Extra Chapter 11: I Might Find Him

When Gu Xichen carried Feng Jingui back to Zhao Family Village with Jiang Junrong and Jiang Jinxiu, it was already dawn.

The courtyard was brightly lit, but no one was sleeping.

Jiang Jinhua, Mo Caixia, Wu Wen, and Huang Tao were all waiting in the courtyard, their faces filled with anxiety.

Zhou Wenjing and Gu Xilan stayed in the house with Old Lady Luo, and they also didn't sleep all night.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief when they saw the three of them return safely.

"How's it going? Did you catch them?" Jiang Jinhua was the first to rush forward.

When he saw the skinny old man Gu Xichen was carrying on his shoulder, his eyes turned red, and he wanted to kick him: "Is this the old bastard?"

"Advanced House said."

Gu Xichen didn't let him do it; he simply carried the man into the woodshed, threw him on the ground, and tied him up.

The group returned to the main house.

Grandma Luo was leaning against the bed. As soon as she saw them come in, she struggled to sit up: "Anbang, Nannan, are you... are you alright?"

"Mother, we're alright." Jiang Junrong walked quickly to the bedside, took his mother's hand, and said in a hoarse voice, "We've caught him."

"You caught them?"

An astonishing light flashed in Grandma Luo's eyes as she stared intently at Jiang Junrong: "What...what did he say? What exactly happened to your father...?"

Looking at his mother's expectant yet fearful eyes, Jiang Junrong was momentarily at a loss for words.

The truth was too cruel.

Jiang Jinxiu stepped forward, helped her grandmother, and recounted everything that had happened last night, as well as everything she had asked Feng Jingui, in a soft but incredibly clear voice.

From Feng Jingui's jealousy to Wang Shi'an's betrayal, then to his collusion with Xiao Baga to murder his grandfather, and finally framing Feng Jingui and absconding with the money...

With each word she spoke, Old Lady Luo's face paled a little more.

When she heard that "Wang Shi'an strangled him with a rope by his own hands," the old lady trembled violently, her lips quivering, unable to utter a single word.

When she heard that "Wang Shi'an was Xiao Baga's dog from the very beginning," she suddenly couldn't catch her breath and started coughing violently, coughing so hard it felt like she was coughing up her internal organs.

"grandmother!"

"mother!"

Everyone in the room was terrified. Zhou Wenjing quickly patted her back to help her catch her breath, while Jiang Jinxiu swiftly handed her a cup of spiritual spring water.

After drinking the water, Grandma Luo's cough gradually subsided.

But her eyes became empty and desperate.

She didn't cry or make a scene; she just stared blankly into the void, repeatedly muttering, "Traitor...he's a traitor...my husband was killed by a traitor..."

These words were like a dull knife, cutting back and forth in her heart.

For decades, she believed that her husband had died in the war or in an accident.

Although it was tragic, it was a tragedy of an era, a microcosm of countless families.

She had always believed that Feng Jingui was a loyal servant who sacrificed his life for righteousness and a benefactor of the Zhao family.

She taught her descendants to always remember this kindness.

The Feng family was treated well.

But now, everything has been overturned.

The husband was brutally murdered by the person he trusted most, in collusion with an enemy.

The so-called "benefactor" was nothing more than a petty person who was driven by jealousy and hatred and aided and abetted evil.

How ridiculous, how ironic!

For decades, the Zhao family had been worshipping what turned out to be their enemy!

"puff--"

Grandma Luo could no longer hold back and suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, staining her chest red.

"grandmother!"

Jiang Jinxiu was shocked and immediately supported her limp body, quickly inserting silver needles into several major acupoints on her chest.

The room was in complete chaos.

"Quick! Go get the doctor!" Zhou Wenjing was already on the verge of tears.

"Don't panic!"

Jiang Jinxiu forced herself to calm down: "I can stabilize Grandma's situation. Xichen, go and call your eldest brother right now, tell him about the situation here, and have him use all his connections to find a man named Wang Shi'an nationwide!"

She gave instructions methodically as she administered the acupuncture.

"He's over seventy years old, with a long face, a high nose, and a black mole behind his left ear! He's likely changed his name a long time ago. Let him check his immigration records from decades ago, as well as those of overseas returnees! Especially those whose identities are unknown but who have suddenly become very wealthy!"

"Also, investigate a little idiot named 'Teng Zuo,' a spy who was active in Beijing decades ago! This might be a clue!"

"Okay, I'll go right away!" Gu Xichen turned around and ran out without hesitation.

"Xiao Hua, you, Wu Wen, Huang Tao, and the others, guard the manor well. No one is allowed to enter or leave! Especially keep a close watch on Feng Jingui in the woodshed!"

"Don't worry, sis! Not even a fly will get away!" Jiang Jinhua nodded heavily, her eyes red.

"Sister Caixia, Sister Xiaoyu, please help my mother take care of Grandma."

"Don't worry, Ah Xiu," Mo Caixia and Zhang Xiaoyu quickly replied.

Under Jiang Jinxiu's calm command, the initially panicked crowd gradually found their bearings and began to perform their respective duties.

Jiang Jinxiu devoted all her attention to saving her grandmother.

With the combined use of the spiritual spring water and the golden needle technique, the bleeding from Old Lady Luo gradually stopped, and her breathing slowly stabilized, but she remained unconscious.

Jiang Jinxiu checked her pulse; it was weak and shallow, indicating that she was suffering from severe internal heat that had damaged her health.

This blow was far too great for the elderly person.

Jiang Junrong stayed by his mother's bedside, his heart aching as he looked at her pale face and the glaring bloodstain on her chest.
