After one night, the yard was covered with a thick layer of snow.
Lin Mo held the two older ones and rolled around in the snow, while Su Mu sat on the side with the younger one and watched.
Several people started making snowmen. Lin Mo helped the two children and rolled a big snowball for them, which was taller than the two little guys.
Then he rolled a smaller snowball and placed it on top of the big snowball.
At this time, Su Mu got a few branches from somewhere and threw them to Lin Mo. He pressed the branches on both sides of the snowman to make arms.
I also took two potatoes and placed them on the snowman's face to serve as eyes. Finally, I took a head of garlic from the kitchen, broke it into small cloves, and arranged them neatly.
A bucktoothed snowman is completed.
Lin Wu had just come out of the house and was frightened by such an ugly thing.
"Third brother, what is this thing? It looks... hard to describe."
Lin Mo walked over, put his arm around Lin Wu's shoulder, brought him to the snowman, and introduced his masterpiece to him.
"This is a work I spent the whole morning working on. Looks pretty impressive, doesn't it? I named it Snow King. Pretty impressive, isn't it?"
"Uh, this... I beg to differ."
Lin Wu hesitated for a long time before finally saying it.
After seeing Lin Wu walk away with a confused look on his face, Lin Mo approached the two children and said childishly, "Ai Su Ai Mu, isn't the snowman Daddy made super beautiful? Your uncle doesn't know how to appreciate it, so why don't we appreciate it ourselves?"
"good."
The two children responded in unison and threw themselves happily into their father's arms.
Su Yunxia's family and Lin Sheng's family returned to town soon after the Lantern Festival. Lin Wu also left Maolin Village two days later and returned to Suzhou and Hangzhou to do business.
Only Lin Mo's family remained in the village, and they stayed there for more than two months, until the spring snow melted and new buds grew on the branches.
Lin Mo and Su Mu took their three children to the fish pond to catch fish again.
Each of the little guys carried a small scoop net, while Lin Mo had a bamboo pole and a bucket of small earthworms. Su Mu had nothing in his hands, as all the tools were carried by Lin Mo.
After walking along a winding path and wading through a shallow stream, they finally reached the fish pond in the valley.
The fish pond is not big. It was built by Lin Mo specifically for his family. He put crucian carp, Anhui fish and clams in it.
The water in the fish pond is not very deep. It is only one meter deep because it was dug artificially. The water in the pond is clear and you can see the bottom. From time to time, you can see fish swimming in the water.
Lin Mo rolled up his trouser legs and went down to the fish pond. He fumbled in the mud at the bottom of the pond and dug out a few clam shells that were bigger than his palm. He threw them onto the shore for the little ones to play with.
Su Mu drew a bucket of clean water from a small stream that was only half a meter wide, put a few clam shells in it, and let the children watch and play with them.
Lin Mo then took out the fishing line, tied it to the top of the bamboo pole, tied a fish hook to the other end of the silk line, and then hung an earthworm on it. He threw the bait into the pond and waited quietly for the fish to take the bait.
Su Mu made a shushing gesture in front of the children. The three little ones immediately lowered their voices and stared at the float on the water. They didn't dare to breathe, and held their breath in concentration, waiting for their father's surprise.
Sure enough, after a while, the fish bit the hook, and there was a lot of movement from the rod in Lin Mo's hand. He quickly lifted the rod, and a five-jin Wan fish floated to the surface, struggling in the air with its tail wagging.
Su Mu took a small net to catch the fish. Lin Mo quickly unhooked the fish's mouth and put the fish into a bucket filled with water.
The little ones then dared to cheer loudly and quickly gathered around the bucket to look at the big fish.
Yue'er was still young and only dared to follow her two older brothers and sisters and watch secretly. Aisu and Aimu were bolder and directly reached into the bucket to touch the fish.
"Yuyu, daddy caught a big fish. We are going to eat fish tonight." Ai Mu's childish voice sounded.
Afterwards, Lin Mo caught a few more small fish. The fish bodies were silvery white in color. They were small crucian carp, just the size of a palm.
Su Mu thought that he could make some crucian carp and tofu soup when he got home tonight. First, fry the fish until golden brown, then put it in the soup and boil it with the tofu cubes. When it comes out of the oven, sprinkle some chopped green onions on it. It tastes delicious.
Lin Mo's family packed up and went home in the evening. In the evening, they prepared a fish feast, including fish soup, steamed fish, sweet and sour fish, chopped pepper fish head, etc., both spicy and non-spicy.
After the children had eaten and drunk their fill, they played in the yard for a while, and then Su Mu took the three of them to take a bath.
There was a big wooden tub that was just big enough for the three little ones to stand in. Su Mu took turns washing their hair, faces and bodies. The group of children were splashing water and playing in the tub, having a lot of fun.
Su Mu finally finished washing the three noisy babies, and he himself was soaked all over.
Lin Mo went back to the room first to coax the three children to sleep, while Su Mu boiled some water in the kitchen.
I took them out to play today, and they were very tired. They soon fell asleep. Lin Mo tiptoed out of the house.
He turned around to see if Su Mu had boiled the water. He considerately prepared some clothes for both of them to change into. Su Mu's water had also boiled, so Lin Mo helped carry the water to the bathing room.
The big wooden barrel was filled with water, and Lin Mo sprinkled some of Su Mu's favorite flower petals on it. When everything was ready, Su Mu followed in.
