Chapter 205 Missed (Part 2)

Han Zhi gritted his teeth and tried to stand up from the bed, but his body was too weak to support the weight of his whole body. He fell down again. When it didn't work the first time, he tried again until cold sweat began to appear on his forehead again.

Ming Fan couldn't help but get angry and yelled at him: "Can't you take care of your own body?"

Ming Fan did not go forward to help him this time. He watched him fall again and again, get up from the bed again and again, and finally fall heavily on the floor. The bloodstain on the knee bandage became deeper and looked brighter red.

Han Zhi's eyes turned red from the pain. He crawled on the ground and struggled to sit up straight. After a while, the hoarse voice with a hint of tenacity sounded again.

"I have an appointment to go to, and I'm afraid if I'm late he won't be able to find me."

Mingfan was stunned for a moment, then put away his temper and went forward to support him.

Han Zhi grabbed his arm and said, "Help me get that suit."

Seeing the tenacity in his eyes, Ming Fan quickly brought the clothes without saying a word.

"Where are you going? I'll bring a few more people to take you there."

Several servants carried Han Zhi onto the carriage, Ming Fan followed beside him, and the carriage set off in a grand manner.

Along the way, everyone in the car was very quiet, even Mingfan outside the car didn't say a word. In about ten minutes, they arrived at the pickled fish shop.

Mingfan helped Han Zhi get out of the car, and several followers followed suit.

The door of the pickled fish shop was closed, with a notice posted on it saying that the owner was expecting a baby, but the opening date was not specified.

There was a hint of loss in Han Zhi's eyes, and he silently let them help him back to the carriage.

The carriage stayed at the door for a while. Han Zhi looked through the window with reluctance in his eyes. Finally, he lowered the curtain and ordered them to continue driving on the road.

The two wheels were rolling, and Lin Sheng was looking forward to it with joy, but Han Zhi could not hide his disappointment, and his face, as pale as death, looked even more bleak.

The carriage finally stopped by the river. This was where he and Lin Sheng had first met. He thought that since Lin Sheng was not in the shop, he would come here to look for him.

Han Zhi asked the coachman to park the carriage on the side, and he sat in the carriage, occasionally sticking his head out to look.

There were people coming and going on the street, but there was no sign of that familiar figure, so Han Zhi decided to wait here.

The official road to the town was not easy to travel on. Lin Mo and his group's legs were numb from sitting all the way, so they decided to stop and rest.

Lin Sheng brought some dry food from home and shared it among the few people to replenish their energy. Especially the two people driving the car needed to eat more.

The closer they got to the town, the happier Lin Sheng felt. He had already thought about what he would say to Han Zhi when he saw him.

This time when leaving home, Lin Sheng specially prepared some clothes, thinking that the autumn nights would be cold, so he bought him some warm clothes.

Night was approaching, but Han Zhi still hadn't waited for that figure to arrive. He stared out the window at the few pedestrians around, unable to hide his disappointment.

"Sir, it's almost dark, your friend probably won't be here."

Mingfan was a little worried about Han Zhi's health. He hadn't eaten since he woke up at noon, and he was still weak. Mingfan wanted to persuade him to go back.

"Wait a little longer."

Han Zhi said lightly, as if he still wanted to give himself hope, but the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment.

After several hours of trekking, Lin Sheng and his group finally arrived in town. The carriage stopped steadily in front of the shop. Lao Gu was the first to get off and tear down the notice.

He smiled innocently and said, "The shop can be opened again tomorrow, and there will be a lot of work to do."

Lin Mo and Su Mu smiled at each other. He and Su Mu had not been home for a long time. They wanted to have a good rest tonight and open the shop early tomorrow morning.

When Lin Mo turned around, he noticed that Lin Sheng was missing. He hurriedly looked around and saw Lin Sheng running towards the street with a package in his arms.

Lin Mo couldn't help but call out to him: "Brother, it's getting dark, where are you going?"

Lin Sheng replied from a distance: "Don't wait for me, you guys eat first, I'll be back soon."

Watching Lin Sheng's back gradually walking away, Lin Mo knew that he must have gone to find his savior. So let it be. It was rare that the elder brother cared about someone.

Finally, Lin Mo showed a meaningful smile, took Su Mu back to the shop, and started to prepare dinner for tonight.

The sun gradually set, leaving a little light in the sky. Most of the sky was already gray, and lights were turned on in the houses along the street.

Han Zhi stared out the window. There were few people on the street at that moment. He closed the curtains with a look of disappointment and said calmly, "Let's go back."

The driver waved his whip, the horse started to move slowly, and the wheels turned in circles, slowly moving away from that place.

On the road, a figure holding a package in his arms was walking hurriedly and passing by the carriage quickly.

Lin Sheng ran until he was sweating profusely and finally stopped at the river. He was looking around in surprise, looking for that person.

Han Zhi felt a little anxious and opened the curtains to get some fresh air, but there was no one on the road outside the window. He still hadn't waited for Lin Sheng, and his heart and eyes were filled with loneliness.

The carriage sped up and drove farther and farther away, and the lonely figure behind it, who was looking around by the river, was left far away.

At night, Lin Sheng held the package in his arms, walking slowly on the deserted street.

He waited by the river for an hour, but Han Zhi didn't show up, so he walked back dejectedly.

Back in the shop, he didn't say a word the whole time. Lin Mo wanted to call him to eat, but he seemed not to hear him and looked a little lost.

He went upstairs carrying the package. The door was locked. He squatted on the ground holding the clothes, not saying a word.

After a long while, she finally figured it out and came down to eat. Lin Mo and Su Mu were still worried for a while, but when they saw that their eldest brother was fine, they finally put their worries to rest.

Seeing Lin Sheng sitting alone in the hall eating, Lin Mo stood at the counter and watched silently, not wanting to go over and disturb him now.

When Han Zhi returned home, the servants brought food to his room. He had no appetite and couldn't eat. Finally, it was Mrs. Han who persuaded him to eat a bowl of soup.

Mingfan squatted down and changed the medicine on his knee. After feeding him the Chinese medicine, Mingfan also withdrew.

He was the only one left in the room. He stared at the clothes in a daze, thinking about going to the river tomorrow and waiting. Maybe it was just a coincidence that he was not there today.

Looking at the clothes, Han Zhi's face showed a faint trace of blood color, but the dizziness that followed made him unable to open his eyes again.

Until everything went black and he lost consciousness, he fell heavily to the ground and never got up again.
