"Sister, will that brother be alright?" Xie Hongfu asked, hopping on one foot in front of Jiang Jinxiu, his eyes full of worry.
Jiang Jinxiu looked at the child in front of her. Her own foot was still injured, and she could barely stand, yet she was still concerned about the other person's injury. She immediately helped him sit down on a chair and asked, "What happened to your foot?"
Gu Dashan then walked over and said, "He twisted his ankle. It's my fault for letting him get down."
"Grandpa Gu, it's not your fault. I wanted to come down myself. I'm sorry for the trouble!"
"You silly child..." Gu Dashan rubbed his little head.
Jiang Jinhua and Gu Xilan came out when they heard the commotion.
Seeing Yang Dongmei and Grandma Luo vigorously wiping up the puddles on the floor, and noticing the strange boy in the house, she couldn't help but ask, "Sister, where did this little brat come from?"
"Third sister-in-law, whose child is this?"
Gu Xilan knew all the children in Gujia Village, and the little boy in front of her was clearly not from their village.
Xie Hongfu timidly hid behind Gu Dashan, but still peeked out to look at the two people in front of him.
Jiang Jinxiu gave them a brief introduction, then lifted up the little guy's trouser leg to apply medicine to him.
When I saw that his foot had swollen up into such a big lump, his tiny foot looked like a pig's trotter.
The little one didn't cry or make a fuss at all, and she didn't know what to say.
I feel so sorry for the little guy in front of me.
Perhaps it was because of her pregnancy, but she was overflowing with maternal love and was particularly sensitive; her eyes instantly welled up with tears.
After getting to know the little guy, Gu Xilan went to help Yang Dongmei and the others wipe the floor.
Only Jiang Jinhua and Gu Dashan remained, watching from the sidelines.
"Oh my god, why is it so swollen? Little one, doesn't it hurt?" Jiang Jinhua exclaimed.
Xiao Hongfu glanced at Jiang Jinhua, then at Jiang Jinhua and Gu Dashan, and shook his head.
"Ouch~ How could it not hurt? It hurts just watching it! But you're amazing, little guy, you can even endure this!" Jiang Jinhua gave Xie Hongfu a thumbs up.
Grandpa said to be brave!
The little guy, who had promised to be brave, still frowned and shed tears when Jiang Jinxiu applied the medicine to him.
Just as Jiang Junrong and the others finished treating Zhou Nan's wounds and bandaging them, Gu Wenxi and his oxcart arrived.
The men quickly lifted the person onto the oxcart.
Zhou Nan's injury cannot be delayed any longer.
They could only treat his superficial wounds and stop the bleeding. He had two gunshot wounds and needed immediate surgery.
Gu Dashan also got on the oxcart; he wanted to go along. Jiang Junrong was worried about Gu Xichen, who was still on the mountain, and wanted to go and meet him.
Xu Yining also wanted to go and provide support, but Jiang Junrong revealed his identity and refused to let him go.
Moreover, his hand needs immediate surgery; if it's not treated soon, his hand will be ruined.
Xu Yining, with one hand hanging down, also got onto the oxcart: "Sister-in-law, please take care of Xie Hongfu. Don't let anyone else know he's in your house."
Jiang Jinxiu agreed, stuffed ten ten-yuan bills into Jiang Jinhua's hand, and pushed him onto the oxcart as well, saying, "Go and help too."
Jiang Jinxiu then handed him two jugs of spiritual spring water: "This is medicinal wine. One jug is for them to drink when they are injured, and the other jug is for treating their wounds."
After the oxcart left, Jiang Junrong ignored Jiang Jinxiu and the others' attempts to stop him and headed up the mountain.
Seeing that she couldn't stop her father, Jiang Jinxiu secretly took out her long-unused stun gun from her spatial storage and handed it to Jiang Junrong.
"Father, I found this by chance. You can take it for self-defense."
As she spoke, she taught Jiang Junrong how to use it. Jiang Junrong didn't have time to think much. After learning the steps, he took the stun gun and headed up the mountain.
...
On the mountain, Gu Xichen climbed up a big tree.
They used the dense branches to conceal their figures.
From the tree, he could clearly see that there were twelve people chasing him, and none of them were ordinary people.
They were all carrying guns.
They looked just like mercenaries!
“Where did all those people go? They're injured, they couldn't have gone far!” a man with a scar on his face said in English.
He was swearing and using foul language as he spoke!
There were other people talking, but Gu Xichen could only understand some of what they were saying. It sounded like they were speaking their language, but it didn't seem like it was.
He observed the movements of the people under the tree while looking into the distance.
I don't know where the other eight people are now.
Suddenly, he heard the people below start arguing, and this time, they were all communicating in English.
Gu Xichen could understand everything.
Besides the twelve people under the tree, there were ten others guarding the boy's grandfather.
They kidnapped the boy in an attempt to force the old man to submit.
There must be something they want in the old man.
Otherwise, they wouldn't have made such a big fuss.
Now some of them want to give up the pursuit and go back, while others disagree, saying that the old man is unwilling to accept that the boy hasn't been caught...
The people left the tree while arguing.
Suddenly, Gu Xichen sensed movement beside him and quickly grabbed his gun, pointing it behind him.
"Meow meow meow..." Master, don't shoot, it's me!
Just as Gu Xichen was about to fire, he heard Orange meowing.
He immediately turned the gun to one side.
"When did you get here!" Gu Xichen stroked its head twice.
Orange protested by taking two steps back.
"Meow meow meow..." Master, I'm here to help you!
"Keep yourselves hidden and don't let them shoot you in the head!"
"Meow meow meow..." Master, you underestimate me!
