In that short time, large groups of wandering ghosts had arrived beside the Great Lama and Hu Dalu.
When they passed through the car, it seemed as if a thousand years had passed in an instant, and the car became dilapidated.
The ghosts seemed to sense the presence of the two lamas, sniffing around them and then gathering in a circle.
At this moment, the high lama was using the Tibetan Buddhist "Withered Wood Mantra," and his whole being was like a withered tree that was undergoing a process of introspection and waiting to be rejuvenated. Therefore, the ghost could only sniff hard, wander around anxiously and roar, but could not find its target.
It's like when a person holds their breath, the zombie can't find them.
The amazing thing is that even without the Withered Wood Technique, Hu Dalu, who kept chanting "Namo Amitabha Buddha" with his eyes closed, was "unseen" by ghosts, who also lingered around him like starving wild beasts.
At this moment, Hu Dalu felt as if he were surrounded by countless extremely cold air currents, making his whole body tremble with cold.
This is, of course, due to the yin energy emanating from the ghost.
Yin, by its very nature, encompasses the full meaning of cold and loneliness.
After an unknown amount of time, the wandering ghost seemed to lose patience and became increasingly violent and restless.
Like a pack of starving wolves, they clearly sense that there is prey nearby, but they can't find it no matter what they do.
After the ghosts went berserk, the continent of Hu naturally felt even colder.
As an ordinary person, he could even vaguely sense ghosts getting close to him, sniffing and smelling him face to face.
Under these circumstances, Hu Dalu subconsciously opened his eyes to check.
As soon as he opened his eyes, he sensed something—the ghosts saw him too.
Then, with a ferocious grin, it pounced on Hu Dalu, pinning him to the ground and tearing at him frantically.
Amidst screams, Hu Dalu was instantly disemboweled, his internal organs flying everywhere.
Even so, Hu Dalu, with his strong will to survive, was not completely dead. Instead, he dragged his ghostly body and crawled with difficulty toward the Grand Lama.
"Great Master, please have mercy and save me."
"I'll give you all my money, please save me..."
At this moment, the high lama was internally devastated and kept cursing in his heart.
"Are you an idiot, Mr. Hu?!"
"You're dead, so why are you touching me!"
"Don't you dare come any closer!!"
Hu Dalu, of course, did not hear the Grand Lama's thoughts and continued to crawl towards this side with his last bit of strength.
"Master...Master, save me..."
At the moment of Hu Dalu's death, his hands, stained with his own blood, finally touched the "feigning death" lama.
Thus, the Grand Lama's "Withered Wood Technique" was instantly shattered by the rush of blood.
It is no longer a dead tree, but a "new bud" that is gradually unfolding.
In this situation, the Grand Lama lost all desire to continue cursing Huluda and quickly gathered his breath, shouting the "Six-Syllable Mantra of Great Compassion".
"Om Mani Padme Hum!"
"Bless, Mahakala! May all ghosts and evil spirits be banished!"
As the incantation was completed, a wave of energy emanated from the high lama, blasting away all the ghosts that had surrounded him.
Taking this opportunity, the high lama took out a prayer mat, stepped on it, and began chanting rapidly.
"May the Heavenly Kings protect and bless me, and may all the Heavenly Kings appear so that I may worship in the Pure Land!"
As it turned out, this great lama was truly capable, at least on par with the great master Kubhun—the one who gave Zhao Youliang many treasures.
After the high lama finished chanting the mantra, the prayer mat actually lifted him up with a whoosh.
In an instant, it broke free from the encirclement of the ghosts and tried to fly away into the distance.
Then, at that moment, a strange change occurred: a large red ghost sedan chair appeared without warning and heavily pressed down on the head of the Grand Lama.
Thus, the great lama, who could have soared to great heights, was instantly brought back down to earth.
Not only were they pressed back to the ground, but they were also pressed so hard they couldn't lift their heads, and their backs were even bent over.
Upon seeing this, the ghosts immediately rushed over with sinister smiles, scratching and clawing at the Grand Lama.
Those jet-black fingernails, sharp as knives, seemed capable of disemboweling even the Grand Lama at any moment.
This ghost sedan chair was the one that Zhao Youliang landed on Li Mao's car roof after his first hospitalization.
(For details, please refer to Chapter 0292: The Bridal Sedan Chair, the last part of this book.)
In the critical moment, the high lama swiftly took out a pure gold prayer wheel and shook it rapidly, from which the sound of chanting the Vajra Subduing Demons Sutra resounded.
Moreover, it was not just one person reciting; it was as if hundreds or thousands of people were devoutly reading aloud.
As the grand chanting of scriptures filled the air, all the ghosts immediately displayed expressions of extreme pain, clutching their heads with their hands, squatting on the ground, and wailing loudly.
After temporarily controlling the group of ghosts, the Grand Lama quickly took out a vajra and propped it on the ground to stop the ghost sedan chair from pressing down.
"Evil spirit, this sorcerer had no intention of meddling in other people's business, but you've brought this upon yourself!"
After saying this, he ripped off the human bone rosary hanging around his neck, and with a wave of his hand, sent all eighteen bone beads flying toward the ghost sedan chair.
"May Vajra forever protect you, grant you blessings, and make you fearless and undaunted!"
The ghost sedan chair seemed to be very wary of these bone beads, and upon seeing them, it quickly floated away to avoid them.
Blood kept flowing out of the ghost sedan chair, as if it were connected to a surging river of blood.
The blood poured down, not only polluting the eighteen bone beads and greatly reducing their power, but also gradually suppressing the chanting.
In this way, the large group of ghosts immediately calmed down and, once again revealing their ferocious expressions, pounced on the Grand Lama.
The high lama was utterly shocked: "This is no ordinary blood; it's actually water from a dark spring!"
