large rock. I raised my hand and realized that it was the male colleague who had been swept away by the current.

His face was deathly pale, and his stomach was swollen; he looked no more than alive.

I was immediately very anxious. He had obviously been knocked unconscious by something and was now submerged in the water.

But when I checked his pulse, I found he still had a heartbeat, which meant there was still hope!

I immediately looked at Wang Ping and the others behind me: "Quickly find a place to stay. We need to do some basic first aid for him first."

Wang Ping and the others immediately turned around and looked around, but there was water everywhere and it was still raining, so there was no way to find a place to stand.

I was extremely anxious, but I couldn't pull him up the tree. In his current state, it was clear that he couldn't be treated in time and was likely to die.

I immediately patted Wang Ping on the shoulder: "You guys come here, form a circle around us, and make sure we don't run out."

Then, I grabbed ** and made her lift her leg and step on a large rock, trying to raise her leg as high as possible. Then I put the male colleague on **'s leg and hit him hard on the back.

After we knocked on him for a long time, he finally coughed and spat out a lot of water. His face looked even worse, but he could breathe on his own, which meant he was alright.

Now that we've rescued him, we need to hurry back to the small cave we found with the foreigners.

Even though the water outside is so high, I believe it's still possible to stay inside the cave.

Moreover, we would be much better off without the pounding of these raindrops.

Fortunately, we hadn't walked for very long when we came out, so if we can get back safely, it shouldn't be too difficult.

I carried my male colleague Wang Ping on my back, while he and ** followed on either side of me. A male colleague led the way, and we waded through water that was almost waist-deep, making our way forward with great difficulty.

We thought our ordeal was over, but before we knew it, a mournful cry suddenly came from behind us.

Before I could even turn my head to look, ** plunged headfirst into the water. Wang Ping, who was next to me, heard the commotion and quickly ran to **'s side, but after pulling her up twice, he couldn't get her out at all.

When I saw this, I immediately shouted to my colleagues who were still walking ahead, and turned around to try to pull them away, but I was carrying someone on my back and couldn't do anything about it.

Fortunately, the male colleagues quickly ran back and tried to pull Li Peng and Wang Ping away.

But after being pulled a few times, the group of people were all wobbling and almost fell over.

I yelled at them, telling them they had to stay calm, because if anyone fell into the water, there would be no saving them.

Just then, someone popped their head out of the water and shouted at us, "There's something in the water! Brother Sihai, run! There's something in the water!"

What could possibly be in this water now? Could it have come up from the sea?

My mind was racing for a moment, but since I hadn't seen it, I had no idea what it was.

But I know for sure that I can't stay here any longer.

I hoisted my male colleague onto my back and looked at the others, yelling at the top of my lungs, "Hurry up, hurry up!"

I took the gun I had brought with me out of my pocket and fired a shot into the water.

But bullets are not as powerful in water as they are in air, and besides, I have no idea what's in the water, let alone why ** suddenly said such a thing.

But I soon found out, because I saw a huge fish head emerge from the water, its tail thrashing about. Although the water was flowing westward, the fish stubbornly kept charging towards us.

By the light of the lightning bolts, I discovered that this fish actually had quite a few teeth in its mouth!
