"Well, it's all a misunderstanding," He Mei said somewhat awkwardly. "It's normal for friends to joke around, isn't it? I'll explain it to her later."
She doesn't even believe what she says, yet she expects others to believe it.
Some of these ideas are just wishful thinking.
The village chief was still worried about Jiang Jinhua, so he came over to check on him during the lunch break.
Upon arriving, I saw three people facing off in a strange manner.
Upon closer inspection, they found Jiang Jinhua and Gu Xiliang in a disheveled state: "Did you two fall into a cesspool? Hurry up and wash yourselves off."
The village chief's words were full of disdain.
As soon as Jiang Jinhua saw the village chief, she disregarded the disdain she might receive and began to speak rapidly.
These are all accusations against He Mei.
The village chief's expression changed repeatedly upon hearing this.
He Mei is becoming more and more outrageous.
How could a married woman be so captivated by a young man?
Why would you bring someone mung bean porridge for no reason?
Do you really think everyone else is an idiot?
And then there's her husband, Liu Jianjun, who hasn't been going to work at all.
Didn't Dr. Hai say that when he was struck by lightning, he only fainted and nothing serious happened?
Is there something fishy going on here?
Gu Xiliang only then realized that He Mei was actually so shameless.
As soon as Jiang Jinhua finished speaking, he said, "Village chief, you must uphold justice for my brother! If I hadn't arrived in time, and she had turned the tables and falsely accused my brother, wouldn't he have been finished?"
Jiang Jinhua was startled: "Brother, you saw it when she got close to me just now. I didn't touch her at all, and I didn't let her succeed. She was just deluding herself."
Jiang Jinhua certainly didn't want to ruin his reputation as soon as he went to the countryside.
The other party was a married woman, and the wife of the person he hated the most.
He felt like he had been cursed for eight lifetimes, why did he keep encountering so many unlucky things?
Okay, he admits his face is alright.
But it's just this face.
It seems that boys still need to take good care of themselves when they go out.
He Mei's face turned pale: "That's not how the village chief is. I only treat him like a younger brother."
Her words sounded weak and powerless.
The village chief looked directly at her: "Why hasn't Liu Zhiqing been going to work lately? Do you have enough food at home?"
You have to understand that nowadays almost every household is struggling to make ends meet. If there's one more person to eat, and no one else to earn work points, there's basically not enough to go around.
Moreover, he knew that Liu Zhiqing's sister had also come.
This means the He family now has two more mouths to feed.
Given the He family's character, he didn't believe they would be willing to support them for nothing.
"He... he's disappeared without a trace." He Mei was caught off guard by the question.
"So you started looking for other men?"
"Village chief, I...I didn't," He Mei denied.
She's not stupid; she admitted to the village chief that she was tired of living.
"So what do you mean today? Female hooligan? If you act like a hooligan, we can hand you over to the militia."
The village chief was unwilling to let her off so easily.
"Village chief, I didn't, I didn't..."
Before she could finish speaking, she pretended to be ashamed and indignant, and ran away crying.
"Come back here, He Mei, He Mei..."
No matter how the village chief called out to her, He Mei didn't stop; instead, she ran faster and faster.
The village chief was also helpless about this.
However, I've come to a realization. It seems I still need to find some time to go to the He family and give them a warning.
Watching He Mei's disheveled figure leave.
Jiang Jinhua suddenly thought of something.
"Village chief, the Liu educated youth you mentioned, could it be Liu Jianjun?"
Jiang Jinhua voiced the question that had been bothering her.
The village chief nodded.
Jiang Jinhua finally realized why the name He Mei sounded familiar—it was the name he overheard others mentioning when he wanted to beat up Liu Jianjun that day.
He Mei was the wife he married.
Jiang Jinhua immediately thought He Mei was out of her mind.
Even though her husband's relationship with her sister was already strained, he still came to her side, trying to curry favor.
It really proves the saying, "Birds of a feather flock together."
They are all bad people.
Jiang Jinhua suddenly thought of something.
He looked up and asked the village chief, "Village chief, did this woman bully my sister before?"
The village chief didn't answer. There were so many people in the village, including so many educated youth, that he couldn't possibly know everything about them. He would only occasionally hear his wife mention it once or twice.
He only knew that Jiang Jinxiu and He Mei initially had a good relationship, but he didn't know the specifics of how they fell out.
Unable to get an answer from the village chief, Jiang Jinhua turned to Gu Xiliang.
Gu Xiliang could tell what he was thinking just by looking at his expression. He patted him on the shoulder and comforted him, "Don't worry, they bullied your sister-in-law, but she's already found a way to get revenge. Do you think your third sister-in-law is so easily bullied now?"
Jiang Jinhua thought of her older sister, who was now always ready to hit her, and realized that it made sense.
However, no matter how powerful his sister is, she is still his sister, and no one can bully her.
He should have just punched the guy.
There was one thing Gu Xiliang was too embarrassed to tell Jiang Jinhua: He Mei had also tried to seduce his third brother before, but his third brother had simply ignored her.
Looking at Jiang Jinhua's expression, and thinking about what had happened between his sister Jiang Jinxiu and Liu Jianjun, the village chief shook his head.
These ones are all troublesome.
