Chapter 145 Starved to death

"Why are you suddenly feeling unwell? Do you need to see a doctor?"

Su Yunyan put the plate she was holding on the table, walked over and took Xu Jiao'er's hand with a concerned look: "Why is it so cold?"

Xu Jiao'er subconsciously looked at Mu Anjin, only to see that he still had a dark expression. Xu Jiao'er took a deep breath, as if she had made a huge decision: "I'm fine, I just suddenly have a stomachache and want to go back to rest."

After saying that, he was about to leave.

Su Yunyan called out to her, "Wait a minute, take this with you."

As he spoke, he wrapped all the pastries on the plate in a handkerchief and stuffed them into Xu Jiao'er's sleeve.

"Eat it when your stomach doesn't hurt anymore."

"good."

Xu Jiao'er looked at her with a smile, then was suddenly pulled away by Mu Anjin.

"Your Highness, please take care!"

Su Yunyan frowned as she watched his rough actions, but given her current status, there was nothing she could do to help.

Inside the carriage.

Xu Jiao'er tightly protected the pastries in her arms, as if she was afraid that Mu Anjin would snatch them away from her.

"Why don't you do as I command?"

Mu Anjin suddenly raised his hand and slapped Xu Xu Jiao'er across the face.

"You bitch!"

A burning pain shot through her face, and her ears were filled with his curses. Xu Jiao'er didn't utter a sound, still tightly protecting the pastries in her arms.

Mu Anjin's temper flared even more.

"You worthless thing, all you do is eat, you're worse than a pig. If I hadn't been powerless and weak back then, how could I have let a useless wretch like you become my queen?"

After saying that, he raised his hand and slapped her again.

Xu Jiao'er's face swelled up from the slap he gave her.

She dared not make a sound, much less cry. If she cried, he would beat her even more fiercely. When she first married him, she knew he didn't like being disturbed and was very weak, as if anyone could bully him. But she didn't know when it started, his temper grew worse and worse, and he began to punch and kick her, complaining about how dissatisfied she was with the marriage.

Xu Jiao'er dared not utter the words "divorce." Divorce meant that she would become someone no one wanted, and she would never be able to hold her head high again. When she returned home, she would only be criticized and gossiped about.

The carriage quickly arrived at the entrance of the Prince's Mansion. Mu Anjin got out of the carriage quickly, seemingly not wanting to stay with Xu Jiao'er for even a second longer.

As Xu Jiao'er alighted from the carriage, one of the pastries in her arms accidentally fell out, and Mu Anjin immediately stepped on it, crushing it. Seeing his action, Xu Jiao'er's eyes finally welled up with anger, in addition to fear.

"Your Highness!"

She called out, twice as loud as usual.

Mu Anjin looked at her and actually laughed out loud: "What? Are you angry? What right do you have to be angry? What right do you have to be angry with me? Huh? Even if you are angry, so what? You still have to endure it."

As he spoke, he stomped the pastry down hard, and the pastry instantly became one with the soil.

“Lock the princess in her room and do not give her anything to eat without permission until she comes to her senses.”

With a bang, the door slammed shut, and Xu Jiao'er was thrown to the ground like a rag doll. She cried out in pain as the door closed instantly.

She looked around and realized it was still her room, but apart from a bed, there was nothing there—no water, no food. Mu Anjin meant that if she didn't do as he said, he would starve her to death!

Xu Jiao'er looked at the three pieces of pastry in her arms and sobbed.
