Chapter 78: Outrageous Request
Yan Ye didn't think there was anything wrong with his words and repeated them without blinking.
"Please shave me a hair exactly the same as the one shaved off by the female comrade who got stitches yesterday." He emphasized the word "exactly the same".
Doctor Wang has been engaged in medical work for thirteen years and has heard of all kinds of strange requests, but he has never heard of such a request.
"We shaved her hair yesterday to suture her wound. Why did you shave her whole head? Are you kidding?" The man closed the medical record and replied unhappily.
Doctor Wang looked at the extraordinary temperament of the man in front of him and reluctantly explained that if someone else had made such an outrageous request to him, he would have been kicked out long ago.
Yan Ye stood there and said, "Just consider it as a favor to me. It's a small token of my appreciation." He took out a few tickets from his pocket and placed them on the desk.
Doctor Wang raised his head and looked at the man's serious expression, "No? Do you really want to shave?" He asked again and saw Yan Ye nodded without hesitation.
Doctor Wang stretched out his hand and moved the bill forward. "It's just a haircut, why would you give me this? Now that you've made up your mind, don't blame me after you're done."
Yan Ye brought in the meal and saw the nurse sitting next to him, letting Xu Xiaoyue curl up in the quilt. He frowned slightly.
"You can go back." He put down the meal and said in a light voice.
The caregiver was stunned. She was hired and her salary was paid on a daily basis. This man paid the most, so everyone was scrambling to get the job. She finally won the competition and was asked to go back after just one day.
"Mr. Yan, is there something I did wrong? I can change it..." The nurse wanted to explain a few more words but was interrupted by the man.
"Go now, and I'll pay you a day's wages." He said in a deep voice.
"Okay, then settle the bill for me now." The nurse pursed her lips. She thought these two were young people and there was not much work for her to do, so she could just fool around and get away with it.
But she only stayed for less than an hour before being asked to leave.
Xu Xiaoyue was not asleep. She heard the noise outside, but just cried silently under the quilt.
After dealing with the nurse, the man stepped forward and took down the quilt. He said helplessly, "I have told you many times, be careful not to get suffocated like this."
Xu Xiaoyue pulled the quilt with her hands to prevent anyone from pulling it, but she was no match for Yan Ye. After struggling for a while, the quilt was pulled off.
Yan Ye immediately noticed the pair of almond eyes that were swollen like walnuts. He paused and stopped pulling down.
Eyes that have just cried are easily dazzled by the light and cannot be opened.
He stood up and closed the curtains tightly. Fortunately, this was a single room and no one would care if he closed the curtains in broad daylight.
"Okay, why are you crying again? Eat something first." He coaxed her, pinching her tear-stained face lightly with his rough palm.
"I don't want to eat." Xu Xiaoyue said in a crying tone and turned her back to everyone.
Yan Ye held her shoulders, his face darkened, "Let's eat first."
I haven't had a meal since yesterday. I already have very little flesh on my body, and if I continue to starve I'm going to be malnourished.
Xu Xiaoyue couldn't hold back her tears, her chest heaving up and down, "Are you mean to me?"
"You bastard, if it wasn't for saving you, how could my head be split open? How dare you be so mean to me!"
She sobbed, lifted the quilt with her white fingers, and scratched Yan Ye.
The man sat there without moving and let her do whatever she wanted to him. He even lifted up his sleeves to allow Xu Xiaoyue to do it.
After tickling him a few times, Xu Xiaoyue realized what he meant and felt bored, so she turned her head and closed her eyes, refusing to communicate with him.
"Okay, you've vented enough, it's time to get up and eat." The man coaxed her gently. He turned around to reach for the food on the bedside table and adjusted the bed.
"Winter melon and pork ribs soup, stir-fried beef, and hawthorn pot cake."
As if reading out the names of dishes, they opened them one by one for Xu Xiaoyue to see. The aroma of food overflowed. Xu Xiaoyue sniffed it and realized she was indeed a little hungry after all the ups and downs.
Yan Ye gave her a way out, and Xu Xiaoyue stopped when she saw that he was still trying to feed her with the food, so she stepped back and took the food: "I'll eat it myself."
She only injured her head, not her arm, and she is not yet unable to take care of herself.
Before she put the food into her mouth, Xu Xiaoyue looked down again, a rare look of confusion appearing on her face.
She remembered that the food in the hospital didn't seem to be so delicious. Zheng Jiaojiao cut her wrists and was admitted to the hospital. She only ate porridge with vegetables, and occasionally there was meat, but it was minced meat.
However, the dishes the man prepared for her did not taste like the big pot meals at all, and the portions of spare ribs and steer were generous, enough for not only her but also two people.
Seeing Xu Xiaoyue pause, Yan Ye thought she was feeling burdened because she couldn't finish the food, so he said, "Eat as much as you can, and leave the rest for me."
"Then you will be eating my leftovers, right?" Xu Xiaoyue muttered softly. She felt a little uncomfortable and raised her head to look at the people.
"Go find an empty bowl and I'll give you the rice." There was at least three taels of rice in the bowl. She was not a pig, so how could she eat like that?
Since he was admitted to the hospital, Yan Ye's gloomy expression has eased a lot. "There are no empty bowls. Just eat first."
Since he said so, Xu Xiaoyue didn't hesitate and just buried her head in eating. She had suffered so much for this man, so what if she could eat something good first!
Before, she had been stubborn and said she didn’t want to eat, but now that she was eating the steaming hot food, she no longer said she wasn’t hungry. She grunted and finished half a bowl of it. After eating it until her stomach was full, her eyes closed in comfort.
"Okay, that's too much sex to eat at once."
Yan Ye took her bowl and stopped her from eating. It wasn’t that he felt sorry for the food, but she had just woken up and it wasn’t good for her health to eat so much in one breath.
Xu Xiaoyue was very satisfied with the meal and didn't bother with the man.
Even under the most difficult conditions in the army, Yan Ye would rather not eat than eat other people's leftovers. But this time, he didn't mind at all about Xu Xiaoyue's leftovers and finished them quickly with pleasure.
The man stood up and put away the dishes. "Lie here for a while. I'll wash the dishes and come back."
Xu Xiaoyue always had an illusion that he treated her like a child and had to tell her everything, but this feeling was not bad.
Yan Ye turned around and walked out of the ward.
Only then did Xu Xiaoyue notice that there was also a bald spot on the back of his head.
