He couldn't stand the thought of a young girl living with a bunch of smelly, big men.
Noticing the shocked look in Jin Yinhua's eyes, he quickly said, "There are two rooms in the courtyard. Don't worry, I didn't mean anything by it, it's just..."
Honeysuckle looked at him with a smile and said, "Okay."
Xie Lin was afraid that she would think he had ulterior motives, and even more afraid that she would think he was a lecherous man who had let a girl live in his courtyard after only a few meetings. But all his worries and anxieties were soothed by this smile.

In Xie Lin's courtyard.
"I'll boil a bucket of water for you to wash yourself."
As he spoke, Xie Lin went into the yard to chop firewood.
By the dim candlelight in the house, Jin Yinhua looked through the window at the man chopping wood in the yard, and for a moment she couldn't take her eyes off him.
A robust back, a narrow waist wrapped around a soft sword, strong and powerful arms, and a large hand holding an axe, swinging it up and down – it was truly a sight to behold.
Under the moonlight, his face seemed even colder than during the day, but for some reason, Xiaohua could always feel a constant warmth emanating from him.
"That's enough."
Honeysuckle walked to his side, gently tugged at his sleeve, and placed the towel in her arms into his palm: "Wipe your sweat."
Xie Lin took the towel, wiped her face, and smelled the unique fragrance of a woman: "It's cold outside, let's go back, I'll go boil some water."
Honeysuckle shook her head: "I'm not cold, achoo... I'll stay with you."
Xie Lin smiled helplessly: "You still say you're not cold? You're already sneezing."
Honeysuckle pouted and said, "I have a pollen allergy, not from the cold."
Xie Lin glanced at the bare yard and chuckled: Even when lying, he's so cute!
Half an hour later, Honeysuckle took a comfortable hot bath. The last time she had such a comfortable bath was a long time ago. If it were her old personality, she definitely wouldn't have been able to stand it, but now she is not so fussy.
At midnight, Xiaohua was already fast asleep.
Xie Lin was meditating in the next room when he suddenly heard a noise in the courtyard.
He stood up abruptly, drew his soft sword from his waist, and assumed a defensive stance.
He instinctively felt that the person outside was extremely skilled in martial arts, and that he was no match for him. He just didn't know why he had come. Could it be to kill Miss Jin?
Thinking of this, he frowned, filled with worry. Just as he was about to push open the door and go out, the other person entered the house first.
The person was wearing a black cloak and a mask, making it impossible to identify them.
Who is it?
Xie Lin took a step back, raised his sword, and aimed it straight at the man's brow.
Mu Ange remained calm and did not retreat, confident that the sword would not harm him.
"Brother Xie, I've long admired you."
Mu Ange bowed with his hands clasped in extremely politeness, leaving Xie Lin completely baffled.
Not sensing any killing intent from him, Xie Lin's tense body relaxed slightly.
"You know me?"
"Brother Xie, is your master the instructor of the Helian Army?"
Xie Lin's expression changed, and a hint of red appeared in his eyes: "Who exactly are you?"
Mu Ange took out a tattered silver plaque from his pocket. It had a name written on it: Xie Huaichang, and below it in smaller characters: Helian Guojun.
Xie Lin's eyes widened, and he suddenly stepped forward to grab the silver medal. In an instant, his eyes turned red: "Grandpa's military badge?"
Mu Ange continued, "Since it belongs to the Xie family, then this plaque can be considered returned to its rightful owner."
Xie Lin carefully tucked the silver medal into his pocket, then looked up at Mu Ange again: "You are also a descendant of the Helian Kingdom?"
