Chapter 53 Encountering Human Traffickers on the Train

"Village Chief, I need to go to Gu Xichen's place," Jiang Jinxiu said somewhat urgently.

It seemed as if they were afraid the village chief would make a mistake.

The village chief gave her a meaningful look, pushed the letter of introduction in front of her, and said a single word indifferently: "Write it."

Jiang Jinxiu quickly waved her hand: "Village chief, please write it down, please write it down."

Jiang Jinxiu was apprehensive. She wanted to write it herself, but if this got out, she was finished.

In this day and age, these are no small matters.

The village chief was just teasing her; he would never actually write it for her.

"Old Gu really married a good wife. Have you considered going to join her in the army?"

"We'll talk about accompanying the army later; we're not considering it for now."

The village chief nodded, thinking about their family's current situation.

Jiang Jinxiu accepted the letter of introduction, thanked them, and then turned and left without waiting.

When she got home, she picked up her packed belongings, left her room, and locked the door.

She saw Yang Dongmei and Gu Laoda waiting for her at the door.

"Mother, elder brother, I'm leaving."

Yang Dongmei handed her the items and introduced them one by one: "These are pumpkin pancakes, freshly made. Take them and eat them on the way. These are eggs and some side dishes. Take them."

As soon as Yang Dongmei heard that she was going to visit Gu Xichen at the army base in the morning, she started arranging things to bring her.

"Third brother's wife, let the eldest brother take you to the train station by bicycle, otherwise I won't feel at ease."

Jiang Jinxiu smiled brightly and replied, "Thank you, Mother."

Yang Dongmei kept reminding you: "When you're out and about, you must be careful. Don't talk to strangers, don't go with strangers, don't eat anything given to you by strangers, and don't strike up conversations with strangers..."

The more Yang Dongmei talked, the more worried she became: "Why don't I go with you?"

Jiang Jinxiu smiled again: "Mother, don't worry. I would like you to come with me, but are you willing to leave home? Xiao Lan will be starting school soon."

These words, spoken with a touch of wit, somewhat dispelled Yang Dongmei's unease.

"Then you must take good care of yourself."

At this moment, Gu Laoda also pushed out his bicycle: "Come on, third sister-in-law, get on the bike, I'll take you to the station."

"Eldest brother, you must make sure you get the third brother's wife into the car and settled before you come back."

"Yes, Mother."

The two left amidst Yang Dongmei's reluctant gaze.

A mother worries when her son travels a thousand miles, and Jiang Jinxiu truly experienced this with Yang Dongmei.

Although she was only Yang Dongmei's daughter-in-law, Yang Dongmei truly treated her like her own child.

She was so grateful that she had been reborn.

She must treat them well in this life. She must protect all those who are kind to her.

...

Upon arriving at the train station, Boss Gu even bought a platform ticket to help Jiang Jinxiu put her luggage on the train and settle her in before getting off and leaving.

Because of the long distance, Jiang Jinxiu bought a sleeper ticket.

A sleeper berth is much more comfortable than a hard seat.

You can sit or lie down. And it's not crowded.

There were only four people in the private room.

Jiang Jinxiu bought a lower bunk.

Jiang Jinxiu sat in her seat, feeling very excited.

Her fair face had become slightly flushed.

It's exceptionally beautiful.

Across from Jiang Jinxiu was an elderly woman.

After the old woman got on the bus, she kept staring at Jiang Jinxiu, her eyes constantly darting around.

Just as the train was about to depart, two more men boarded.

One was wearing a plaid shirt, and the other was wearing a Lenin suit.

They were probably in their early twenties, and they were all passengers in the upper berths.

The two young men couldn't take their eyes off the beautiful and youthful Jiang Jinxiu; their ears were burning.

Jiang Jinxiu was completely unaware of this; she was still immersed in the joy of soon meeting Gu Xichen.

"Waaaaah..."

The green train started moving, its whistle blaring continuously.

Jiang Jinxiu looked at the fields and mountains flashing by outside the window, imagining the scene of her reunion with Gu Xichen, and a smile kept spreading across her face.

It's dazzling.

The two men on the upper bunk had left, leaving only Jiang Jinxiu and the old woman in the private room.

"Young lady, what's your name? Where are you going?" the old woman asked Jiang Jinxiu with a kind expression.

Jiang Jinxiu frowned, looked her up and down, but ignored her and continued to look at the scenery outside the window.

Seeing that Jiang Jinxiu ignored her, the old woman got up and sat on Jiang Jinxiu's bed, right next to her.

"Hey girl, why are you ignoring me?"

Jiang Jinxiu got angry: "Get out of my way. This is my seat."

The elderly couple smiled and said, "Oh, it's just a short rest, why are you so angry? Such a pretty face won't look good if you're angry. Here, there's something on your face, let me wipe it off for you."

As she spoke, she took the white cloth in her other hand and was about to slap Jiang Jinxiu's face.

Jiang Jinxiu became wary and grabbed the old woman's raised hand directly; "No need, go away."

At this moment, two young men returned, looking at the old man and the young man sitting together with some confusion.

The old woman withdrew her hand sullenly, muttering, "They don't appreciate kindness."

Then he returned to his seat.

night.

The carriage was pitch black; you couldn't see your hand in front of your face.

A profound silence fell over the surroundings, broken only by the clanging of the train.

After what happened during the day, Jiang Jinxiu asked Orange in her spatial dimension to keep watch at night before she could finally fall asleep peacefully.

But not long after I fell asleep, Orange in the space started shouting.
