Chapter 29 Departure to the County

Lin Mo nodded. He could feel Su Mu's discomfort. Su Mu grew up in Linjia Village and might never have been to the county. Just as he was about to reach out and hold Su Mu's hand, he saw the village chief's clear and stupid eyes falling on his hand without any hesitation.

"Ahem... Um, Saburo... On this street..."

Su Mu suddenly put his hand away, his face flushed red as he took two steps away from Lin Mo.

Looking at his empty hand, Lin Mo withdrew it angrily and awkwardly guided the village chief into the store.

Under the enthusiastic call of the waiter, the three were led into an empty seat in the restaurant and sat down. They ordered several signature dishes, such as stewed whole chicken, braised duck, stir-fried pork, stir-fried assorted vegetables, etc. At the end, Lin Mo ordered a cup of rice wine for the village chief.

"Sanlang, isn't this too much? These signature dishes are not cheap, and there are only three of us, so we can't eat that much."

The village chief was a little worried. He liked to drink, but he had trouble drinking several times a year. Add to that the dishes, chicken and duck, and he didn't know how much the meal would cost.

Lin Mo smiled warmly and said slowly, "Don't worry, uncle. I have a plan in mind. You don't have to worry about the money. I made a lot of money from my business trip this time. I can still afford to treat you to a meal."

The village chief pursed his lips and said unhappily, "I'm not worried that you can't pay for this meal. I'm worried that you'll be unsuccessful and squander the money you earn. The three of us can easily get enough to eat a bowl of wonton on the street."

"How could that be possible! I've made you follow me around for so many days, and now you only want to eat a bowl of wontons. How can I feel good about it? Uncle, just enjoy your meal."

The village chief looked at Lin Mo with satisfaction, feeling a little relieved. "As long as you have the rules, it's fine. This is the first time for my uncle to eat in a restaurant in the county. Today, I am grateful to Sanlang for his help."

He was actually looking forward to the meal. Just hearing the name made his mouth water. This fried chicken, duck and meat with wine was probably the best meal he had ever had in his life.
