The noise outside gradually subsided.
Yan Mufeng sheathed his knife, walked over, and knocked on the door: "Sisters, everyone's gone. It's all alright now. Thanks to... uh, Young Master Mu."
She recognized him as the former crown prince, but given the current situation and his identity, she really didn't know how to address him.
Mu Anheng opened his mouth but didn't say anything; he simply bowed in greeting.
Then he stood at the door and said, "Miss Su, I will stay near the shop, so you can rest assured."
After saying that, he picked up his coat, which was soaked with swill from the ground, and turned to leave.
Su Yunyan pushed open the door and watched his departing figure, then called out, "Thank you!"
Inside the room, several people had solemn expressions.
"It seems there will never be peaceful days again," Su Yunyan sighed.
Honeysuckle frowned: "The shop has just started to do well. If customers are suddenly splashed with swill while choosing embroidery, they probably will never come back."
Lanxi chimed in, "That's exactly what we're talking about. It seems that bringing down Mu Anyu is urgent. If he gets away with it, we're in for a rough time."
Honeysuckle stood up: "Tomorrow I'll go and investigate the shops he owns."
At this point, An Ning suddenly remembered: "By the way, what happened to Mu Anheng?"
If he hadn't led a group of beggars out recklessly and uncontrollably today, who knows how far those masked men would have gone.
Su Yunyan shook her head: "I don't know, it's probably to repay someone."
Lanxi looked at her and said earnestly, "Yunyan, it's a good thing that he can help us, but no matter what, you can't have any emotional entanglement with him anymore. You know best what he was like before. Now that you've gotten out of that pit of fire, you can't fall into it again."
Su Yunyan looked up at Lan Xi: "Don't worry, I won't make the same mistake twice. I will no longer have any romantic fantasies about Mu Anheng."
Seeing that she said that, the group felt relieved.
"Knock knock knock!"
There were three knocks on the door.
Su Yunyan replied, "Sorry, we're closed for today."
The person outside the door did not leave, and said, "Take Xiao Ning back to the manor."
Hearing that familiar voice, An Ning realized that it was Mu Ange outside the door.
An Ning looked at them and said softly, "Then I'll go first."
Honeysuckle held her hand: "Be careful when you return to the palace, and take care of yourself."
An Ning nodded: "Don't worry."
Inside the carriage, Mu Ange sat upright, his eyes fixed straight ahead.
An Ning rubbed her hair, sniffed, and smelled a bloody odor.
She looked at Mu Ange anxiously: "Are you injured?"
Mu Ange swayed slightly: "Someone saw my face earlier and got it treated. The injury isn't serious."
An Ning opened her mouth, but only managed to utter one sentence: "Take good care of your injuries."
She really didn't know what to say, especially after he confessed his feelings earlier.
They soon arrived at the gate of the mansion.
An Ning then realized that he hadn't sent her back to the palace but had gone back to his residence first. She jumped off her horse and steadied herself.
Mu Ange extended a hand and said, "Help me up."
Chen Xun quickly stepped forward, but was scared away by a sharp look from Mu Ange.
Immediately afterwards, Mu Ange's displeased voice appeared in An Ning's mind: "Do I need you? I want Xiao Ning to help me."
An Ning rubbed her temples and took a step forward: "I'll help you."
Mu Ange's downturned lips unconsciously curled up: "Okay."
Chen Xun felt extremely embarrassed watching his prince leaning against Xiao Ningzi: When did the prince become so weak and unable to take care of himself?
