Chapter 114 Politeness

"Sis, how did you know I was dreaming? Did you overhear me say something I shouldn't have? Or was I sleepwalking? That's impossible."

Jiang Jinhua looked at Jiang Jinxiu with some suspicion and continued talking to herself.

Jiang Jinxiu didn't say anything, letting him look at her, just when she thought he had forgotten.

Suddenly, he burst into tears and hugged Jiang Jinxiu, crying, "Sister, last night I dreamt that you actually married that bastard Liu Jianjun, and that bastard and that woman Song Wan'er hurt you and framed our father, waaaah... Isn't that outrageous?"

Jiang Jinxiu was about to raise her hand to comfort him, but after hearing his last words, she lowered it again.

It seems her brother really just saw it as a dream, which is fine.

"That's outrageous, so why are you crying now?"

"Yes." Jiang Jinhua stopped crying instantly. "Sister, it's a good thing you didn't marry him. You both got married, otherwise I would have doubted that it was a dream. What I dreamed about last night felt too real."

Strangely enough, I dreamt of skyscrapers and castle-like houses. How could such houses exist? I've never seen anything like them before; some were even more beautiful than the courtyard houses we live in in Beijing.

Jiang Jinxiu patted his head: "That's why we say dreams and reality are opposites."

"Mhm." Jiang Jinhua nodded: "But sis, you can't protect Liu Jianjun like you used to. And that woman Song Wan'er isn't any better."

He said it with absolute certainty.

Many people could tell that the two people had ill intentions towards his sister, but his sister couldn't see it.

Why.

"No, it's because I was too naive before, unable to distinguish between good and bad people. I'm sorry you suffered because of that." Jiang Jinxiu hugged Jiang Jinhua, thinking of what had happened in the past.

She used to be quite a jerk, often making Jiang Jinhua suffer because of those two scumbags, Liu Jianjun and Song Wan'er.

Fortunately, her brother, being her brother after all, didn't dislike her because of this.

"Sis, you know you used to be silly. I've told you so many times, but you never listen to me. You even say I'm young and don't understand." Jiang Jinhua instantly became aggrieved.

"I'm sorry, sister, it won't happen again." Jiang Jinxiu apologized readily.

A mistake is a mistake.

Jiang Jinhua was pleased with Jiang Jinxiu's apology, and he took advantage of the situation: "Sister, could you be nicer to me in the future? I won't go to work, okay? I heard that in the countryside, the fields are covered in cow dung, chicken dung, all kinds of manure, it's so dirty and smelly."

Jiang Jinxiu's face immediately hardened, and she released him: "If you don't go to work, what will you eat? Do you dare to look down on this land? Without this land to feed you, you wouldn't even have anything to eat. You better behave yourself, follow my instructions, and go to work."

"Sis, you're not working either, are you? The Gu family can support you, so they can support me too. This is a buy-one-get-one-free deal, it's a great deal."

Jiang Jinxiu couldn't stand it anymore and slapped him on the back of the head: "You brat, do you know what you're saying? I'm your brother-in-law's son. He has no obligation to support you anymore. According to you, should I help you find a family so you can become a live-in son-in-law and be supported by someone else?"

Upon hearing the words "son-in-law who lives with his wife's family," Jiang Jinhua's heart skipped a beat, and she immediately admitted her mistake: "Sister, sister, no, I was wrong, I was wrong, okay?"

On the way here, I still vividly remember the time I was almost forced to become a live-in son-in-law.

He absolutely refused to become a live-in son-in-law.

He's an only child in his family, and his father would beat him to death.

"Then you should go to work obediently. As a man, if you can't even support yourself, wouldn't you be laughed at? Also, after you fainted last night, Xiao Liang did take care of you all night. Remember to thank him later."

Jiang Jinxiu couldn't understand it. Although these two had only known each other for a short time, they were like brothers who had known each other for a long time during the day. How come they were completely different at night?

She didn't understand the world of men.

...

It was an hour later when Jiang Jinxiu brought Jiang Jinhua back to the Gu family.

The rest of the Gu family had already gotten up and eaten breakfast.

Only Gu Xichen was left waiting for them.

Fortunately, Jiang Jinhua saw that Gu Xichen did not faint this time.

Jiang Jinxiu handed him a stool, and he sat down directly opposite Gu Xichen.

Gu Xichen didn't say anything, but silently moved a bowl of porridge on the table in front of him, and pushed another bowl of porridge in front of Jiang Jinxiu.

The three of them sat together and ate breakfast.

Jiang Jinhua knew at a glance that this was the last person she saw yesterday.

"What did you do to me last night? Why does my head hurt so much whenever I see you?"

Gu Xichen glanced at him and said calmly, "I also want to know why."

This was the first time he had ever met his brother-in-law.

But as soon as he saw me, he was so shocked that he fainted.

Is he really that scary?

Okay, he admits that he can be quite scary at times, and some people are afraid of him.

But he really didn't do anything last night.

He hadn't even had a chance to say a word.

The person then fainted.

He was wronged too.

Jiang Jinhua stared at him intently, and the more he looked, the more familiar he seemed. He was certain it wasn't because of their meeting last night.

When exactly did I meet him?

He couldn't remember it at all.

But who could be the man who appeared at the Gu family home so early in the morning?

After all, he had met all the men from the Gu family on the first day he arrived.
