Side Story 3: Thieves

"Grandma, why are you looking at me?" she asked, trying to remain calm.

"because……"

Grandma Luo picked up the jade pendant: "This jade pendant can only be activated by people with special abilities. And I've always felt that you are the chosen one of this generation."

As she spoke, she handed the jade pendant to Jiang Jinxiu.

Jiang Jinxiu took the jade pendant, and as soon as she touched it, the pendant emitted a faint light.

Everyone was stunned.

"It really is you. Jinxiu, you are the successor of our Zhao family in this generation," Grandma Luo said excitedly.

Jiang Jinxiu held the glowing jade pendant, her heart filled with mixed emotions.

It turns out that her special ability was not accidental, but inherited from her family.

But what shocked her even more was yet to come.

"Jinxiu, have you encountered anything strange?"

Grandma Luo asked, "For example, being able to go to a place where no one can see you?"

Is Grandma hinting at her need for personal space?

Jiang Jinxiu pursed her lips, thinking about how to answer her grandmother's question, when a strange sound suddenly came from the basement.

"Boom..."

"What's going on?" Gu Xichen asked alertly.

"Oh no! Someone has discovered the entrance!"

Grandma Luo's expression changed drastically: "Quickly, we must leave here immediately!"

The shaking in the basement grew more and more intense, and dust kept falling from above.

"Grandma, what exactly happened?" Jiang Jinxiu gripped the still glowing jade pendant tightly.

"Someone is digging up there; they may have discovered a secret here."

Grandma Luo's face was grave: "We must move these cultural relics immediately."

Jiang Junrong looked at the room full of treasures: "How are we going to move all this stuff?"

Grandma Luo looked at Jiang Jinxiu: "Jinxiu, the jade pendant in your hand is not just an ornament, it is a sacred artifact passed down in our Zhao family."

"A divine artifact?"

“That’s right. This jade pendant can open a special space, specifically for storing important items.”

Jiang Jinxiu was startled.

Can jade pendants open up spaces?

Then there's the space in her bracelet...

"But I don't know how to use it," she said, feigning innocence.

"Don't worry, your bloodline will guide you."

Grandma Luo walked to Jiang Jinxiu's side: "Place your hand on the jade pendant and feel it with your heart."

Jiang Jinxiu did as her grandmother said, and sure enough, she felt a strange power flowing in the jade pendant.

Suddenly, some images appeared in her mind.

It was a huge space, with beautiful mountains and clear waters, birds singing and flowers blooming, even more beautiful than her current space.

"Grandma, that's..."

"Don't you see a world with mountains and water...?"

Jiang Jinxiu nodded.

"That's right!" Grandma Luo clapped her hands excitedly.

"That's the Zhao family's inheritance space. Jinxiu, can you go in?"

Jiang Jinxiu concentrated, and the next second, she disappeared from the spot.

"Nannan!" Jiang Junrong exclaimed in surprise.

"Don't worry, she just entered the inheritance space," Grandma Luo explained.

Jiang Jinxiu discovered that she had indeed entered a new space.

This place is much more spacious than the space around her bracelet, complete with mountains, rivers, and everything else.

The most amazing thing is that there are buildings here, an ancient palace standing in the middle of the valley.

"Master, the spiritual energy here is so rich!" Orange ran out of the bracelet space.

"You can come in too?" Jiang Jinxiu asked in surprise.

"Of course, we are one."

Orange frolicked in the new space: "Master, this space is much more advanced than ours."

Jiang Jinxiu walked towards the palace and pushed open the door to enter.

The room was empty, but there were many portraits hanging on the walls, all of them portraits of successors of the Zhao family.

The last portrait is of a young woman who bears some resemblance to Jiang Jinxiu.

Below the portrait is written: Zhao Mingyue, the eighteenth generation successor.

“Zhao Mingyue?” Jiang Jinxiu uttered the name and suddenly felt a flood of information rush into her mind.

It turns out that the Zhao family's inheritance space can only have one owner per generation.

The previous owner, Zhao Mingyue, disappeared during the war, and the space has remained closed ever since.

The space only reopened after Jiang Jinxiu obtained the jade pendant and awakened her bloodline.

Moreover, this inheritance space and her bracelet space can be connected.

The power will be even greater after the two spaces merge.

"I see."

Jiang Jinxiu understood.

Her bracelet space was only a part of the Zhao family's inheritance, and it is only now that it has truly awakened.

She tried to extend her awareness to the basement outside and discovered that she could directly store those artifacts into the heritage space.

Soon, the artifacts in the basement disappeared one by one, and were all transferred to the heritage space.

Jiang Jinxiu's figure reappeared in the basement.

"How is it?" Grandma Luo asked anxiously.

"It's a success, everything is safe now," Jiang Jinxiu said.

Just then, an even louder noise came from above, along with human voices.

"Hurry up, they've made it through," Gu Xichen urged.

The group quickly ran out along the passage.

As soon as I reached the ground, I saw several strangers rummaging through drawers and cabinets in the yard.

"Who are you people?" Jiang Junrong shouted angrily.

The leader was a middle-aged man with a pointed face and monkey-like features; he was clearly not a good person.

"Oh, I didn't expect there to be anyone here," the man said with a grin.

“This is a private residence, you have no right to search it,” Gu Xichen stepped forward.

"Private residence?"

The man sneered, "This dilapidated place has been abandoned for so many years, it's long been unclaimed. Whoever gets their hands on the contents keeps them."

"fart!"

Jiang Jinhua was furious: "This is our family's ancestral home, and everything inside belongs to our family."

"Your family? Do you have any evidence?"

Grandma Luo produced the property deed: "This is the evidence."

The man glanced at the property deed, his expression changing: "So it really does have an owner. But..."

His eyes lit up: "Since you are the owners here, that makes things even easier. We'll pay for your old items, and the price is negotiable."

"Not for sale." Jiang Junrong refused decisively.

"Not selling?" The man's face darkened. "Then don't blame us for being impolite. Brothers, search them!"

However, just as they made their move, Gu Xichen, Jiang Junrong, and Jiang Jinhua also made their move.

They were even faster, and in no time at all, they knocked their opponents to the ground, crying and howling.
