Chapter 2 Tenderness Under Indifference

After taking a shower with cold water and some medicine, the effects of the drug were finally removed.

But she was weak, and the water at sea was very cold, so she got a fever after taking a shower.

After taking the fever-reducing medicine, Huo Si saw that her face was flushed, her eyes were closed, and she was curled up tightly wrapped in the quilt. He walked out of the room with a serious expression.

The man in a suit was standing guard outside the door. When he saw him, he leaned forward slightly and said, "The man has been caught."

Huo Si had a terrifying look in his eyes and took a long step forward.

In the small room, the waiter had obviously been beaten up and was pinned to the ground by two bodyguards.

Huo Si sat on a leather chair, crossed his legs, holding a Buddhist rosary in his hand, rubbing the beads with his thumb.

"You said someone bribed you?" Huo Si supported his head with one hand, his cold gaze falling on the waiter.

"Mr. Huo, I know I was wrong. I shouldn't have been greedy." The waiter knelt down. "A few days ago, someone gave me some money to put flowers and plants in that girl's room to cause her asthma attack."

Huo Si raised his eyes, a hint of a smile in his eyes: "Seeing that she is fine, what about another plan?"

The waiter was sweating nervously: "After knowing that he had failed, he asked me to put drugs in your food, hoping that you would..."

Before he finished speaking, there was a snap and the Buddhist beads fell to the ground, scattering all over the floor. The waiter's face turned pale.

With an aura that looked down upon the world, Huo Si pinched a Buddhist bead and said, "You dare to plot against me? You deserve to die."

"Mr. Huo, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me." The waiter kowtowed and begged for mercy with fear in his eyes.

Huo Si remained unmoved and ordered coldly, "Throw him into the sea."

The waiter's eyes widened in horror. This was the open sea, and if you were thrown into the sea, you would just end up being fed to the fish.

"Mr. Huo..." Before he could cry out for mercy, his mouth was blocked by someone.

Huo Si stood up, and his shiny black leather shoes stepped on his finger, causing the waiter to burst into tears due to the pain.

Ignoring the person whimpering behind him, Huo Si left the small room.

When I returned to the room, I saw Si Muyan covering her mouth and coughing non-stop. She coughed so hard that her whole face turned red.

"Is the fever gone?" Huo Si stood beside the bed, looking down at her condescendingly.

Si Muyan shook her head.

She suffers from severe asthma, which results in poor respiratory function. She even feels chest tightness and shortness of breath when arguing.

Before she could finish her words, Si Muyan started coughing violently again, almost crying. Suddenly, a glass of water appeared in front of her.

Si Muyan raised her head with tears in her eyes and met his cold and beautiful eyes.

"Thank you, sir." Si Muyan took the cup of water and raised a pale smile.

"I'm the one who caused your illness." Huo Si said in a low voice.

Although the other party wanted to harm Si Muyan, the medicine was prepared for him.

Si Muyan smiled faintly: "Sir, this is also for my own good. A miracle doctor prescribed medicine for me before, but I forgot to bring it with me when I went out this time. Otherwise, I would have recovered sooner."

Seeing her haggard face but trying hard to smile, Huo Si couldn't bear it: "Have a good rest."

After saying this, Huo Si turned and left the room.

"Tell the doctor to make sure her fever goes down." Huo Si ordered seriously.

"Yes, boss." Special assistant Xu Jie responded respectfully.

“Also, let the cruise ships return to port early.”

Hearing this, Xu Jie was shocked. "Returning to Hong Kong early? The tourists still have one day left on their itinerary. If they return early, we'll probably suffer a significant loss."

"It's okay." Huo Si answered lightly.

Xu Jie looked at him in surprise.

He had been with Huo Si for many years, so he naturally knew that although he was called a disciple of Buddha, he was cold-hearted by nature, cruel and vindictive.

Finally, the cruise ship accelerated and returned to the port early. When she got off the cruise ship, Si Muyan still had a low-grade fever.

Huo Si was a good person and sent her home.

"Mr. Huo, thank you for taking me back." Si Muyan spoke in a soft voice with a smile.

"No need." Huo Si's eyes were filled with his usual aloofness.

"Can I have your contact information? I'll treat you to a meal some other day." Si Muyan blinked her big black eyes and looked at him.

"Need not."

Seeing that he was unwilling, Si Muyan did not force him. She thanked him again, then opened the car door and slowly walked towards the gate.

Seeing her enter the house, Huo Si retracted his gaze and said, "Drive."

Si Muyan pushed the door open and walked in, but was blinded by the scene inside.

In the living room, the pretty girl nestled between the middle-aged couple, holding their hands and acting coquettishly.

The middle-aged couple stroked her head lovingly and pinched her cheeks lovingly.

The family is happy and harmonious.

Si Muyan had longed for this scene, but she had never had it in the past three years.

"Dad, Mom." Si Muyan called out.

As her voice fell, Si Muyan could visibly feel both of them stiffen.

Zhao Wei's smile faded, and she asked indifferently, "Why are you back?"

Si Muyan walked forward slowly. As she still had a low fever, she looked like a weak willow that was about to collapse at any moment.

"I had an asthma attack on the cruise ship and came back early." Si Muyan answered slowly.

Si Tong, who was sitting next to Zhao Wei, looked concerned: "How is my sister now?"

"Don't worry about it, sister. I have something to ask you. I had half a bottle of diastolic medicine before I left, but why is it now empty?"

Si Tong blinked her big eyes, looking innocent: "What do you mean, sister?"

"You took the diastolic agent away at that time. Did you take the opportunity to use it up?" Si Muyan questioned.

Hearing this, Si Tong looked at Zhao Wei with a look of grievance.

Before she could speak, Zhao Wei scolded her: "Si Muyan, why do you suspect Tongtong without any evidence?"
