On the contrary, he was familiar with Lin Wu, and he initially thought that Tang Le came to help his house simply because he was on good terms with Lin Wu.
After all, he was a thoughtful person. Tang Le had been particularly attentive during this period, sending him food and drinks from time to time, and even chatting with him. He slowly began to notice this.
Rubbing the jade pendant in his palm, Lin Sheng felt a subtle feeling in his heart. An indescribable joy filled the bridal chamber, making him feel dizzy.
When he thought about how Tang Le had liked him for many years and had been secretly treating him well for many years, he felt warm in his heart and his ears couldn't help but blush.
"I told you last year, when your third son was feeling better, I told you that you didn't want to. Even if the third and fourth sons got married, you wouldn't marry. You wanted to stay with Awen for the rest of your life."
Tang Le made an awkward excuse. When he heard this, he went home and hid in bed crying all night.
Lin Sheng thought about it for a moment and then remembered that it was the autumn harvest time and Tang Le came to help in the fields. He and Lin Wu were chatting when Tang Le, who was working hard on the side, suddenly asked him a question. He didn't think too much about it at the time and just answered it.
Who knew he wanted to marry me? Really, it was just ordinary gossip.
"I really don't want to get married, Tang Le. What I said back then was true, and I don't want to get married now. I'm really worried about Awen's situation."
Tang Le suddenly lowered his head as if he had released some strength. He was tall and strong, but this posture made him look like a big bear that had been hit hard, so weak that it made people feel itchy.
"I know you can't let go of Lin Wen, just like I can't let go of my young child at home."
The two looked at each other, and the air suddenly became quiet. No one spoke anymore, but the atmosphere seemed more oppressive than the ambiguity just now.
He supported them as they walked forward. Both of them were confused, but because no one spoke, they walked much faster and soon arrived at Tang Le's house.
Under the cover of night, a lamp illuminated the entire house. The dim light coming out of the window was like a lamp in the abyss, pulling Tang Le.
Two sleepy children were squatting at the door. They were snuggling together, sitting on the threshold of the gate with their little bodies curled up together.
"Dad! You're back!" Hearing the voice, the slightly fatter child suddenly widened his eyes. When he saw Tang Le and Lin Sheng pushing the door open, he shouted in surprise: "Uncle Sheng, you're here too! Come in quickly, I'll pour you some sugar water!"
The child was obviously very excited. He completely ignored Tang Le beside him and ran back excitedly. He rummaged through the boxes and cupboards to find the sugar cubes. After pouring water, he generously put a lot of sugar cubes in.
After Lin Sheng helped Tang Le sit at the dining table in the main hall, he attentively held the bowl and carefully placed it in front of Lin Sheng.
Lin Sheng smiled dotingly, took a sip from the bowl, and the child in front of him had bright eyes. The dim yellow light could not block his bright light that was as bright as stars.
After finally finding Lin Sheng, Lin Mo, who was following behind, couldn't help but look at the child twice.
He found Tang Le and Lin Sheng later. He didn't hear much of their conversation. He wanted to go and say hello and take Lin Sheng home, but the two of them didn't say a word along the way and the atmosphere was very weird and awkward, so he had to follow them at a distance.
Lin Mo stood quietly outside the fenced yard, trying to find a suitable opportunity to enter.
"Little Deer, yoyo, next time you don't have to wait for daddy at the door. When it gets dark, just close the door and go back to your room to sleep."
Tang Le limped to the cupboard and took out a package wrapped in yellowed oil paper. The carefully stored oil paper was opened layer by layer, revealing a few yellowed rice cakes inside.
The shape of the rice cake is still well preserved, and it is obvious that it has been carefully stored by the owner.
"This is the rice cake I bought yesterday. It's still fresh. Try it."
The two children also looked at it eagerly, but there were not many rice cakes left, only two pieces, and the rest were small crumbs.
Lin Sheng refused to give any to the two children. There was no such thing as snacks for children in the village. Even if the family bought cakes, they would not eat them all at once. Instead, they would divide them into several portions and give them to the children every day to satisfy their cravings.
He had naturally craved these cakes in the past, but since his family became better off, Lin Mo would buy some cakes from time to time. He ate more and was not as greedy as before.
"I just ate a lot of food, and I'm still full now. Let's give it to the children." Lin Sheng said as he gave each of the two children a piece.
Both children were stunned, their eyes wide open. This piece of rice cake was as big as an adult man's palm. Usually they would share one piece between two people, but this was the first time that each of them had a piece.
"Uncle Sheng eats too. It's delicious. Yoyo loves it the most."
"Yes, Xiaolu likes it too. Uncle, please try it."
The two children were very enthusiastic. They held up the cakes and put them towards Lin Sheng's mouth, which made Lin Sheng laugh out loud.
Tang Le's two children are very shy. Although they are twins, they look obviously different due to physical reasons. The older one is called Xiaolu, a little man with a chubby body. He usually takes care of his younger brother when Tang Le is not at home.
My younger brother’s name is Youyou. He is thin and because of his poor health, he spends most of his time in bed, so he is more timid.
The two children seldom socialized with the villagers. Tang Le used to go hunting in the mountains and would be gone for several days. The two children were often alone at home. They rarely relied too much on people other than Tang Le, but they were always very friendly towards Lin Sheng.
