Chapter 186: Marriage (Part 2)

After finishing their meal, Lin Sheng and Su Yunxia took the initiative to clear the table and took on the task of washing the dishes.

Lin Mo had nothing to do, so he stayed in the yard with Su Mu to get some fresh air and digest his food.

There was another knock on the door, and Lin Mo realized that it must be the people from the Lin family's old house who had arrived.

Su Mu stood up and wanted to open the door, but was stopped by Lin Mo. He walked up and opened the door for them.

As soon as the door opened, Mrs. Lin's voice came in.

"Lin Mo, have you had breakfast?" Old Mrs. Lin asked with a warm smile.

Lin Mo's face showed no extra expression. Out of politeness, he responded, "I've eaten."

Old Madam Lin and her men were standing outside the door. Seeing Lin Mo not shouting for them to come in, she shamelessly said, "Lin Mo, look, there's a large group of us here, and it's not nice to stand at the door and talk to you. Let's go inside and talk slowly."

Lin Mo almost rolled his eyes. He had never seen such a shameless person.

He opened the door a little, stood aside, and said in a flat tone, "Come in."

The way Old Lady Lin walked in really didn't look like an old lady in her seventies or eighties. She slipped in first, as if she was bringing people to visit her home, and shouted loudly to introduce the furnishings in the house.

Lin Mo closed the door and glanced at the man following behind Old Lady Lin. He couldn't say he hated him, nor did he like him either.

Su Mu stood aside and watched, then turned around to look at Lin Mo who was slowly walking towards him, only to see Lin Mo shaking his head slightly. Su Mu understood what he meant, which was that he was telling him not to worry about anything and just watch.

Su Mu didn't want to cause trouble for Lin Mo, so he just followed quietly behind Old Lady Lin and the others, watching the show.

Lin Mo led them to the hall, and without a word, Mrs. Lin rushed to the main family seat and sat down. She felt at ease sitting there, as if she was treating Lin Mo's house as her own.

A smug smile appeared on the old man's wrinkled face.

Lin Mo walked aside and asked them to sit down. He glanced at Old Mrs. Lin and gave a meaningful smile.

Before Lin Mo could speak, Old Lady Lin took the initiative and said, "Lin Mo, where is your eldest brother? Hurry up and call Lin Sheng out to see who's here."

Lin Mo didn't indulge her this time and sneered, "Mrs. Lin, you came to our house today, what's the matter? My eldest brother is very busy on weekdays, if you have anything to say, just tell me directly.

There's no need to bother my eldest brother to come out and meet irrelevant people."

These words choked Mrs. Lin. A hint of embarrassment appeared on her face, and she smiled at everyone present.

"Lin Mo, this is what's going on. This matter concerns the lifelong happiness of your elder brother, Lin Sheng. You can't possibly be interfering in your brother's future marriage. How can a younger generation make decisions for their elders? If this gets out, it'll be laughable."

Lin Mo said calmly, "My eldest brother's business is my business, so I have to keep a close eye on it. After all, it concerns important matters in the future."

Seeing that she couldn't convince Lin Mo, Mrs. Lin was at a loss for a moment and finally agreed to tell the truth about the marriage.

"Lin Mo, I have found someone for your elder brother. Look, this is Mr. Li from the town." As she said that, Old Lady Lin introduced the man she brought with her.

Lin Mo looked at the man from top to bottom, from left to right, from front to back, with the eyes of someone picking vegetables at the market, and he didn't even bother to take off his shoes to see if he had any foot odor.

The man was also stared at by Lin Mo, feeling a little embarrassed. He took two steps back and almost fell down. Fortunately, he reacted in time.

Lin Mo's face was sarcastic and his tone became a little frivolous.

"What's your name? What's your family business? How many people are there in your family? How old are you? Do you have a house? Do you have a carriage? Most importantly, do you have any savings?"

The man was completely bewildered. He didn't expect Lin Mo to check his household registration straight away without any hesitation.

The man swallowed, suddenly raised his head, straightened his chest, and spoke confidently.

"My surname is Li, and my given name is Li Biao. My family is small, and I am the eldest, with a younger brother and a younger sister.

Although we're not a wealthy family, we're still considered well-off in this town. Since your eldest brother married into my family, I naturally won't treat him unfairly.

"Okay, I'll have two in three years. I must have a son. My family's incense can't be cut off."

Before he could finish, Lin Mo no longer had the heart to listen and started to persuade the guests to come.

"That's not suitable. Please go back. The sows are for sale next door. They're not expensive, you should be able to afford them."

After Lin Mo finished speaking, his smiling face turned into a dark one in an instant, and he pointed directly in the direction of the door, with the intention of driving people away clearly.

Mrs. Lin did not give up and went up to help persuade: "Lin Mo, don't you see, where can you find such good conditions as Mr. Li, let alone a brother like Lin Sheng?

It's already great to find someone like this. Do you want to watch your elder brother die alone and spend his whole life with you guys?"

Lin Mo was furious and glared at Old Lady Lin fiercely. This frightened her so much that she had to shut her mouth.

"That's our Lin family's business, so we don't need to bother you old house people with it.

My elder brother Lin Sheng, he is not worthy of her! "

Lin Mo finished speaking and immediately spat. His eyes were extremely fierce, like a three-foot-high icy cellar, making people feel cold.

Li Biao was trembling all over, his eyes wide open, and he said, "You don't know what's good for you."

Old Mrs. Lin watched Li Biao being angered away by Lin Mo. She wanted to chase him and keep him, but she looked at Lin Mo beside her with some caution, and was in a dilemma.
