Chapter 11 Half a Foot Merchant

After hearing the price, Lin Mo nodded thoughtfully. He planned that this trip would take a month, which meant that he would have to earn at least more than a thousand taels in this month so that he could build a new house in his hometown. It would be best if he could buy a shop directly in the town. Renting a shop would not be his own after all.

If people knew what he was thinking, they would definitely think he was dreaming. Earning more than a thousand taels in just over a month was something that couldn't even be done with magic tricks!

Of course Lin Mo knew that this was an exaggeration. If he didn't have superpowers, he would never dare to think about it, let alone plan to do business. But since he had superpowers, then making the first pot of gold didn't seem very difficult.

After eating and drinking his fill, Lin Mo ran to a nearby shop and bought two beautiful large wooden barrels, and a dozen beautiful porcelain bowls and spoons. When he was buying brown sugar at the end, he was stunned. He originally wanted to buy some sour plums to make sour plum juice and sell it on the roadside.

Lin Mo had planned this long ago. Since the superpower had come with him, he might as well make use of it. In this hot summer, everyone would love to have a sip of sour plum juice with ice. But who knew that sugar was so expensive here? When he was penniless, he stood on the roadside with his things in his hand, looking confused.

The weather was scorching hot, and he was thinking of going to big places like the county town or the provincial capital to sell his drinks. But now he didn't even have the money for the trip. Lin Mo subconsciously searched everywhere in the space, but he couldn't find any sugar, dried fruits, or the like.

"Is this... breakfast milk powder?" Lin Mo found a place where no one was around, took out the breakfast milk powder, and looked at it carefully several times. It was adult breakfast milk powder. Seeing this, he immediately had an idea. Since he couldn't make it without fruit, he might as well sell some simple version of iced milk tea first!

Lin Mo did it as soon as he thought of it. He quietly poured most of the milk powder into the wooden barrel and put the remaining half back into the space. This was a large bag of adult breakfast milk powder. At that time, he thought it was flour and collected it as supplies.

Since he had nowhere to go, he could only go back to the restaurant where he started. The breakfast powder needed boiling water to be dissolved, so he had to find a place to get some hot water.

"Little Brother, can you give me some boiling water? I'll give you the money when the time comes."

The waiter looked at Lin Mo in embarrassment and called his shopkeeper over. The shopkeeper was a little old man who was still counting the bills. When he heard Lin Mo's request, he took a closer look at the small half bucket of milk powder.

He immediately opened his eyes wide, took a deep breath, and said in disbelief, "Little brother, is this the taste of milk? But how did this milk become powdered?"

Lin Mo bowed his hands, a smile on his face, and said politely: "Boss, this is not milk powder, it's just ordinary beans and milk. Boss, give me some boiling water and I'll make you a cup to try."

The shopkeeper nodded quickly and sent someone to bring out a bucket of steaming water. Lin Mo immediately took out the bamboo spoon he had prepared in advance. He originally wanted to buy an iron spoon, but it was too expensive and he could not afford it, so he could only buy a bamboo one.

Stirring it skillfully, he added the freshly bought brown sugar. A rich milky aroma filled the entire shop. Some of the diners in the shop kept glancing over. Lin Mo asked for an empty bowl and filled it with one for the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper blew on it, took a sip, and immediately said with satisfaction, "It's delicious, not too sweet or greasy, and three times more delicious than soy milk."

"Actually, this can just be drunk as soy milk. Thank you, boss. How much is this bucket of boiling water..." Lin Mo said as he was about to check the money.

The shopkeeper immediately stopped him and said, "You're too polite, little brother. How can I ask you for money for just a little water? Feel free to take it. Besides, I drank a bowl of your water. How can I ask you for money if you don't ask me for it?"

Lin Mo was waiting for this sentence. Even if he wanted money, he couldn't produce it. The way he took out the money was just a pretense. After all, his wallet was already empty.

After thanking him repeatedly, Lin Mo walked out carrying half a bucket of milk powder and half a bucket of cold water.

He found a crowded place and started hawking: "Don't miss it if you pass by. Cold and delicious milk tea, fragrant and delicious milk tea, only three cents a bowl."

Lin Mo was hawking his wares to the pedestrians on the street. A young man in a gorgeous silk dress looked at him. He saw a wooden bucket of white pulp and a wooden bucket of crushed ice beside him and immediately asked, "Boss, what's this white thing you have?"

"Sir, this is milk tea. Would you like a cup?" Lin Mo asked.

"Where did this ice come from? Is it clean?" the young man asked in confusion.

Lin Mo immediately understood why he had been hawking for so long. There were many people looking at him, but no one was buying. He probably thought it was because ice cubes were a bit rare in the summer. "Don't worry, young master, these are all clean ice cubes. They are ice cubes that only the rich and powerful can enjoy. My whole family eats this in the summer. My eldest brother, who is a businessman, gave some to me. My family couldn't bear to eat them, so I took them out to do a little business. Don't worry, everyone!"

Everyone was skeptical about what he heard, but Lin Mo didn't hesitate either. He picked up a piece of ice and put it into his mouth.

The young man nodded when he saw this. The sun was shining brightly and he was so hot that he felt sticky all over. He motioned Lin Mo to give him a bowl. Some people began to gather around him and looked at Lin Mo curiously. Lin Mo immediately took out a large bowl, filled it with half a bowl of milk tea, then scooped a spoonful of crushed ice and put a small spoon on it. A bowl of milky shaved milk tea was ready.

It is rare to have ice cubes in the summer, especially when they are so cheap, so many people stop involuntarily when they smell the fragrance, but no one dares to come over. In the summer, ice cubes are a luxury that only rich people can afford. Ordinary people have never seen ice cubes in the summer, let alone used them.

The young man looked at the milk in the bowl suspiciously, but finally succumbed to the delicious taste and drank a big spoonful without hesitation. In an instant, the warm milky aroma enveloped his entire mouth, and the thin ice cubes immediately drove away the warmth. The feeling of ice and fire invaded the tip of his tongue, making this ancient young man feel extremely satisfied.

In an instant, my entire scalp felt numb from the ice in my mouth, and the heat all over my body dissipated the next moment, and I felt much more refreshed.

The young master sighed with satisfaction, and suddenly felt that this sticky hot summer was not unbearable. He greedily drank a few more sips, his face full of satisfaction.

This simple version of milk tea is still a little hot now, and it tastes unique when eaten with fine shaved ice. Even Lin Mo thinks it tastes good. With the young master taking the lead, others were attracted over, and when they saw his satisfied look, many people also tried to buy it.
