Back then, she really wasn't that pretentious.
She thought it was probably because she hadn't seen him for too long.
Gu Xichen finally breathed a sigh of relief when he saw his wife smile.

Jiang Jinxiu pulled her hand away and slapped him a few times in annoyance: "Silly boy, I think you're trying to take advantage of me again. Your mother is calling you, go and see what's wrong."
Jiang Jinxiu quickly composed herself.
Being sentimental, sensitive, and prone to tears is not her style.
"Honey, are you really okay?" He was just angry at his wife's words, otherwise he wouldn't have bitten her.
He never expected that his wife would actually cry.
But now he acts like nothing's wrong.
He was really a bit confused.
His mother was still calling outside. Only after confirming that his wife was alright did he go out and open the door.
When Yang Dongmei saw Gu Xichen return, she had originally planned to have him take Jiang Jinxiu to town the night before, so they could go the next day.

Gu Xichen wasn't afraid of being beaten, but he was worried that his elderly mother would get upset and suffer a serious injury.
"Mother, Mother, I didn't..."
But it was clear that Yang Dongmei did not believe him.
Fortunately, Jiang Jinxiu spoke up in time to stop her: "Mother, I'm fine, please stop hitting me. Be careful not to hurt your hand, or Father will be worried for a long time."
Yang Dongmei glared at Jiang Jinxiu with annoyance.
"You, you still have the mind to tease your mother? Don't you know you're pregnant and can't do whatever you want? You can't spoil him, you know that!"
Yang Dongmei tapped Jiang Jinxiu's head with a hint of exasperation.
They only kissed briefly, so it's not like they did anything inappropriate, right?

Her face flushed slightly, but she still agreed.
Yang Dongmei originally planned to have Gu Xichen take Jiang Jinxiu to town by himself first.
Now, she wanted to go up with them first, and if necessary, she could come back tomorrow to pack her things.
Unfortunately, her idea ultimately failed to come true.
