Lin Mo sat on the stone bench in the yard. It was a rare occasion that he didn't have to do anything. He waited quietly, not knowing whether it was a surprise or a shock to the unknown.
A leaf quietly fell onto his robe and was gently caught by the light blue satin.
Suddenly, a violent autumn wind blew from the valley behind the mountain, carrying the ginkgo leaves on the hillside and sweeping them into this mortal village.
Lin Mo felt the refreshing autumn breeze on his face. Looking up, a golden expanse caught his eye. He bowed his head for a moment, feeling a bit dazed. The falling leaves from the sky felt like gold foil being scattered down to the earth.
He smiled happily and looked at Su Mu in the room. The figure by the window was painting with his head bowed, thinking for a while, painting for a while, his eyes smiling and his brows relaxed.
In the field, the child picked up a fallen leaf with great joy, and the two of them chased and played in the field, laughing.
A new sprout sprouted from the brown earth. Sweat dripped down the backs of every farmer, hot and sticky, yet it couldn't stop them from wielding their hoes.
Under a big tree at the entrance of the village, a man dressed in cloth but clean as ever was holding a dozen famous scriptures and walking under the shade of the tree.
A group of half-grown children were milling around him. He took a classic collection, opened the first page, and told them the story of history in detail.
Time slipped away quietly. Lin Mo didn't know how long he had slept on the stone table. When he woke up, he saw a green cloak on his shoulders. He knew it was Su Mu who put it on him.
He looked towards the kitchen and found it was already empty. Looking around, even Su Mu was not at the window. It seemed that he was the only one left here...
Lin Mo folded his cloak and placed it on the table. He walked into the house with slow steps.
He walked through the long corridor, and the red pillars now looked much dimmer.
When he arrived at the hall, it was deserted and silent. He walked through their rooms one by one, and every room was eerily quiet.
In the yard, the original flowers and plants are still there, and the flowers are in full bloom, even covering the color of the green leaves, and the trunks are bent under the weight.
As we walked out of the gate, the newly hung lanterns above our heads were still bright and swayed gently in the wind, as if to say, "Welcome home" to those returning home.
Lin Mo stood at the door for a long time. Despite the cool autumn breeze, he remained motionless at the door.
The autumn wind was a little quick, bringing some dust, which unfortunately caught Lin Mo's eyes.
He frowned slightly, his eyes half-closed, and after a while, the dryness and stinging in his eyes disappeared. He came to his senses, slowly raised his hand, and stared at his palm.
Ever since the last time he healed Su Yunxia, he has never used his ice ability again.
It won’t be useful when the weather gets cold.
However, today, he seemed to feel that the supernatural power was gradually disappearing, but the space was still there.
Lin Mo was thinking that when he and Su Mu got married, he would tell him everything about himself. He didn't want to hide anything from his sweetheart. He should know, and needed to know, everything about his significant other.
Lin Mo waited in the wind until dark. There were not many lights in the village, and his home was far away. On the huge muddy road, only this one house had a bright light.
I don’t know how long it took, but at the end of the path, a little light appeared.
Two lanterns, with a subtle flame, vaguely showed five or six people, their eyes fixed on each other, their steps moving together, all heading in the direction of Lin Mo.
This is the direction of home.
In the dim firelight, one person ran towards the man in front of the door, opened his arms, and threw himself into Lin Mo's arms. The two hugged each other tightly. The joy was silent but more powerful than words.
"Lin Mo, why are you waiting for us at the door? It's a chilly autumn day. Let's go inside."
The former's joy is visible on his face, while the latter's smile is cheerful, with love hidden in her heart.
Lin Mo carefully held Su Mu's fair smiling face, and a faint tear overflowed from the corner of his eye, light and shallow, and disappeared in an instant.
"Where have you been?"
Su Mu heard the worry in Lin Mo's words. He held his face with both hands, stood on tiptoes, and kissed him.
The touch between their lips was soft, warm, and slightly moist. Su Mu closed her eyes tightly and kissed him gently.
Lin Mo put his arms around his waist, bringing them closer together. His heartbeat rose and fell in his chest, and their love was intertwined.
"Don't leave me, okay, Su Mu." Lin Mo pleaded with a hoarse voice.
Su Mu smiled gently and said sincerely: "Wherever you are, I will be there!"
The group of people behind, holding lanterns in their hands, also walked to the door, their faces full of smiles again.
It turned out that Lin Sheng and Su Yunxia were brewing wine in the kitchen. In order to prevent the outside air from affecting the taste of the wine, they closed the doors and windows to brew the wine.
On a wedding day, when entertaining guests, how can you miss wedding wine? Cheap wine bought outside is rough and spicy, while expensive wine is delicious and mellow, but the cost is too high.
Lin Sheng and the others thought the wedding was already a big deal, so they wanted to save some money for Lin Mo, so they made their own wine. It was delicious and inexpensive.
In the afternoon, Su Mu saw Lin Mo lying on the stone table and fell asleep. Worried that he would catch a cold, he found a cloak to cover him.
Thinking about how Lin Mo had been busy these past few days since he came back and hadn't had a good rest at all, I didn't want to disturb his rest, so I didn't wake him up.
The distillation lasted an entire afternoon, until near dusk. The total volume was fifty or sixty kilograms, enough for the hundred or so people in the village.
They poured the wine into the jars, covered them with lids, and sealed the gaps with mud.
The two of them carried a jar together and went to the hillside next to the field. They dug a few holes and buried the jars in them. They would dig them out and use them the day before the wedding.
After a busy trip, it was already night. The lanterns were borrowed from other families in the village and had to be returned the next morning.
We came back late at night, so we just cooked some noodles.
However, Lin Mo looked a little different than before, with a slightly haggard face. Su Mu was a little worried and reached out to touch his forehead, afraid that he was sick and was just pretending to be fine.
Fortunately, it was just a false alarm. Lin Mo was a little dazed and said, "I'm not sick."
Su Mu withdrew his hand and nodded slightly in agreement.
"Well, I'll boil some herbs for you tonight and give you a bath. I think you've been so busy lately and you're really tired. You need some rest."
After a simple dinner, Su Mu took a bamboo basket and grabbed a bunch of various Chinese medicines from the shelf. He washed them all, poured them into a large iron pot, and boiled water.
When steam finally began to come out of the pot and boiling bubbles were rising from the water, Su Mu put out the remaining firewood on the stove.
He carefully took the wooden bucket and poured the medicinal water into it spoonful by spoonful. Then, when the wooden bucket was full, he carried the bucket to the bathing room with one hand and poured the small bucket of medicinal soup into the large wooden bucket.
After running back and forth several times, I finally poured out all the potion.
Lin Mo looked at it with heartache, but Su Mu said that he was not allowed to touch these things. If he dared to touch them, Su Mu would be angry with him.
