Dr. Liu rubbed the sore spot and took a deep breath: "Let's go, I'll go with you to take a look."
As soon as they reached the corridor, they ran into Nurse Chen, who had been helping to take care of Gu Dashan. Nurse Chen was also very excited to hear that Gu Dashan had woken up, and she followed him.
When Dr. Liu and Nurse Chen arrived at the ward, they were both surprised to see Gu Dashan sitting up and talking to Yang Dongmei.
Gu Dashan's current state doesn't resemble that of someone who has been asleep for ten years at all.
Of all the patients they had encountered who had just woken up, none were as energetic as this.
He doesn't look like someone who has been asleep for ten years at all.
Dr. Liu: "Is there anything else that's bothering you? For example, dizziness, headache, or general weakness?"
Nurse Chen: "Yes, if you feel unwell, you should tell us."
Gu Dashan was very grateful when he heard Nurse Chen and Dr. Liu's voices.
He had heard all about it; they had taken care of him during the many years he had been in a coma, and he was extremely grateful for it.
"I'm fine, I just feel some soreness in my back, probably from lying down for too long."
Gu Dashan answered with a smile.
Dr. Liu was still worried and arranged for him to have a full-body checkup.
Gu Dashan didn't want to go; he just wanted to go home.
But Yang Dongmei refused, insisting that he get checked before she would feel at ease.
Unable to resist his wife's insistence, Gu Dashan had no choice but to obediently agree.
On the way, he happened to run into Gu Lao Er, who was visiting him at the hospital.
Gu Lao Er didn't notice that Gu Dashan was awake; he only saw Yang Dongmei, Jiang Jinxiu, and Nurse Chen pushing the hospital bed.
Thinking something had happened to his father, he rushed forward with great concern: "Mother..."
Before he could finish speaking, he saw his father lying on the bed staring at him intently.
His eyes were filled with satisfaction.
He was stunned and didn't react for a long time.
He stared at them as they pushed him further and further away.
Yang Dongmei and Jiang Jinxiu were so focused on Gu Dashan that they didn't notice the people around them.
Finally, Gu Dashan gestured to Yang Dongmei, and Yang Dongmei turned around to see her silly second son staring blankly at them.
"Gu Xijing, Gu Xijing..." Yang Dongmei called out several times before Gu Lao Er finally reacted.
He ran up to them, waving his arms excitedly, "Father, Father, you're finally awake!"
The sound was so loud that it attracted the attention of everyone around.
Gu Dashan looked at his simple-minded second son and sighed deeply.
The second child is already so big.
Just as he was about to speak to his second son, Yang Dongmei blocked his view: "Let's get checked first, there'll be plenty of time later."
As she spoke, she turned around and said to Gu Lao Er with some disdain, "Your father just woke up, let him get checked out first. Calm down."
Yang Dongmei seemed to have forgotten that when Gu Dashan first woke up, it was someone who lost control of their emotions and cried uncontrollably.
Jiang Jinxiu watched from the side, feeling a strange sense of sympathy for Gu Lao Er.
My mother-in-law is a typical example of double standards; she only allows officials to set fires while forbidding ordinary people to light lamps, haha.
However, she only dared to think about it in her heart.
Gu Dashan's examination lasted four or five hours.
His test results truly astonished Dr. Chen.
The recovery is incredibly fast; these values are almost identical to those of a normal person.
Upon hearing that his examination results were normal, Gu Dashan wanted to get up and pack his things to leave the hospital immediately.
But perhaps because he hadn't stood up and walked for too long, he stumbled as soon as he stood up and almost fell.
Fortunately, Yang Dongmei had been watching him closely and helped him up in time.
Seeing this, Dr. Chen suggested that Gu Dashan walk around the hospital for a while to recover, and then have another check-up the next day to make sure that everything was really alright before being discharged.
After confirming that Gu Dashan was alright, Jiang Jinxiu left the hospital under the pretext of writing a letter to Gu Xichen.
Soon after, Gu Lao Er was also sent home by Yang Dongmei.
After all, it was getting dark, and it wasn't good to go back too late; it wasn't safe to walk alone at night.
Actually, Yang Dongmei disliked her second son because he was in the way.
She wanted to be alone with Gu Dashan.
Even after he got home, Gu Lao Er felt like he was still in a dream.
When I entered the house, I found myself moving my hands and feet in unison.
Gu Xilan burst into laughter the moment she saw her second brother walking with his arms and legs in unison: "Second brother, you actually walk with your arms and legs in unison, hahaha..."
Gu Lao Er immediately stopped in his tracks, and said angrily, "Shut up, you brat! What are you doing laughing like that, a girl like you?"
Gu Xilan didn't buy into Gu Lao Er's act at all. She stuck out her tongue and said, "Second brother, you're the one who's being too funny, okay? You can't blame me for this, hahaha..."
Gu Xilan couldn't stop laughing.
The others in the courtyard also looked at Gu Lao Er with smiles, but none of them laughed as loudly as Gu Xilan.
Gu Lao Er was embarrassed.
"Second brother, what happened?"
Gu Laoda came to his brother's rescue.
Upon hearing this, Gu Lao Er seemed to realize something, and his eyes instantly reddened. He looked at his elder brother, then at the others in the room, his mouth moved but he didn't say anything.
His appearance terrified the others who were with him day and night: "Second brother, please don't do this. I will never laugh at you again."
Gu Xilan's laughter stopped abruptly and vanished. She spoke hesitantly, somewhat flustered.
"Husband, what's wrong with you?"
Sun Xiaomeng rarely saw Gu Xijing in this state of mind.
Even Boss Gu couldn't help but walk over to him.
