Chapter 39 This king already has someone in his heart.

Snap!

A piece of paper was suddenly thrown at An Ning's face, on which was written a contract of servitude!

An Ning stared wide-eyed, utterly bewildered: When did I ever sign something like this?

Mu Ange lowered her eyes as if in thought, then looked up after a moment and said, "I will redeem her."

An Ning was even more shocked! Her eyes were fixed on his back: No way, no way, is this going to start my romance story? Is he the kind who's handsome and rich? Never mind, as long as it's not Mu An Ge, anything is fine.

Xi Ren walked gracefully to An Ning's side and pulled her into her arms: "What a coincidence, she is priceless."

Mu Ange stood up and reached out to grab Anning's wrist. Xiren chuckled, then suddenly stepped back, staring at Mu Ange. She opened her mouth but no sound came out: "Identity!"

Mu Ange's outstretched hand suddenly stopped, her crimson eyes letting Xiren lead her away: Identity! How could she possibly know about this identity of unbridled debauchery? That was the reason she was wearing a mask just now.

Returning to the tranquility of the palace, my heart remained restless for a long time.

She went on this trip and unexpectedly had a romantic encounter.

The man's silhouette, his gaze, his powerful hands—these images replayed in my mind again and again.

"Who are you to have me so infatuated!" An Ning hugged her pillow and rolled from one end of the bed to the other, unable to fall asleep.

Just as the sky was about to turn a pale white, Mu Ange put down her pen with a click.

On the flat sheet of Xuan paper, there is a woman with a hazy figure. Although her face is not clearly visible, it is still clear that she is no ordinary person.

"Chen Xun".

"exist."

"Investigate her identity."

"yes."

Chen Xun raised an eyebrow: That's it? Are you expecting me to go looking for someone with such a blurry painting?

Mu Ange stared at the painting for a long time, then sighed, "She is in Yichun Garden."

Chen Xun finally breathed a sigh of relief: "Yes."

That evening, a momentous event occurred in the imperial court: Zhang Taifu of the Hanlin Academy was dismissed from his post.

The news shocked the court and the public. Zhang Taifu was the emperor's teacher when he was young. He had been assisting the emperor since he was a child. Such friendship was incomparable to that of others. How could he be dismissed so easily and dealt with so swiftly?

Mu Ange had doubts in his heart. He heard that this matter was discussed in secret at Yangju Hall. The emperor dismissed everyone except Eunuch Wu and a young eunuch named Xiao Ningzi.

That night, Mu Ange sneaked into Anning's room.

"Third Master, you've gone too far!"

Inside the small house, Mu Ange sat on the edge of Anning's bed as if no one else was there, staring intently at her.

"Given the circumstances, I must find out about Grand Tutor Zhang's situation as soon as possible."

An Ning pulled the blanket tighter around herself, her brows furrowing: "Get up first. What's the point of sitting on my bed?"

Mu Ange raised an eyebrow: "What's there to be ashamed of, you're just a eunuch?"

Upon hearing this, An Ning couldn't help but think of the man from yesterday. Although he had barged into the house, he hadn't done anything inappropriate to her, unlike this lecherous man who had entered her room in the middle of the night and even gotten into her bed.

Seeing that An Ning's eyebrows were about to rise, Mu Ange had no choice but to stand up: "Alright, alright, now you can talk, right?"

An Ning rubbed her slightly dazed head, trying hard to recall the conversation between the emperor and the old man that morning.

"That old man cheated on the imperial examinations and it seems he was colluding with a prince, but the emperor couldn't find out who he was colluding with."

Mu Ange rolled her eyes: "Do we even need to investigate? We could guess it's the Crown Prince with our eyes closed."

An Ning shook her head: "No, the old man himself didn't know who gave him the money. It was just that the amount was too large, and he couldn't resist the temptation."

"Didn't the emperor investigate?"

"Under investigation."

An Ning suddenly grinned maliciously at Mu Ange: "How about we think of a way to frame the Crown Prince?"

Since we're going to take action against the Crown Prince anyway, who cares who's behind this? We can just pin it on the Crown Prince.

Mu Ange looked at An Ning and nodded: Great minds think alike.

In the dim candlelight, the two men's sinister faces were illuminated, making them look exactly like villains.

“Then we need to plan this carefully.” Mu Ange simply sat cross-legged on Anning’s bed: “Here’s what we’ll do: we’ll split into two groups. You go and whisper sweet nothings in the Emperor’s ear, and I’ll contact the spies around the Crown Prince.”

An Ning exclaimed, "Mind your place. Don't go to someone's bed so easily, especially a eunuch's bed."

Mu Ange was very confused: "What's wrong with that? Would I, the king, possibly take advantage of you?"

'I already have someone in my heart!' Mu Ange thought to himself with a touch of pride.

An Ning's gossipy eyes lit up instantly: He already has someone in his heart? Which unlucky guy is it? Hahaha, that's hilarious.

Mu Ange was still rambling on about the details of the plan, but An Ning couldn't hear a word he said. Her mind was filled with thoughts of the person Mu Ange had never met.

Mu Ange said, "The emperor is suspicious, so be careful what you say."

Anning thought to herself, 'Girl, don't be afraid, I will burn incense and pray for you every day.'

Mu Ange continued, "If the Crown Prince meets with you alone, you must not pay any attention to him."

Anning continued to think to herself, 'Girl, I will mourn for your tragic fate for a minute.'

Mu Ange wanted to say more, but saw Anning lower her head with a sorrowful expression.

"What are you doing?" he hissed.

An Ning glanced at him silently: "You don't understand, I'm doing good deeds for you."

Mu Ange rolled her eyes at her: "Thank you, but did you even hear what I was saying?"

An Ning looked completely bewildered: "Huh? What did you say?"

Mu Ange snorted coldly: "I have said what I needed to say. Good luck to you."

After saying that, he slammed the door shut and left.

Anning was lying on the bed in a starfish position when she suddenly saw a person lying on the roof.

"Ah!!! A ghost!"

An Ning sat up abruptly and scrambled to the door, only to hear Hei Feng say behind her, "I'm sorry."

An Ning's fair hand slid off the door and window, and she slumped to the ground, utterly dejected: "Big brother, do you have to be so scary?"

Hei Feng glanced at her and saw that her face was indeed deathly pale and her eyes were filled with fear.

He lowered his head and said again, "I'm sorry."

An Ning forced herself to sit up and asked in confusion, "Did you need something?"

Black Wind said calmly, "It's nothing."

An Ning frowned: "Then why are you lying on my roof?"

Black Wind looked completely innocent: "I'm here every night, aren't I?"

"ah??????"

An Ning exploded, almost shouting these words:

You were peeping at me while I was sleeping?

Black Wind remained unfazed: "Or, you could say, 'protect your safety.'"

“You…you are even more despicable than that Mu Ange, you…you are not allowed to come up on my roof.”

Black Wind said somewhat aggrievedly, "Yes."
