After scaring away the two people in the old house, Lin Sheng turned around and smiled gently at Lin Mo.
Lin Mo couldn't help but ask, "Brother, why are you so brave today? In the past, you never argued with those people in the old house, and you even tolerated them again and again. Why is that?"
Lin Sheng walked over slowly, picked up the petals one by one, put them in his palm, and then handed them to Lin Mo.
A clear and clean smile is like a spring breeze that blows through other people's hearts and leaves a fresh feeling.
He slowly said to Lin Mo: "Before, it was because you were still young, so you just had to endure it. Now you are all grown up, and it's different. I have my brother to support me, who should I be afraid of?"
Lin Mo was deeply moved, his mouth slightly open, wanting to speak but unable to. A layer of mist appeared in his eyes, his mouth turned into an upward arc, and his eyes were filled with starlight, twinkling continuously.
He was happy for Lin Sheng, and felt extremely lucky and happy to have such a brother.
Seeing that Lin Mo was about to cry, Lin Sheng quickly patted the leaves on his head and spoke with concern like an old mother.
"Silly child, now that you've grown up, don't cry like you did when you were little.
Our Ah Mo is a man who is going to get married. Don’t cry. If you want to cry in the future, don’t cry in front of me. Go to Su Mu and let your husband see that you are a little crybaby.
Lin Mo was so teased by Lin Sheng that he started smiling again, showing his big white teeth. The two of them stood under the tree, laughing heartily.
This scene was like when he was a child, Lin Mo was so hungry that he ran to the mountains to find some wild fruits to eat.
As a result, he didn't see anyone coming back for most of the day. Lin Sheng was waiting anxiously at home, so he went out and searched the whole village. Finally, near dusk, he heard a boy crying in the deep mountains.
Lin Sheng hurried up the mountain, fearing that the jackals, tigers and leopards would get there first.
Finally, Lin Sheng found Lin Mo sitting on the ground crying loudly on the weed-covered hillside. Lin Sheng walked closer and saw that Lin Mo's foot was bleeding from the fall.
His knee was scraped and bleeding. Lin Sheng tore off the few pieces of cloth on his body and bandaged it for Lin Mo.
Lin Sheng, already frail due to long-term malnutrition, carried the injured Lin Mo back home alone on the dark road, stumbling and bumping into others.
In the past, it was the eldest brother who raised them at home. Later, Lin Sheng's health was damaged and he could no longer do many heavy jobs. Because of his status as a young man, as he got older, it was not easy for him to show up every day and go out to find work.
On the one hand, his body did not allow him to do so, and on the other hand, it was for the sake of his younger brothers, so that they could live upright and honest lives in the future. He was afraid that his words and actions would affect his younger brothers' future lives, and he did not want them to be criticized by the villagers.
He had endured all of this, swallowing his anger for more than ten years, and now he could finally stop worrying about it. Now with Lin Mo, Lin Mo took on the burden of the Lin family himself.
Lin Sheng was very relieved. He had spent most of his life planning for this family, but when it came to finally unloading the burden, he seemed to have never thought about himself.
He also didn't know how to consider his future because it was different from what he expected.
Lin Mo took advantage of this moment to ask tentatively: "Brother, have you really never thought about getting married?"
Lin Sheng lowered his eyes slightly, with more of a confused look in his eyes.
"I have no idea."
Hearing this answer, Lin Mo felt a little uncomfortable and distressed. If it weren't for them, his elder brother should have had his own family and love in his prime years.
Lin Mo asked again tentatively: "Brother, what do you think of Tang Le? Have you ever thought about living with him?"
Lin Sheng looked up at Lin Mo in surprise, then smiled slightly and said, "He's a very nice guy..."
Lin Mo waited for the next sentence, but he also heard the concerns in his elder brother's heart. Lin Mo couldn't help but ask in his heart, what exactly is his elder brother worried about?
On weekdays, Lin Mo watched the two of them getting along. Although Lin Sheng did not have any particularly obvious love for Tang Le, every time his two children came to Lin Sheng, the way Lin Sheng took care of them, it went without saying that they looked like a family of four.
Lin Mo also couldn't figure out what kind of feelings the two of them had for each other?
It started to drizzle, so Lin Sheng took Lin Mo and Su Mu back to the hall to take shelter from the rain. Su Yunxia cut some fresh fruits and served them to everyone.
Lin Mo watched the three of them happily eating fruit, but he was still puzzled and didn't have much appetite to eat.
The drizzle outside continued to fall, and those working in the fields rushed to take shelter. On the hill behind, Tang Le finished his work in the fields and wanted to hunt a rabbit to feed his two children. However, he was trapped on the hill by the rain, unable to go up or down.
After the rain subsided, Tang Le worked hard for a while and finally caught a wild rabbit that had just returned to its nest. With the bow and arrow in hand, he took down the rabbit on the spot with quick, fierce and accurate movements.
He happily grabbed the rabbit's feet, picked up the remaining arrows on the ground, and strode happily towards his home at the foot of the mountain.
As they were eating fruit, Lin Mo suddenly stood up, grabbed an oil-paper umbrella, and walked out. He said nothing, his steps hurried.
Lin Sheng and the others couldn't help but glance in the direction where Lin Mo was going.
Su Yunxia asked curiously, "It's raining, where is Lin Mo going?"
Su Mu didn't say anything and quietly peeled the apple. It seemed that he never questioned what Lin Mo did. In his heart, he felt that Lin Mo always had his reasons for doing so.
Lin Sheng lowered his eyebrows and continued to eat the fruit quietly, but he already knew what Lin Mo was going to do.
The mountain road was muddy and difficult to walk on. Even Tang Le, who often went up the mountain, found the road difficult to walk on. He frowned and finally got down to the foot of the mountain.
He was soaked through by the rain, but that couldn't stop him from feeling happy. As he walked, getting closer and closer to home, a vague figure appeared in his sight.
The man was holding an umbrella and standing outside the fenced yard in front of his house. He stood straight and looked like a god who was not of this world. His gorgeous clothes were out of place with the dilapidated mud brick house.
Tang Le couldn't help but quicken his pace. When he got closer, he saw that it was Lin Mo!
I don’t know how long Lin Mo stood here waiting with an umbrella, but half of his clothes were already wet.
Tang Le wiped the rain off his face and shouted at Lin Mo, "Lin Mo, why are you here? The rain is getting heavier. Come inside quickly."
