Chapter 197: Eat when you are hungry

next day

Early in the morning, when the sky was hazy, a shop owner who was preparing to open a shop to do business just opened the door and found a person lying at the door of his shop. He didn't know whether he was dead or alive.

He shouted loudly: "Old woman, come out and take a look, there is someone lying here."

The old lady responded impatiently: "What are you yelling about so early in the morning? He's not dead, why are you yelling here?"

The old lady was not forgiving with her words. She walked to the door reluctantly and actually saw a person lying at the door. It turned out to be a beggar. She kicked the person with disgust. Seeing that the person did not react, the old lady felt a little panicked.

She said in a panic: "Could it be that someone is really dead?"

The old couple thought to themselves that they had lived here peacefully and had been doing business for so many years, but now someone had fallen ill for no apparent reason. If this got out, they would probably have no business left.

Just when the old couple was about to kneel down and cry out, a strange man, soaked all over, holding an oil-paper umbrella in his hand, walked over.

His face was haggard, and it looked like he hadn't slept a wink all night. He recognized the man lying on the ground. It was the young man he had been searching for for over half a month.

With a snap, the oil-paper umbrella fell to the ground.

Ming Fan rushed over and quickly helped Han Zhi up. As soon as he touched him, he felt a chill all over his body. Ming Fan immediately sensed something was wrong. He called for help from nearby, and together they carried Han Zhi back.

In the large room, Han Zhi lay on the soft bed, his face pale, his lips purple, his body alternating between hot and cold, his body covered in bouts of cold sweat. A doctor diagnosed him with a cold.

Mr. Han looked at the situation with both distress and anxiety, and asked the doctor urgently: "Doctor, how is my son?"

The old doctor sighed and said earnestly, "Your Excellency has caught a cold. He's been starving, underfed, and soaked in rain all night. The cold has entered his system. I'll prescribe some medicine to slowly heal him."

Old Madam Han was secretly wiping her tears. She really couldn't bear to see her son suffer, but she was powerless. In this family, it was Master Han who was the head of the family, and she never had a say.

After sending the doctor away, Master Han said, "Seal the windows, lock the gate, have shifts guarding the place 24 hours a day, and put nails on the walls of the courtyard.

I won't let him run away again. Mingfan, you have to keep a close eye on him until he recovers."

Ming Fan lowered his head and replied after a moment, "Yes, Ming Fan will definitely take good care of you, Master. Please rest assured, Master."

In the village, a ray of bright sunshine rises, and the farmers' daily livelihood begins in the morning.

Lin Wu and Fu Yanzhi carried a basket of wedding cakes and candies and delivered them to the villagers door to door. If they were not at home, they would leave them at their doorsteps. When they arrived at the door of the Lin family's old house, Lin Wu hesitated for a while, but still went in.

Old Mrs. Lin was so enthusiastic that she wanted to curry favor with him immediately.

Lin Wu dodged and avoided, not letting the Lin family members touch the corner of his clothes.

Putting down the wedding cake, he said seriously, "My second brother will not make things difficult for your future livelihood because our two families still have some blood relationship. But if you continue to cause trouble, my second brother said that the Su family will be your fate in the future."

After hearing what Lin Wu said, the old Lin family finally realized that it was Lin Mo who was behind the Su family's actions. They didn't know whether the Su family was alive or dead, but they felt a chill in their hearts. They didn't dare to breathe and nodded continuously.

Then, Lin Wu said, "In three days, my second brother will be getting married. You guys should come and help with the work and entertain the guests. If you don't come, or if you are making trouble behind the scenes, please think more about the Su family."

Everyone in the old house agreed obediently, fearing that if they refused, Lin Mo would retaliate. Even if they had the courage, they would not dare to go against the current Lin Mo, for fear of ending up badly.

After walking out of the old house, Lin Wu felt that he could finally breathe a sigh of relief. It was so uncomfortable inside that he didn't want to stay there for even a minute longer.

After walking around the village several times, the cookies were finally distributed and the invitations were sent out. Everyone who needed to be invited and who needed to be called for help was instructed.

Now that the two of them have completed the task assigned by Lin Mo, they can go back to help set up the venue.

Su Mu and Su Yunxia were cutting paper in the yard, preparing to stick it on the windows as decoration. After they finished cutting a pair of large wedding characters, Su Mu was facing the window, fiddling with the size to see if it would fit.

Lin Mo took out the new clothes he had prepared earlier, one set for each person, and placed them in the room.

Lu A'mo and Lao Gu were studying the dishes, adjusting them one by one according to the menu given by Lin Mo. Because he had never cooked these novel dishes before and was just learning, he had to be rigorous and do it well.

Tuanzi and Lin Wen were playing butterfly catching in the yard. Lin Wen was still shouting, "Catch butterflies. I want to catch lots of butterflies and give them to Amo for his wedding."

Lin Wu and Fu Yanzhi also returned, and together with Lin Mo, the three of them went to the mountain to cut trees. Halfway through, they called Tang Jie and Tang Le to help, thinking that one more person would mean more strength and faster progress.

They worked all morning on the mountain, catching up for lunch, and finally returned in the afternoon with two carts of wood. Some of the thin branches were used for cooking, while the larger, straighter ones were used for setting up the site.

After returning home, Tang Le looked around for Lin Sheng before he even had a sip of water.

Lin Mo told him that Lin Sheng had drunk some wine last night and probably still wasn't fully awake.

Tang Le couldn't help but feel a little worried, but luckily, his worries soon disappeared when he saw Lin Sheng. Instead, he was filled with the joy of seeing his beloved.

Lin Sheng came out with a smile on his face and greeted everyone good morning. Lin Wu had a few questions in his mind and muttered, "Isn't it afternoon now? Is Big Brother sleepy, or is he still drunk from last night?"

Fu Yanzhi smiled and did not answer.

Su Mu said with concern: "Brother, get up. The kitchen has left some food for you. Remember to eat it."

"Yeah." Lin Sheng nodded with a smile, then his eyes fell on Tang Le, who smiled at him politely.

Tang Le's face turned red immediately, and he turned his head away shyly, not daring to look directly at Lin Sheng.

Lin Mo took a few of their strong men to saw wood and peel bark outside the door until sunset.

Tonight, Aunt Lu prepared a lot of dishes for everyone, more than a dozen kinds of cuisine, sweet, sour, spicy, fried, stewed, stir-fried, everything. The presentation was dazzling to look at, comparable to the food in a wealthy family.

Tang Jie and Tang Le were both amazed. They had never eaten such luxurious meals in their lives. In their eyes, this should be similar to the ones in the palace.
