The two were walking on the road, and Gu Chengze asked the reason.
Lin Jingshu told the story and roughly guessed the reason why the woman felt guilty.
Looking at the clothes he was wearing, not only were the sleeves covered in oil stains, but there were also several holes at the corners of his clothes. He didn't look like someone who was willing to spend money on a sleeper ticket.
When passing by the carriage, Lin Jingshu observed that the passengers in the hard sleeper carriage were dressed more elegantly.
Even the simple clothes were worn neatly, unlike that woman.
After returning to the carriage, Lin Jingshu first took a look at their luggage, which was still there.
Gu Chengze checked her out and found nothing serious.
I took out a can of chili oil from the package. It was made by Lin Jingshu.
Not only does it contain chili peppers, but it also contains peanuts and melon seeds. When it is made, the yard is filled with spicy aroma.
The meat buns I made myself are filled with plenty of ingredients, and they are full of meat when I take a bite. They are so delicious when paired with chili oil.
Perhaps the smell of food attracted the woman on the upper bunk. She climbed down, put on her shoes, and glanced at them.
I originally thought of not eating and waiting until I got there, but after being messed around by this young couple, I had to spend a few more dollars.
Seeing the woman go out, he left the child alone in the carriage without worry. He is really carefree.
But this was someone else's business, so she didn't say anything and just focused on eating.
Lin Jingshu was really tired today. Her appetite increased unusually and she only stopped after eating two big meat buns.
One of her legs was drooping over the edge of the bed, her back leaning against the blanket, and her whole body was slumped over the bed.
"Did you eat too much? Is your stomach uncomfortable?"
Gu Chengze sat on the edge of the bed, slowly rubbing her belly with his big hands.
His hands were warm and his technique was gentle, and Lin Jingshu felt so comfortable that she almost fell asleep.
"Aren't you afraid of being seen?"
People are still sensitive about issues between men and women. If two people walk hand in hand on the street, they will attract the attention of passers-by, not to mention their current close distance.
"Don't worry, I love my wife, why should I care about others?"
Lin Jingshu pursed her lips and couldn't help but let out a happy laugh.
In her opinion, Gu Chengze acted recklessly because he was not wearing a military uniform.
After a tiring day, Lin Jingshu's eyelids gradually became heavy, and soon, bursts of breathing sounds were heard.
Gu Chengze helped her take off her shoes, laid her down, and covered her stomach with his coat.
Only then did he prepare to return to his bed.
He just stood up and met the woman's gaze. Looking into his dark eyes, the woman lowered her head, hurriedly took off her shoes and climbed onto the bed.
Gu Chengze felt something was wrong, but then he thought he might be overthinking it.
He lay on the bed with his eyes closed and his arms behind his head, as if he was asleep.
The woman on the upper bunk heard no movement downstairs, so she cautiously stuck her head out and saw that he was asleep. Her heart, which had been in her throat, finally settled back into her stomach.
The man's eyes were so scary, like an eagle, staring at people so intently that people dared not look directly at him.
I hope the goods go safely this time.
The woman glanced at the child in the other bed, confirmed that he was not awake, closed her eyes tiredly, and fell down weakly.
She didn't notice that the person in the lower bunk quietly opened his eyes the moment she lay down.
The train was traveling through the wilderness. After the lights were turned off, the carriage was silent except for the sounds of the conductor and the police walking back and forth.
Accompanied by the clanging sound of wheels and rails, people, tired after a day's work, fell asleep early.
Suddenly, the sound of a child crying was heard in the carriage. Lin Jingshu frowned slightly, as if she was still wandering in a dream.
Gu Chengze sat up the moment he heard the sound. It was the child on the upper bunk who woke up.
"Excuse me, I'll just comfort him now."
The woman walked out with the child in her arms with an apologetic smile on her face.
Lin Jingshu opened her eyes dazedly, "What's wrong?"
Gu Chengze: "It's okay, go back to sleep."
After hearing what he said, Lin Jingshu fell back onto the bed.
Gu Chengze stood at the door of the carriage, looking at the woman's back, and saw that she seemed to be holding a kettle.
When the woman came back, the child was already asleep.
The next day, just after dawn, people were walking back and forth in the corridor.
Lin Jingshu slowly sat up, rubbed her eyes, stretched lazily, and looked at the farmland outside. She wondered where she was.
"Awake?" Gu Chengze had just come back from fetching water.
Lin Jingshu was still sleepy and asked, "Did any child cry last night?"
Gu Chengze nodded, "It's the upper bunk. Maybe he's not used to riding the train."
Lin Jingshu stood up and saw that the child was lying alone on the bed, and the other bed was empty.
"Huh?"
Perhaps understanding her doubts, Gu Chengze said, "The female comrade has gone out."
Lin Jingshu screamed, as if she felt something was wrong.
She leaned closer to Gu Chengze and whispered, "Don't you think this person is a little strange?"
What mother would be willing to leave her sleeping child here alone?
If it happens once, it might be a coincidence, but twice is not the right thing to do.
Gu Chengze looked at her with admiration, "I didn't expect my wife to have the talent to be a scout."
Lin Jingshu patted his shoulder and said, "Don't give me that."
She just didn't believe he hadn't noticed.
"Okay, enough talking. Go wash up first and I'll go check on you later."
When Lin Jingshu finished washing up and sat down to eat, the woman had not returned yet.
Gu Chengze nodded to her.
Lin Jingshu gave him a reassuring look, and then he walked away.
After finishing her meal and packing up her things, Lin Jingshu stood up and stretched her body.
It takes three days and two nights for this train to reach Guangzhou.
This is only the first day, there is still time to persevere.
Her eyes inadvertently passed over the child on the upper bunk and found that the child was facing away from her, hunched over, and trembling slightly.
