Just as Zhao Youliang was pondering, Cao Daxian suddenly sneered and spoke.
"Boss, I'm not interested in your own petty affairs. Tell me if you want, or don't."
"But surely they wouldn't come all the way here just to pray to gods and Buddhas because of this, would they?"
"Is there anything else? Tell us all at once."
"Let's take this opportunity to have a good chat with the Zhao family!"
Hearing what Master Cao said, Zhao Youliang did not object.
Since the other party is determined to provoke me anyway, I might as well just go for it.
Although Hu Dalu was unaware of the feud between Zhao Youliang and Cao Daxian, seeing that the other party was willing to help him, he quickly continued to tell the story.
Before speaking, however, he didn't forget to flatter Master Cao.
"This...this esteemed immortal has indeed other matters to discuss..."
It turned out that after the strange footsteps started again, Hu Dalu simply sealed off the three-story building, not allowing anyone to enter.
As a result, things did quiet down for a while.
Unfortunately, the good times didn't last long. Just over a month later, the factory started to catch fire for no apparent reason.
Fortunately, the security guards were quite responsible and always managed to spot the incidents in time, which prevented any major losses.
At first, Hu Dalu thought that some workers were deliberately causing trouble because they were dissatisfied with his exploitation.
So they not only hired six security guards to patrol day and night, but also installed surveillance cameras everywhere in the huge factory area.
They're just waiting to find out who's messing with them, arrest them, and hand them over to the police.
When Hu Dalu got to this point, he was interrupted by Cao Daxian with a cold laugh.
"If I'm not mistaken, did you see something eerie on the security camera, and that's why you've come here begging for help?"
"Tell me, what did you see?"
Recalling what he had seen, Hu Dalu subconsciously shuddered and shrank his neck.
Initially, everything seemed normal according to the surveillance footage. Six security guards were patrolling the factory area in groups of three.
Hu Dalu sat in his office, drinking and eating while keeping a close eye on things.
But in the middle of the night, strange things happened:
The surveillance footage shook for a while, as if it had been subjected to strong interference.
Seeing this, Hu Dalu, who had a guilty conscience, was naturally shocked and quickly pulled the workshop director who had been drinking with him over.
Fortunately, nothing "strange" happened after the picture returned to normal.
Just as Hu Dalu breathed a long sigh of relief, he suddenly noticed that the workshop director's hand holding the wine glass was trembling uncontrollably, just like a Parkinson's patient.
The beer spilled out, making the plate of fried peanuts all wet.
"Hey Lao Wang, are you fucking drunk?"
Hu Dalu cursed as he moved the peanuts aside.
"It can't be that bad, we've only had a little bit to drink..."
Amidst Hu Dalu's curses, the workshop foreman was almost in tears.
His face was filled with terror, and he didn't even dare to look at the surveillance screen.
Before Hu Dalu could ask, the workshop director spoke up tremblingly.
"Boss, you didn't hire extra security guards today, did you?"
Hu Dalu was taken aback by the question, then burst out cursing: "You need to hire more people? Six aren't enough?"
"You'll have to pay to hire someone else? Do you know how expensive labor is these days?!"
Upon hearing this, the workshop director's expression of fear deepened.
"No, you didn't hire any extra people?"
"Th-then...boss, please take a good look at the security footage...oh my god, it's haunted!"
Upon hearing what the workshop director said, Hu Dalu quickly turned his head to look.
At first, nothing seemed amiss, and just as they were about to continue reprimanding the workshop director, they suddenly realized something was wrong.
He quickly rubbed his eyes and looked again—the security guards who were originally patrolling in groups of three had one extra person in one of the groups, making it four!
And this person followed behind the three of them, silent and with his head down.
The reason we were certain the extra security guard wasn't human was because there wasn't a single good spot on his exposed skin.
It was covered in pus and fluid, looking like the dried skin had been torn off after being burned by a fire.
"Holy crap!"
Upon seeing this, Hu Lu was terrified and even lost control of his bladder and bowels without realizing it.
"Impossible, this is absolutely impossible!!"
While calling out to the mainland, he backed away, and with a loud crash, he knocked over a row of tables and chairs, causing soup and water to spill all over the floor.
Compared to Hu Dalu, the workshop director was slightly better off.
In a panic, he hurriedly picked up the walkie-talkie, pressed the talk button, and shouted loudly.
"Stop wandering around like an idiot, look behind you!"
"You guys are following this ghost!!"
Unfortunately, no matter how loudly the workshop director shouted, only a crackling sound came from the patrolling security guards' walkie-talkies, like an old-fashioned television with no signal.
In a moment of panic, the workshop director tried to run out to call for help, but was held back tightly by Hu Dalu.
"What the hell are you doing? Stop right there!"
"Aren't you afraid of bringing evil spirits here if you go out now?!"
"You poor wretch, you're dead, but I haven't lived enough yet!"
Hu Dalu cursed while staring fearfully at the monitor screen.
He wanted to see what the ghost looked like, or rather, to see what the evil spirit would do next.
Just then, the demon suddenly raised its head, revealing a face that was also dripping with pus.
This face is staring intently at the camera monitoring it.
Suddenly, terrifying ghost faces filled the entire screen!
Upon seeing this, Hu Dalu was so frightened that he sat down on the ground.
"How could it be him?!"
"Impossible, this is impossible!!"
While he was talking to himself, before the workshop director could even ask who the "he" Hu Dalu was talking about was, the ghost face in the surveillance footage zoomed in again.
Even in the six split screens, ghost faces appeared.
Then all the split screens merged together, filling the entire screen.
The grotesque face grinned maliciously: "Hoo, you just wait, we're back!"
"You must die, you will definitely die!"
At this point in the story, Hu Dalu suddenly shut up, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead with lingering fear.
He stopped talking, and Li Mao, who had entered at some point, couldn't take it anymore.
"And then? What happened next?"
"Say it!"
Normally, Hu Dalu would not have paid any attention to a nobody like Li Mao.
But now that he needs someone's help, he naturally dares not be negligent.
Upon hearing this, he immediately chuckled awkwardly and said, "Then...then I was so scared that I fainted, and when I woke up it was already daylight."
Upon hearing this, Li Mao's interest waned: "What? It's that simple?"
"I thought that even if the filthy thing didn't eat you, it would still cut off a big kidney from you."
Hu Dalu was speechless after Li Mao's words and could only continue to smirk...
